Thank you Father Mike, I had fallen out of touch with the church for many years. Scrolling through KZbin I was doing my daily exercise (walking) and I listened to your mass. I was so filled with the Holy Spirit that I haven’t missed a Sunday since. (About 10 weeks now). I am also on day 30 of “The Bible in a year podcast, which I didn’t know existed until 30 days ago). I believe I can finally get my children 19, 23, and 30 to listen to the word of God again. As they didn’t like going to church because of the old ladies singing (their words not mine) but your services are youthful, refreshing, and educational. I pray for you and your goals of building a House of Worship for your school and community. Your students are blessed more than they even know. Thank you and may God Bless you. 🙏

This is an awesome reminder that mass is important and as most of our lives are outside the Mass, the Mass provides energy to face the world. Comparing the Mass to the intimate relationship of husband and wife is also true. That is the bond that keeps us connected. Like how we are all with Jesus and the Church, like a spouse. St. Paul is right. We must do all things to glorify God. Live and think in a way that makes God proud of us. Bible reading is indeed important to those who are busy and distracted by our daily lives. Bible is our stress buster, compass and guide. The Mass is the community that helps us to feel better and feel belonged. Being kind is also important. Michele DeMar story was inspiring. I have a lot of social anxiety, and I use these Masses to get used to everything before attempting to go to Mass in person. Your story about Michelle asking the doctor how *he* was doing after she had been told that her death was immanent reminds me of how St. Maximilian Kolbe would share his own food with his fellow prisoners in Auschwitz. One book I read said that, on some occasions, other prisoners would insist to Fr. Kolbe that he eat his food rather than giving it to others, since he needed it to survive. This was in a place where prisoners would fight over a crust of bread because they were starving.

Remember The Holy Bible says there is a time for PEACE and a time for WAR. WAR here isn' just literal. It's also the spiritual war. But that life / our Catholic Faith is also a time of PEACE. It all depends what God is calling us to be OBEDIENT to in the moment (not forgetting how God has infinite power over Satan - and powerful as Satan is, our real enemy is our own pride / ego / selfishness / sin which God is really battling in us with because we have free will but battling in us without taking away our free will). That life is a serious battle but equally, it's also a joyful adventure (part of getting to know and love God and neighbour including becoming best versions of ourselves). That we have to be both WARRIORS and LOVER OF LIFE (like children, 'be like little children' and JOYFUL) It's ultimately not about being a warrior nor a lover of life but being OBEDIENT to God in the moment. Whatever He's calling us to do. And if we over-focus on war, we turn into brittle, frazzled, gnostic-like dualists. But if we over-focus on peace, then we turn into wet, wimpy, self-indulgent hedonists (and this 'peace / war' tension is also related to the tension of how Catholicism is both HARD and EASY ('my yoke is easy'). And we're called to be KINGS. A King is superior to being a warrior or a lover of life. A King embodies the balance between war and peace in perfect obedience to God. Lastly, 'there's a time for peace and a time for war' is similar to St Theresa of Avila's, 'There's a time for fasting, and a time for eating partridge!' Lastly, lastly, we need The Holy Spirit (inside us - please God / thank God and as Our Advocate) to work all this out for us and to inspire, instruct and empower us to be OBEDIENT to God in the moment. SO ENSURE YOU INCREASE YOUR DEVOTION TO THE HOLY SPIRIT INSIDE YOU AND AS YOUR ADVOCATE for this but for our Catholic Life in general.

Huge problem in The Catholic Church is that priests just don't understand the psychology and poetry and mystery of marital s-x, holy seduction between married couples and marriage overall. They understand the theology of marriage but not the psychology, poetry and mystery of marriage. At least not like the married couple. And it's not the priests' fault. They do NOT have a calling for marriage! But they need to defer to married catholics on this. In particular Catholics who have strong, happy marriages and can explain something of the psychology, poetry and mystery of marriage (which The Song of Songs explores to an important degree). But it's also intuitive. Part of the gift of the vocation of marriage. Just as married couples don't understand the mysteries of being a priest (well to a degree, yes). And lastly don't forget we've had priests such as St Augustine talking nonsense about s-x. He said that s-x in marriage is for procreation only. He's still a great saint. But this just goes to demonstrate how there is a profound misunderstanding or lack of understanding on the part of priests about marriage. They understand the theology / doctrine of marriage. Yes. Perfectly. But not the psychology, poetry and mystery of marriage which is vital to a happy, holy and proper one-flesh (body, mind and soul) marriage. Perhaps one reason why there are hardly any Catholic saints. Because so many Catholic couples haven't been exposed properly to the psychology, poetry and mystery of marriage. So to fix this, we need more happily married Catholics to instruct and inspire other Catholics on the psychology, poetry and mystery of marriage. And to encourage people to focus on more devotion to The Holy Spirit Our Advocate who wants to make saints out of ALL married couples (and all Catholics in general).
