Pro-life advocate Seth Gruber joins the podcast to shed light on the evil history of Planned Parenthood and its founder, Margaret Sanger. Seth discusses how Sanger’s dubious connections, advocacy for eugenics, and promotion of abortion started the cultural shift toward widespread approval of abortion, transgenderism, LGBTQ+ activism, and the culture of death we now find ourselves in.

We pro-lifers, for almost 50 years, had, as one of our goals, the overturning of Roe. We thought that, when Roe is overturned, the issue would be returned to the individual states, and that most, if not all, states would make it illegal. How deluded we were! It never crossed most of our minds that many states would put forth ballot measures to enshrine abortion into their state constitutions, as we have in this year's election cycle! We have a big, uphill fight to fight!

I’m surprised states like South Carolina didn’t do it. No one expected California or New York (where they quit charging the murder of a pregnant woman with double murder) to do so.

Our opposition is funded by folks with very deep pockets. In this interview Seth mentioned several of the world's wealthiest people funding Sanger and others of her ilk. We're facing the same thing today. In AZ, for just one example, left activists are getting paid in the $25-30/hr range to collect signatures to qualify for the ballot. It makes being active ourselves that much more important. Volunteer whatever time you can to fight the crazy.

The pro-life establishment lied about a lot. The big one is that Roe wasn’t law and states never had to follow it. (Wisconsin had gone against the fugitive slave ruling back in the day. ) Pro-life also lied about “how they were winning” the minds of the next generation. - send money. Lots of money made off the backs of the children all the way around. The political / pro-life circle is horrible. A video of Rusty Thomas and Tony Lawanger? Is super eye opening. Really horrifying. The state of OK. With about 1 democrat in all of congress. But they keep the prolife/ political money making wheel going. It’s horrifying.

Alisa should have an Abolitionist on her podcast. I have been listening to & following Seth for awhile & REALLY appreciate his work. But I believe his reducing the differences to just “incrementalism” vs “immediatism” is too simple & doesn’t represent Abolitionism well. What I really admire about the Abolitionists is their commitment to the Gospel. They don’t want to change minds, they want to change hearts through the Gospel. They don’t want to just end abortion, they desire for hearts to be turned toward Christ in the process. I think it would serve Alisa well to bring that perspective to her channel.

I agree. I've been listening to a lot of abolitionist content lately due to my increasing level of frustration with those who call themselves pro-life. I appreciate Seth's boldness on this issue so much, but sadly he is an outlier in the pro-life movement and is "extreme" in their view. The fact is, the pro-life movement is weakened by their refusal to call for the criminalization of abortion - meaning if a woman takes an abortion pill, she is a criminal guilty of murder. Seth differs from the majority of the pro-life establishment on this issue. And there are states where abortion could be abolished right now if not for the pro-life movement killing the abolitionist bill because of this issue. In those cases, I don't think you can really call yourself pro-life...that's why I prefer the term abolitionist, whether it's a "redefining" of the word or they're all "jerks" or not. Having a discussion with an abolitionist would certainly provide a balanced approach here, and I'm confident you can find a nice one... 😉

It would be very helpful to have Jeff Durbin on to give a balanced perspective of the Abolitionist position since he was named directly. It is really easy to have divisions in the Church over this, and we need to have an open and honest discussion being represented respectfully on both sides. “The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.” Prov 18:17

I usually cannot dedicate a full hour (in this case a little more), to listen to these podcasts all the way through in one shot. Usually, I have to break it up. But I was glued to this conversation. I'm not even heavily involved in the pro-life movement, but it is a subject matter that grieves me. I knew a lot of the history of Margaret Sanger, but Seth shared information I had not heard before and made connections that so much of what's going on makes sense as to why it's happening. Thank you, Alisa, for having the courage to talk about this subject. Seth was right - as Christians, we MUST talk about things that are uncomfortable. The Western church has become way too complacent and more of the world than of the things of Christ.

