My Mom was one of the first 'costumers' who walked the steps through the entire ride every morning to check the outfits on the animatronic characters 😍

This video outlines the primary purpose of Disney's EPCOT Center (not to be confused with EPCOT - which is sad that Disney has dropped the 'Center' part ) I love all of this information behind things that were inspired by Walt and his dreams. These are some of the best times of the Walt Disney Company.

funny you said that, I am 35 and still call it EPCOT Center.

I still call it EPCOT Center too. I remember when they first opened it still. I’m 41.

the narrator sounds so familiar, and then it hit me: he does the narration in the universe of energy!
@fanboy20158 жыл бұрын
I believe the narrator is actor Vic Perrin, who did the original narration of this ride.
@epaddon Жыл бұрын
It's Vic Perrin who narrated the dino film portion of "Universe of Energy" but not the ride portion. That narrator is still unknown.
@epaddon10 жыл бұрын
The narrator at the beginning is Vic Perrin, the famous "Control" voice from "Outer Limits" who also narrated the original version of the attraction from 1982 to 1986 when the more fondly remembered Walter Cronkite "Tomorrow's Child" narration program replaced it through 1994.
@fanboy20159 жыл бұрын
For a long time I thought it was Burgess Meredith.
@ejmernestine39859 жыл бұрын
epaddon It is not Vic Perrin. It's Lawrence Dobkin. Take a look at his entry on Wikipedia.
@epaddon9 жыл бұрын
EJM Ernestine No, it is Vic Perrin and Wikipedia is incorrect since they are going by a mistaken recollection of Marty Sklar. Dobkin narrated the "Hall of Presidents" attraction at WDW which you can also hear on YT and on the net and this voice is not him, it's Perrin (find the "Outer LImits" intro and you'll also hear that it is indeed Perrin).
@ejmernestine39859 жыл бұрын
Hmmm. OK, I always thought it sounded like Perrin until I recently learned of the Sklar "clarification". How bizarre that Sklar of all people would misremember. So while we're at it -- who was the narrator of Universe of Energy, the 1982 original version? I've never gotten a straight answer on that. Cheers!
@epaddon7 жыл бұрын
Perrin narrated the dino film before the main attraction, but he's not the narrator of the main attraction because that same narrator was brought back to do a minor upgrade in 1996 when the original program had to be temporarily run once again before the Ellen ride opened and by that point Perrin was dead.

It is so funny to hear about Bradbury's contribution to the project as Disney has grown up to perpetrate so many actions that he warned his readers about in his books and stories.

I really wish that Disney Company would take one section of Walt's Original EPCOT and make it a reality. Take a look at the "peddle" concept and see how wonderful it was designed. People movers from your front door to the transportation center to take you to another part of the property so you could work, get an education, play and shop there. What a place to live . EPCOT, the future of urban planning.

As Ray quoted Walt, Epcot was to be a permanent World's Fair with changes from within. No mention of a Experimental City Of The Future here. Glad to see Valerie Todd on this video. RIP Valerie.

The "leave a legacy" stones ruin the vista you used to experience when you enter the park. They're just ugly tombstones. And it's a cash grab. Bad idea, Disney.

There still doesn't seem to be a video of the original ride that existed from October 1982 to May 1986, although there is an audio recording which is on one of MartinsVids channel videos. If anyone has a video of the original ride, it would be great to see it.

That's the opening track from the original EPCOT Main Entrance medley that played for 18 years from 1982 to 2000. That first track is a variation of the song "Energy You Make The World Go Round" from the original Universe Of Energy show in that pavilion.

Very dull ride...I remember riding this was I was 9 years old and I was bored....I thought both Epcot and Disney were HIGHLY overrated parks and have no intention of going there again.....long waits, glorified fair rides, very expensive food.....The park is clean and nice, but not worth the $100 a day per person ticket.....
