SPOILER FOR END OF TSOA The ending did kill me, but I have to remind myself that at least Patrochilles are happily together;-; and that helped me not cry so much. But tbh I cried before I even got to the end, because I didn’t think about how the Greeks went to the underworld where they were still “alive” in away, as spirits. But perhaps they’re resting in the Fields with the other heroes. Freaking love this ship, and this is a wonderful song!!

Hi it’s been a while since you posted this. And yes that makes me happy and usually stops me from having a breakdown. 😭 but I have pity for Achilles mom so much. She’s a god and there’s no telling how long she might live. So it might be eons before she can see her son again. And yeah Ik she was hella homophobic but yeah. 😭

this book i swear. this book has given me my yearly dose of anxiety in just two weeks of reading. I've suffered from post book depression when I havent even finished reading it. I've written poems of their tragic love and I'm still not over this book. and I am rereading it to fill the void achilles and patroclus left in me. it was kind of a bittersweet ending and a satisfying one, and I also anticipated that its going to end really really sad but that still did not prepare me for the pain.

@@dylanmorales450 im not gonna post the entire poem here cuz im afraid ppl will steal it. this is also an alternate ending i imagined where achilles died first and patroclus lived. here is a snippet of a poem entitled: Achilles it was only then when i heard the waves of the sea clash against the rocks that we once sat on. that i realized the sea goes on even without our presence beside them. and it was only then that i truly felt alone when the nights turned colder like the winter's falling after the chilly nights of autumn. and there was no you beside me when i turn to look for warmth. achilles, achilles, achilles. how i ever went on without you how i ever woke up in the morning without your face to look at to. and how i even lingered this long, i do not know. only then that i truly understand the only thing that is worse than you being gone forever is the regret i have knowing i could've done something to prevent it. but the worst thing is that there is nothing i could do more but live with the bitterness of regret forever.

I've been listening to this song for years now; I put it on and immediately I'm curled up against the window of a rental bus, snowy road and noisy kids, taped together headphones... thirteen-ish, not very happy. It fit when I was questioning, it fit when I came out---it'll always fit. I return to this at least once a week. This is the most hauntingly beautiful, perfect thing that I have ever heard, and it keeps the memories and pain fresh. It has been seven years since I first read TSOA, and seven years since I first stumbled upon this song, but every time I hear that first chord, all the memories just flood my mind and I end up in tears. Beautifully composed and written! I can imagine this song played as the credits roll of my imaginary version of the movie in the future. I loved the book, and I love your song, but I wish you could purify your voice and the sound of the music.
