@clashrogers Having just watched the movie an hour ago, I agree exactly. Azaria was the only bright spot in this very, very bland kids film. It is primarily an excuse product placement, most gratuitously in an extended Rock Band sequence that serves no purpose. This is what we get from the director of both Scooby-Doo films and Yours, Mine and Ours. The adult humor was not intense, but there were some bizarre jokes included (a Brokeback Mountain reference). It is a Rental.

I thought The Smurfs was a very charming movie with a lot of funny moments thanks to the funny proformances from Neil Patrick Harris as Patrick Winslow, The Smurfs themselves and especally from the incredible comedy moments from Hank Azaria as Gargamel. I give the movie 4 out of 5 stars. A Full Price!!
