The Splatoon 3 Inkspedition: Bluefin Depot

Bluefin Depot was released in Splatoon 3's Chill Season 2023. It was the final map that was brought back from a past game, being ported over from Splatoon 1. While a lot of the other ported maps from Splatoon 1 have recieved a lot of criticism, the new version of Bluefin Depot is considered on par with its old version. In this Inkspedition we’ll explore some of the cool details of the map as well as how good it is to play on in turf war and the ranked modes. I can't wait to see horrors beyond my comprehension in this episode :3 The sad music and shaky/sad tone of host's voice is some interesting foreshadowing ... One corrupted. 3 to go. EDIT: Ok, time for theory time! Hear me out. The host isn't dead! if he was, his segment would've most likely just been staight up removed from the "alpha star" But instead, it's the same colour as wrath's. and wrath is alive is he not? What i think happened, is that the host is now fully corrupted by wrath. another thing to point out is that alpha stated in the comments that "the host's octo spirit never went to the respawn point", however we never saw it on screen in the first place. It never left his body. The host is still alive just no longer in control, much like alpha controling the host earlier in the series. Wrath has powers of which can rival alpha's e.g. summoning everyone to scorch gorge and reflecting alpha's control back at him. I wouldn't be suprised if this is wrath's way of controling the members. Since he doesn't have as much of a potent connection with the others, he has to physically do it, instead of alpha being able to telepathically do it from anywhere. idk maybe i'm just coping :P EditEDIT: 10:55 "I have the power to reverse anything that alpha does" Interesting... Side note: I love the use of coloured hearts in the replies alpha has been leaving, relating to characters. Like when wrath is canonically replying, the replies have a red heart. such a neat detail

Did I just get over my post-grandfest-letdown by watching an egotistical octoling have an existential crisis? Wow, I have weird coping mechanisms. But srsly, great, mildly disturbing video! I’ve been watching the lore since the story mode series, and I’ve loved every minute of it! From the voice acting to the storyline to the music he ACTUALLY CREDITS IN THE DESCRIPTION, this is by far my favourite presentation of character lore. Can’t wait for the next one!

From some analyzation this is what I THINK happened and what MAY happen To get probably an obvious one out the way, The Host of the Inkspedition (I'll refer to him as Host from now on) is most likely under control of Wrath now. I have 3 reasons for this, we'll go in order from least important to most. A. In the thumbnail we see that from left to right that the background color goes from a small amount of purple (the color of Alpha's pride) to a large amount red (the color of Alpha's wrath). It can be a subtle symbol to show that Host's being taken away from his part of Alpha's soul (Pride) and taken to the wrath of Alpha's soul. B. At the end of the video we see Host's part of Alpha's goes from purple to red, a more obvious sign of Host being taken over by Wrath. C. At 10:54, Wrath mentions being able to reverse anything Alpha does, but after looking at the other videos, not only can he reverse it and stop it. He can *USE* it. In the 'Ranked Splatoon 3 (Nuzlocke): The Birth of Wrath' at 14:23 we can see Alpha presumably try and control Wrath's soul and knock him unconscious before he does anything bad. However, Wrath then says "You're tricks won't work on ME" and what it looks like use Alpha's power AGAINST him and send them back, causing Alpha to start violently coughing and then pass out. The way Wrath emphasizes "Me" means that the others are easier to control compared to him. We have seen in the past before of the others falling for Alpha's abilities. Such as 'Playing the HARDEST LEVELS in Splatoon 3's story mode' at 13:33 we see Alpha tell Billy to take a couple of breaths and then take over Billy to complete the level for him. As well as 'The Splatoon 3 Inkspedition: Robo ROM-en' at 9:07 where Alpha takes over Host and attempts to shoot Dave to stop him from telling Host his past, ultimately ending up poisoning Travis. There's probably something Wrath is hiding if he's able to fight Alpha's will and the others can't. Now, since Wrath seems to be able to use Alpha's powers it can be most likely when at 11:00 Wrath mentions Host's soul being liberated he in the end just meant putting Host under a new ruler. Now we know all of that, but what may happen with the others? This part is all just assumption, but seeing how Wrath can put those with Alpha's soul in them under their control it wouldn't be a far-fetched idea for Wrath to take control of the last 2 with Alpha's soul, Kane (Splatlocke), and Billy. And if it's personal, USE them against Alpha to take control of them all. If that were to happen though.. I feel like Billy would be the next to fall... Despite learning about the truth, Kane still remained loyal to Alpha, working under his command, continued to make Splatlocke videos. However, he is also the one who knows Alpha's intentions behind keeping the truth away. So he'd be rather stubborn when it comes to giving into Wraths manipulation. Billy on the other hand, seems to have negative emotions towards Alpha after having the news broken. Billy's soul from Alpha however is filled with kindness, so having a grudge against Alpha wouldn't really seem likely, however being just sad instead of angry could be what Billy is feeling. Wrath can use that sadness, similar with Host, and manipulate Billy into joining him and Host If what I speculate is right, then I believe there'll be a battle between Alpha, and Splatlocke against Billy, Host, and Wrath. However I do see a chance of those with no part of Alpha soul partake in the fight. Dave I would say can be a likely option, though we haven't seen much of his fighting capabilities.. I don't know about Travis though due to him being shot with the poison and have it still affect him to this day. That's all my thoughts on this, thanks for reading! (Dear god that took a long time)

I'm not usually the type of person to comment on a KZbin video but... OH MY GOSH!!! THIS IS A MASTERPIECE!!! From the tone in the Host's voice, to the scenes with Travis and Dave and THE ENDING - forget the icing on the cake, this was the icing on 1,000 cakes. Theory time: at the end of the Lemuria Inkspedition someone says "Enjoy this series whilst it lasts". Before Wrath was introduced I thought it was Alpha but after this I think it might be Wrath who said it cos we see him at the end manipulate the Host into letting him free the Host from Alpha's control (I'm not buying it though, the Host's magenta colour turned to Wrath's red colour at the end so either the Host died or is now under Wrath's control). And it was Wrath who revealed the truth to everyone, despite - probably - knowing that everyone connected to Alpha could die as a result. NOW ALPHA, YOU BETTER CURE TRAVIS!!! YOU WEREN'T ON BLUEFIN WITH SPLATLOCKE FOR NO REASON (other than telling the Host what you told Splatlocke in the previous nuzlocke episode I'm guessing) AND I'VE GROWN WAY TOO ATTACHED TO THESE INKLINGS AND OCTOLINGS! Sorry for the long comment BTW but I came into the lore partway through, learned all about it and now can't get enough. I said it at the top of this comment and I'll say it again. THIS IS A MASTERPIECE!!!

He summoned Billy, the Host, Splatlocke and Alpha to Scorch Gorge where he revealed that Alpha created them all. Alpha tried to stop him but Wrath was unaffected by Alpha's powers and knocked him unconscious. Wrath is the one with the Charcoal Decavitator at the end manipulating the Host for an unknown reason. Hope this helps.
