Wrong time wrong place. It never made sense to me as to why law abiding citizens and doctors would high stakes gamble with murdering mobsters. Then you have a knucklehead like Richey scaring off the high end clientele. You would think Tony would have him whacked for potentially ruining a high dollar income with such a long lived legacy. Richey never truly assimilated to life outside of prison. The mob life is more crude on the inside and more quiet, subtle and low key on the outside.

Ritchie's Evel Eyes was the only reason he got that part, the producer thought Ritchie's Short Stature would make it hard to buy Ritchie as Tony's biggest threat, the part of Ritchie, was actually about to go to Ed O'Neill, "Al Bundy" Which would have been hard to buy him as Italian, but he's a big guy, who they thought would be a believable threat to Tony. Ed was relieved he didn't get the part, after finding out he'd eventually have to Marry Tony's sister Janice, he said he was already Married to a useless Woman just like her, Peggy Bundy!

Absolutely. A series as fleshed out as the Sopranos requires a lot of viewings and a lot of paying attention to really follow it all. My wife and I are rewatching the whole series and I’ve definitely found that these short clips have helped me to finally feel like I’m tracking all the story lines. Johnny Sac is a good example. I never really understood until now that part of John Sacrimone’s stated role as Lupertazzi Underboss was that he was to be liaison to the New Jersey family on construction and other things. That’s why we see a NY guy like John spending so much time in Jersey and with the Soprano guys.

I think David Proval deserves a lot more of the credit for putting The Sopranos on the map. Gandolfini gets to shine when he has a true acting equal. If there wasn't Richie to make Tony more empathetic to us viewers for why he had to be the monster he was...I don't know if the show works ultimately. You had to believe he had no choice but to be like he was to keep psychos and maniacs like Richie at bay. It took a hell of an actor to pull that off. Some cheesey B side mob movie extra wasn't gonna make that happen. I love hating Richie. David Proval killed the role

To me one of the greatest parts of writing Richie's dialogue is that he basically always has a valid point, and he spent energy carefully explaining his valid points to others. If you take out how crazy and aggressive and shitty he is, you are left with a very logical guy, which is why I think the other characters struggled to make a dent on him. Fascinating writing, truly fascinating writing. Even though he is obviously a bad vibe and he's gotta go at some point, in a wonderfully twisted way he is actually a very sympathetic character.

Well in this case he was both right and wrong. Right in the fact that the guy should never have been allowed into the game but unless he told Tony the guy owed him money why would Tony say no. Even so, it was STILL an indirect favor to Tony, as Tony had not realized yet the guy wouldn't be good for it. Tony's lack of judgment letting the guy into the game can be seen as the root cause of the problems, as opposed to Richie's aggressions.

You got to think a bit to be a good gangster. You know what Capone was buried in for? Tax evasion. They could not get him on any other thing. Those early bossess? Sure some of them ended up in piecies but some of them were never prosecuted. Why? Cuz they outsmarted the government.
