On telly in 1998, I was with my mum and I used to record random songs on my VHS cassette. I pressed REC and was blown away how everything about them was UNIQUE. Since that day my life and music taste was divided into before and after Hanson.

I remember it like it was yesterday. It was the Summer of 97. I was 13, sitting in the garden sunbathing with my CD Walkman listening to Oasis’ What’s The Story Morning Glory (we had limited choices in our house) which I was utterly bored of. I also had a book which I was trying to read but I wasn’t really interested in that either. My best friend lived 2 doors away and she had her bedroom windows open and as soon as she played MMMBop full blast, I was completely blown away by the song. It was love at first listen. I didn’t know what it was but I immediately went round her house to find out. I have loved Hanson’s music ever since. They are so talented and have grown into mature musicians but unfortunately not everyone can see past this one amazing song to enjoy the other wonderful music they are still making.

I was 11 years old, like Zac ♥️, and one day my sister came home with a yellow borrowed cassette, and she played it in our room. It was Middle of Nowhere, that was the first time I knew about Hanson. My dad just had this new thing called Internet at his office, so we went to his office and looked photos and info about Hanson. That was the first use I gave to the internet. I'm from Mexico so I didn't understand well the lyrics, but I wanted to understand them, and wanted to understand every interview, so thanks to Hanson I payed more attention to my English classes at school.

I was 13. It was 1997. The moment I laid eyes on this band, I knew. I just knew this was my happy place. This was not a phase. The music these three men have made over the last 30 years together have been the soundtrack to my life. Every high, every low that I have had, I have a Hanson song to go with it. I have followed this band for 25 years now and they are still my happy place. The fans of this band have become a family to each other. For as catchy as MMMBop is, there is an entire catalog of music to dive into. Every song is deep and intoxicating. We are very fortunate that they continued to do what they love all of these years and have shared it with the world. Hold on to the ones who really care. ❤️💚💙

That made you emotional? All I could think about was how strange it was. You're talking about 5:35 "Your parents sacrificed so much for your guys' career" "That's kind of a rare quality" Gets emotional 🤔 That's so strange. He honestly thinks it's rare for parents to make sacrifices for their children and their future? Obviously not all children are musicians, but sacrifice is part of being a parent. It's more rare for parents to not make sacrifice for the benefit of their children. Such a weird thing for him to think that's rare. Shows a bit of the out of touch life those boys have lived

I think it's sad that only in the late 90s and early 2000s they were mainstream. They are such creative individuals that it's absurd that they're not mainstream to this day. However, the path they decided to take still made them successful and admirable. It saddens me that people who think their fans are nuts for "liking those Mmmbop boys."

I've been a fan for years and seen them several times. I think it's better they fell out of the mainstream. They really enjoy contracting with the fans and are so appreciative. I first heard it from my daughter, who, at the time, was a doe- eyed young teenager heavily infatuated with Taylor Hanson! But they always made me listen to music they REALLY liked (and vice versa) and the first few notes I heard instantly made me want to start tapping my foot. Then i was bobbing my head and i thought wow! This one is catchy, puts me in a good mood right away, and made me want to listen to it continuously. It WAS really really good! I still play it to this day. And turn it up loud! The congo's drew me in big time. Such talent surprised me because I grew up in the 70s - the most iconic decade ever! So to make me a life long fan of that entire album, but esp this song, was a monumental win for my daughter! Glad she made me listen!!

It’s refreshing to see that they seem to have dodged the pitfalls that international fame and fortune at such an early age is the sad fate of many of their peers in the industry, and must have had a very strong and protective family to keep them grounded. I was in my 30’s when this song was released, and I’m 56 now, and the lyric, which never really caught my attention so much as the energy of the song did when it was new and I was young, now hit home. I’ve lost family members, friends, lovers and beloved pets; my own children are grown and flown and following their own paths independently. Whenever this song comes on the radio it takes me back to happy times and memories. 25 years - gone in an mmbop.

