I think the melfi scene is significant because it shows how painful it was for tony to actually confront his inner demons. Dr. Melfi was always the biggest gangster on this show. We never noticed it because she was the opposite of Tony's mom. Always thought had Tony B not messed up with going "rogue" (killing Billy Leotardo etc) he would have tried taking over as Boss eventually. There's a scene with him, Angelo Garepe and Rusty Millio that was set in the casino I think it was that T gave Blundetto to run, Angelo gifts him a plaque that Tony B hangs up that says "You're the Boss". The facial expression on Tony B was suspicious to me. Not to mention Tony B was tougher than T (Did many years in prison etc) he was also genuinely well liked by the crew whereas we see T rules by fear and his "family" don't really care for him (there's quite a few scenes that show this). In the future if he challenged this after being "Made" I think he would have more supporters than Tony S. Of course this is just my opinion and Chase went with the storyline he did 😊

So used to seeing "Animal Blundetto" thanks to all your vids I'd probably be confused if i see him referred to as "Tony B...", or to a lesser extent, "Tony Uncle Al!"

You can tell he didn’t originally say “Goons.” He probably said “a couple of Coons jumped me.”

That could save you from getting fired from your job today. No I said Goons not Coons. Oh, well we can't cancel you then.

Behind the scenes- he really did just need some Pinot and really was having a panic attack..but from all the coke. RIP J Gandolphini. one of my favorite actors ever. I’m glad you weren’t around to see the abomination they made your son star in.

As has been pointed out, Melfi enabled the hit on Animal, because before her therapy relieved Tony's guilt about his own collapse and abandonment, he was protecting and favouring Animal (2:36) because he felt morally obligated. (Obv the cousin/family thing means nothing.) Once that was gone, Animal was just another soldier.

0:53 Georgie was this close to getting a savage beating just for putting something near Tony. And no we know he was one of the sorrows in Tony’s life LOL

I cant even say his name - In a way, the animal was responsible for everything that went wrong for Tony, the war with lupertazzi and so on.

I wanted to listen to Toots and the Maytals. I compromised. I listened to Johnny Sac cry at his daughter's wedding instead.
