Meadow knows how rich and privileged she is. She begins to select her company vigorously from an early age - hence her mentioning that she stopped talking to Steve. She is very aware of the situation she's in and that's why she knows how her parents operate so well. Also, she ends up doing civil work because she is very conscious of her position in society. She wins her mum over by saying "It's painful to talk about" (#GirlProblems). Then she knows Tony just wants to get it over and done with, as he himself previously mentioned, so she throws a light punishment out there and he ate it right up. This bitch trashed her grandma's house, got wasted, slept until she woke up, made herself some breakfast and negotiated a way to still get paid as a punishment - she knows a little less money than she usually gets isn't that bad, especially for just 3 weeks. Doing her dad proud. Sometimes I feel like Meadow is all of Tony's strengths and AJ is all of his weaknesses. Side note - the writers for this show must be from another planet to write six whole seasons of amazing television

betatalk357 She was a Mafia sympathizer, despite being aware of their disgusting actions. She wasn't a good person. Just like her mother, she was happy to live a life of luxury which was directly funded by the misery of others.
@sebastiangomezletelier13679 жыл бұрын
+betatalk357 that's exactly the point with the sopranos family, a vicious circle of power and luxury sostained by violence and extortion. Both kids grew up tolerating crime and indulging in the profits of it. While Meadow could manipulate the guilt of his parents, AJ would explore the realms of indiference and what really drive me nuts is the hypocresy of believing themselves to be kinda social justice warriors later in they'er lives, Meadou with all the law and moralizing bullshit and AJ with extrapolating his anxieties on a war with words he doesn't even understands. Tony and Carmela had the kids they deserved

The Guess Who was a Canadian band. For me the song American Woman was not necessarily about American Women in particular, but about American culture in general. Sometimes Canadians feel that American culture overshadows Canadian culture. They are a little defensive about that, at least that has been my experience with some Canadians.

The big defining moment for Meadow in this story arc is not the hour of evading responsibility and mocking empty punishment. The defining moment is the final scene when Tony walks into the Grandmother's house and she is on her knees, ready to puke, as she cleans the floor. She was touched by the chaos she had created and she had remorse. That's my take.

"I think you should take away my Discover card?" Seriously??? I never even had a Discover card growing up! Negotiating punishment? That's bullsh*t. Explaining a punishment is one thing, but negotiating? Never. I screwed up once (stupid mistake), and I suggested some punishment to my dad. He shut that down permanently: "I take care of punishing, not you! You don't negotiate your punishment! I decide it!" Considering he once booted me in the ass (I deserved it), I wasn't about to argue.