It's fun to see Hanson all grown up and not being all goofy like they were as kids, looking back at the whole thing as these well rounded, articulate adults. I had only clicked on this out of faint curiosity and ended up watching the whole thing. The 90s were my teen years and I thought it was an annoyingly catchy song, but now I really respect it for all that it was and is. It's actually quite remarkable that some kids came up with it, and it's pure because they did, and the song is actually pretty deep if you you want to really look at it. My kids really like it too, so it's a pretty timeless song now. Dare I say, a classic. As old now as the 1950s music that Hanson would have cut their teeth on back in the early 90s, believe it or not.

There are so many incredible things about this band, the deeper you go the more amazing it gets. I feel they are above the mainstream music industry. They are themselves, they were since the start, them and the music, having fun. They are prodigies but didn't use it as an excuse to be full of themselves, they didn't try to impress with some kind of super human image. They grew up with screaming fans in their face but didn't lose their head. They were child stars but worked so so hard and kept creating and evolving for decades, just them and their music AND a nice community, starting from their home town that they never left. Just like Adam Young from Owl City, who toured the world but never forgot his roots and never lost his head or his creativity and unique vibe. These are the people that show you that family matters, that young prodigies need values and support instead of being used for profit. (They could have been THE boyband with their talent and looks). These types of people show you you don't have to sell your soul to be successful and yes, you can be successful and have it all without making the headlines all the time.

I was older than I care to admit when MMMBop came out, so I wasn't exactly the target audience they were probably aiming for, but, man, that's a damn fine song. MMMBop is the kind of song that transcends its era and will continue to be enjoyed for a long, long time.

I remember seeing Hanson for the first time on the Rosie show and seeing guys my own age playing in a band with such a hooky song, that was it! I’ve been on this crazy ride with them for 25 years, through the highs and the lows, and I’m so glad I’ve stuck with them. They’re such an amazing band!

I showed my young teen sons their video, too, just to let them know what’s possible with a bit of work, a bit of luck and talent made out of love of music. They listen to Volbeat and the like, but I’m working on expanding their tastes (Volbeat was my fault, after all). I grew up with the Righteous Brothers and Elvis in my living room and listen to everything from Big Band to Godsmack. And I mean everything. If it has stringed instruments, I listen to it: Mozart to Metallica, Country, Pop, Folk, Sinatra to Whitesnake, and beyond. I don’t do Rap unless you count Linkin Park and Faith No More - although Run DMC was a possibility back in the day ‘cuz Aerosmith. These guys are the real deal, the way it should be done. And I’m not even a fan. 😀

I've always thought they must have great parents, to be as humble and kind as they are. Especially, when they were huge. They never seem to let it get to their heads. They always seemed to think of themselves as just regular guys, who happen to be very fortunate.

I feel like I know them. All these years of great memories. When I first found them I was pretty depressed. Everytime I heard them I felt good. It was amazing.... They've always been so humble. Very sweet and talented. I think it was part of the appeal. They didn't seem polished. Just regular kids who also happened to be super talented. Kids identied with them. They have always been so appreciative of everything they have. I've met Isaac and Zac once and Taylor twice. The second time I met Taylor I was actually able to put some words together lol. He made a point to look me in the eyes as I told him, thank you for all the great memories they've given me, and thanked me back. ❤️💜 Love them forever.

I was an adult when Hanson hit the scene in 1997. For me, MMMBOP became my favorite song when I learned the lyrics, learned about the biblical references and deep meaning to the song. I will always be a fan of their music and wish them continued success. I'm thankful I got to see them in concert twice, I won't be able to see them in concert ever again though so I'm kinda sad about that. Edit, here in TX they meaning the concert venue can't ask for negative test or proof of 💉. So that's awesome!

I remember when MMBop hit. I was 30 something, raising my family and constantly being bombarded by music I didnt like. Then I heard MMBop. I was smitten then and have been to this day. I still love it and the Hanson boys. Hahaha my kids use to tease me about liking you. But never fear, I put your CD on the recorder on continuous repeat. Before I was done, they all loved you too. Now we are inducting the grandkids. And I still love you all.

I am in my early 50's now and still love their music. I am so glad they wrote that song and it became a hit single. I wasn't a female teen fan. I was an female adult fan of the gorup. They did well and I believe continue to do well. Well done!
