Honestly imo the first TAMS game was absolutely bussin, only let down imo was the somewhat weak story (I still liked it but I see why others don’t) and most of all the web swinging. Web rush was a damn good idea though, would love for that to make a proper return one day

I don't really see the potential Like you get to decide if Spiderman swings from the left or right, so ? You can't add depth (I mean maybe you can but I really don't know how) to that Either there's no buildings on one side so obviously you're gonna swing on the other or there's building on both side so it doesn't matter. Even if they made the swinging better, it's just a gimmick and at the end of the day it's doesn't change much besides deciding on which side the animation is going to play The one good idea (that was already in TASM1) is web rush, it's still pretty cool but yeah not much player input during it sadly, I think the ledge system in Insomniac's is a good middle ground

I played TASM 2 too much due to it being the only Spider-Man game I had until PS4. While not a great game. I don't think it was horrendous, it looked like a very expensive indie game. The games combat was Arkham but worse and the storyline was all over the place (like the film but not as bad), and the VA for Spider-Man is next to WoS as the worst. But the swinging was pretty fun and going in the arcade to check collectables was cool. But the missions were you save people from a burning building were god awful, 0/10 better than Spider-Man 3

oh no lol, this shit came out in 2014 , and at the same time we had games like Batman Arkham series, even the graphics were dog shit for 2014 standards. I played this game only because a little spiderman fanboy in me urged me to play. Heck i thought giving it a second chance but this game is also horribly optimized, even with a 1660ti it ran horribly during cut scenes or quick time events in boss fights. And the story is also sub standard and final boss fight with carnage was more lackluster than Moon knight's ending.

In case you're wondering about Gwen, check out the description of the Electro-Proof costume, it basically says that he and Peter broke up, that's right, one of the best aspects of Andrew's Spider-Man was his chemistry with Gwen Stacy (not to mention the impact that her death had on him) and the game developers opted to throw her character completely out the window and the only mention you get of her or the only answer as to why she's not present is inside the description of the most random spidey costume, and it's as lazy as it sounds: "Gwen and I broke up".

Beenox was at their best when making linear Spider-Man games Activision shouldn't have shut down Shaba. Web of Shadows had an interesting direction for gameplay despite it having some flaws, would've been nice if Shaba got to build upon that and also given more time too

Yo I used to think this game was sooo fun back in the day. After the next Spider-Man game on PS4 came out actually didn’t like how the swinging felt compared to Amazing Spider-Man 2 but the more I played it the more I fell in love with it. I went back to the Amazing Spider-Man 2 about a year ago and realized how bad the game actually is😂. One thing I actually did like about the amazing Spider-Man 2 was the seismic blast and the little animation Peter does when he heals himself.

I've always liked both TASM and TASM 2 games. It's just a perfect combination of factors - I was 13, the movies were the biggest thing for me back then, I loved all the previous Spider-Man games as well as the Arkham games - TASM games were like a dream come true. I still come back to them from time to time. Shit,, I think imma finally complete the game 100%. I admit it is bad, even compared to TASM 1, but there's just something in this game that keeps me from hating it and just embracing the mediocrity.

I played this almost a decade ago and Kingpin is the only bossfight I remember because of Spidey laying on fat jokes to get Kingpin to lose his cool and come after him. As recent as this game is, it’s pretty amazing how Spider-Man fat shaming someone was okay. BTW, that moment was also taken straight from Ultimate Spider-Man (the comic, not the cartoon series where Spidey acts and behaves like an obnoxious KZbin human and has to make everything a joke)
