I lived there for 10 yrs was married to a Spaniard i think this lovely couple give very good and valid advice about everyday stuff and show nice and poorer traditional parts of Spain , have to say when i lived there paperwork was so slow im sure things are much the same as Uk now , Spain is lovely the people are so friendly Viva Espana ❤

@ScottishCoupleInSpain aw bless you for the acknowledgement when it's very hot next time have yourselves a very Spanish treat drive to Chirles just outside Benidorm way to a lovely cool restaurant built into the rock and waterfall you drive down and down a gulley type road they have built a pool for t he kids think its called El Moli de Chirles x

@ScottishCoupleInSpain sorry spelling is wrong it's El Moli' de Xirles near Polop website shows the pool so it's the right one gosh they have built an indoor wedding banquet room , but I ate outside food was outdoors griddle then it was so cool down there out of the sun 36 years ago lol

Love this 🥰you two need to get a book or something sorted too, like a manual to navigating life in Spain 🤩 Thing is, if you decide to relocate anywhere you need to embrace EVERYTHING, the good and the bad. There are a lot of things that drive me bonkers here and I’m sure I’m not alone saying that but there is so much good. The world is a very different place these days and not much is easy but what we have found here is that there is generally a solution to everything and you’re not often met with a straight out NO. Granted it might take months for anything to happen but things happen……..eventually😂Life is expensive but we try our best to give back and support local as much as we can. If anyone ever feels like challenge try living in Italy, that will test your metal 😂I’m Italian so I’m allowed to say that 🤗

Its a valid issue where local Spaniards are concerned when it comes to not being able to afford to buy property in their own country/ area. Is it justified to blame richer foreigners for creating that situation? Well perhaps so. I'm not qualified to speak on the matter except to say that it is a real concern for Spanish people living in their own country and it is causing some animosity towards foreigners coming to settle in Spain and having the capital to afford the price being asked for property that may or not be inflated because of the fact that foreigners are also being exploited to a degree. So who do we blame for the situation? The Spanish realestate companies for over pricing or the foreigners for having the money to spend? I fully understand why the locals may feel the way they do but what's the solution? Your guess is as good as mine. Cheers for sharing

The thing i cant understand is why brits come to live in Spain and then try to recreate pub life like they had in UK . Im Irish, before i came to Spain i lived in a very rural part of Cork, absolutely loved it. We love ve just outside a village in Almeria, rural area, and we love it, we've got two friends that we go out every couple weeks with for a meal. We're not drinkers nor do we want to congregate with lots of brits. I am particular about types of friends, loud boisterous mouthy northeners are not our cup of tea. I understand everyone has thier way, so if coming to Spain to live choose friends or neighbors wisely❤

A huge part of it is having a language in common. Learning Spanish is difficult ( for a lot of people anyway) and being able to just chat and have a simple conversation goes a long when you are in a foreign country. It doesn’t all have to revolve round drink. Integrating in to your local Spanish community is a great thing, but for some people that can be very difficult to achieve.

Good video. I and my wife enjoy a little quiet time, so we'd be fine with a couple of hours in the afternoon. Even though they say being retired, everyday is a Saturday, we fine ourselves almost always busy with something. Waiting for the gov change in January, here in the US. That may shorten our timeline, moving to Spain. Sent you a beer, and we'll buy you two a beer in person next year.

😂😂😂 you really haven’t travelled about Spain have you? You walk into any local shop here people say hello to everyone as they walk into the shop. The Spanish are way more friendly than Brits back home in my opinion. Youth respect older generations. And you feel safe walking the streets at night. Anyways it’s all about opinions and all are welcome here.

I get the Spanish issue with 'richer' foreigners but maybe they need to give up their siestas and work a bit harder to earn the money. People in these up and coming countries forget that the trials of the those in richer countries is worse. Try and buy a house anywhere in Ireland. The UK is just as bad and I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I was 47 when I bought my first home in Dublin and it was an almighty struggle. Just get on with it

@@richy3084 What's the point ? In Spain the authorities rip you off with inheritance tax and the UK continues to rob you all the way through. Most important thing in my view is to enjoy your younger years because you can never put a price on your youth .In most cases money doesn't buy you hapiness.I think most Spaniards have the correct life work balance and on the whole they are more laid back and happier. I certainly regret working so hard in my younger days and in most cases when you get old you are not well enough to enjoy it, possibly widowed and family gone their own way...which is normal. Make the most of being a youngster @52 . Season's greetings Richy.
