Meadow knows how rich and privileged she is. She begins to select her company vigorously from an early age - hence her mentioning that she stopped talking to Steve. She is very aware of the situation she's in and that's why she knows how her parents operate so well. Also, she ends up doing civil work because she is very conscious of her position in society. She wins her mum over by saying "It's painful to talk about" (#GirlProblems). Then she knows Tony just wants to get it over and done with, as he himself previously mentioned, so she throws a light punishment out there and he ate it right up. This bitch trashed her grandma's house, got wasted, slept until she woke up, made herself some breakfast and negotiated a way to still get paid as a punishment - she knows a little less money than she usually gets isn't that bad, especially for just 3 weeks. Doing her dad proud. Sometimes I feel like Meadow is all of Tony's strengths and AJ is all of his weaknesses. Side note - the writers for this show must be from another planet to write six whole seasons of amazing television

While Meadow could manipulate the guilt of his parents, AJ would explore the realms of indiference and what really drive me nuts is the hypocresy of believing themselves to be kinda social justice warriors later in they'er lives, Meadou with all the law and moralizing bullshit and AJ with extrapolating his anxieties on a war with words he doesn't even understands.
