One of the few people tony actually cared for outside his family. That scene of him crying at the tv in the bing is one of the few times he shows true sadness.

That second to last visit in the hospital, that's when Tony realized he didn't have to bullshit anymore, Jackie was gone and he's the new boss. People forget that Tony never, ever cared about anyone except himself, everything he did was a lie. This is shown at the very end of the video, Tony tosses in a minimum of dirt and stares as if saying "f you, my turn you prick"

Huge difference between season 1 and 6 Tony. I think Tony genuinely really cared for Jackie Senior and he was probably the only guy Tony at his age then would accept as his boss.

Jackie was the Boss of their teenaged crew, so Tony was also used to obeying him. He also respected him as a hardcore gangster and he was apparently a fair leader - so this combined with them being best friends - why not? Everything worked out at the end of the day when Jackie ran the show

The reason for the change, the director didn't like ppl , liking tony, hence why he becomes more deplorable as the series went on, can't remember exactly what he sead but somthing in the lines off, ppl really like him, but he's a mobster he shouldn't be liked , so I've made it where you really see his ugly side more and more to the point you start to hate him, !!!! @@darthsidioustheemperor7976Yeah you can really tell that by Season 6 David Chase really wanted to emphasise how toxic these characters (especially Tony and Christopher) actually are. As well as how miserable the mafia life truly is. It was definitely a necessary direction given how much of the audience completely missed the point of the show beforehand (and somehow still managed to after Season 6 to this day).

It's funny how much power leaves your body when you feel fragility become apparent...You'll all understand it eventually, but when you feel it as a young person, it changes you in ways that you never imagined. It's quick, terrifying, visceral, and ruthless. It might be a dumb video to be making this point, but honestly, there is no good place to make this point without pissing people off, especially if you're young. All I can say is, be happy that you have a healthy body, and do everything you can to ensure that it stays that way. I surprises me how no one has commented how accurate the representation of the last stages of cancer is in this depiction. I lost my mother to it and it really struck my heart seeing how fast it went. When Jackie was just babbling nonsense it can be played as humorous, but it’s actually pretty real and it usually happens during the last days, it’s pretty sad. And that feeling of never knowing when said person is gonna leave this world, the fear of not being there when they do…

Notice at 4:15 Tony tries to cut in with what happened at the motel to lighten the mood. It’s a sign of him not wanting to deal with the current situation. Seeing someone he respect broken down like that. Compare this scene to the scene with Uncle June at the end of the series. Once he realizes the Uncle June was really gone. He does the same thing and leaves after.

Just like most people, I've seen all the mafia movies and tv series. They have such nice lifestyles... they don't "work", instead they are basically hanging out all day. Coffee shops, strip clubs, restaurants, home, resorts, etc etc. I envy that lifestyle. These films make you sympathize with many of the characters and when they die, naturally you feel bad for the passed and for the grief the others experience. However, they lived like kings and bullied, harassed, took advantage of, and enjoyed. For this, I do not feel as bad for their deaths. There is no "good" criminal. There is no criminal who deserves what he has. That includes politicians.