Friend, what is our standard for our thoughts, words and deeds? Is it not righteousness? Friend, the means have to be righteous. The question is not foundationally whether it is incremental or immediatist, but rather is it righteous. Are we pursuing God's righteous goals using righteous means? What is our highest goal? Is saving preborns be our highest goal? Please don't misunderstand me. The Lord distilled the law of God down to the 1st and 2nd Greatest Commandments. Yet is not God's glory our highest goal? My concern is that in our zeal to rescue our pre-born neighbors, we might become what Proverbs 25:26, says: "Like a trampled spring and a polluted well Is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked."

Between the disrespectful whining and effeminate voices that he employed to ‘give voice’ to the opposing side, the profoundly arrogant tone of addressing pastors, the name-calling, and the complete inability to stay on topic, he was absolutely everything we teach our logic / debate students NOT to be. Lots of great information, but there are a few reasons I am not sharing it. But the discussion near the end regarding church discipline is out of proper biblical context. The context of church discipline would apply if both Seth and Jeff were in the same church or at least the same denomination. But they are both in active public ministry. Durbin publicly calling for repentance in response to the actions made in the public arena. Although this is an important issue I find it unfortunately that some can let a specific evil of abortion to overshadowed the Gospel. All fall short of the glory of God apart from Christ Jesus. And as somebody who ministers to new agers. occultists and cult members the use of the term "metaphysical" would be a stumbling block for those coming out of backgrounds such as these.

Regarding political involvement... Jesus as The Way never appealed to Rome. He never tried to get Cesar or Roman officials to pass new laws that would bring about His Kingdom or improve morality around Him. He did not advocate for his disciples to take political action or to become political leaders. He told Peter to put down the sword. Instead of using politics Jesus did something way more beautiful. He gave us the Kingdom of God that transcends all earthly kingdoms. It's living under and through His new law that allows hearts to be changed and societies to be transformed. We can care for the marginalized, poor, single mothers, and unborn through Jesus's Kingdom without casting votes and tying ourselves to earthly political parties that don't line up with Jesus.
@aaronvienot
@aaronvienot 24 күн бұрын
You may not get a lot of love for saying all that, but I believe you are correct. Many modern Christians are completely ignorant of early Christian history when it comes to political un-involvement -- or at most, discount it because "that was a dictatorship so whatever." Yet they effectively turned an empire upside down by preaching the gospel, suffering as martyrs, and living in contrast the social norms. As just one example, in Rome, post-partum abortion was one of the many social evils: an unwanted infant was placed in a basket on the front doorstep to die of exposure, and this was allowed. The Christians became known for rescuing and adopting these children. Instead of changing the culture by political outreach, they knocked it sideways by demonstrating sacrificial love for the culture's victims.
@cedarbrooknut
@cedarbrooknut 23 күн бұрын
Jesus never did that because he couldn't do that. Roman law does not work in any way similar to the US. Normal Roman citizens didn't vote and had no say in laws at all. We have the wonderful privilege in America that we can be involved in those ways. In my opinion to not engage or participate is to waste a gift that has been given to us. I have not thought it fully through, so I have no opinion on this point, but could it even potentially be sinful to have the ability to help and not do it? Sin of ommission? Something to consider. What you say is true about living as citizens of heaven(I am paraphrasing), but it does not mean we shouldn't use every avenue to create and support laws that protect life or support other things we believe as Christians. To use the argument "Jesus didn't do A, B, or C..." just doesn't work. He had a very specific earthly mission, and that was His focus. As the body of Christ, we can serve more broadly.

It helps to understand that eugenics was basically adopted by all 'right thinking' individuals of the era. It was not looked upon as a fringe idea. If you were highly educated it was to some degree almost expected you would embrace and advocate for it. Economically speaking, whether you were on the C-side or the F-side, the 'inferior races' were viewed as impediments to their ends so it was not exactly a real point of disagreement between the two factions. That said, it was not Sanger they lauded, it was the two eugenicists she was associated with, and AFAIK they were not communists

What a slippery, fast talker! Why do I get the strong sensation that he's pulling the wool over our eyes, mixing truth and falsehood?

You cover such important issues, but your constant advertising throughout the video takes away from what you are doing. I watch probably ten other Christian channels, Sean McDowell, Melissa Doughtry, and none of them have advertising. I am going to be unsubscribing.
