The Spyderco Manix 2 is a staple of the Spyderco lineup and comes in various steels, scale materials, colors, etc. I have had several over the years, but this latest "sprint run" in REX 45 really caught my interest and I just had to pick it up... and so far I am pleased as burnt orange punch!

The Manix 2 checks a lot of the boxes. Ergos, looks, functionality, aesthetics. It is one of the quintessential knives from Spyderco. Great choice, great knife, great video, and that's a fantastic flashlight 😁

Great review, as you mentioned Spyderco is known for continuously making improvements in their runs which deserves more attention as you nailed it on the hammer which is it’s something that is learned but Spyderco doesn’t publicize very much or not often enough at all. I have been thinking of the Manix 2 a whole damn lot lately so I am truly glad to see you reviewing their sprint run and I am curious if it’s possibly smoother but the milled out liners speaks volumes for I like the original but the lightweight is so tempting and I feel this is the middle ground best in-between. Awesome color! I appreciate your sign off message “Be mild mannered towards everyone.” I may be slightly paraphrasing but it’s exactly what helps in times like these being nicer and more tolerable as much as possible even going as far as walking away from those troubled and stressed out individuals when ever they cross our path out there in germ land. be safe and Happy late Easter to you Brother, your videos are fresh even among all the other Knife stuff I watch so keep doing you!👍🏻🤘🏻

Greg, thank you for the very kind words and for your support of the channel. Your comment made my day. Being able to connect with cool members of the community like yourself, really is the best part of this whole KZbin journey. A little kindness and patience is always a good addition to any edc (corny but true). As to Spyderco and the Manix 2, both are top notch. I've been a Spyderco fan since my first Delica. The Manix is just a great everyday slicer, really hard to beat. As you noted, with the weight reduction and slightly smoother g10 it's an even more compelling option. Thanks again my friend, really glad to have you here!! Be well!

Mild Mannered EDC I am proud to say I will be finally pulling the trigger getting my first Spyderco! This amazing sprint run is out of stock on bladehq. Great things come to those who wait. 😈 I was wondering if on the earlier version in s30v doesn’t the blade have more cutting edge?! I most certainly be mistaking. I like it in rex45 though. May I ask what is the channel you mentioned with cutting tests and info for learning about steels.

Mild Mannered EDC Thanx, I was actually watching his video on Rex 45 and he also has funny videos in his playlist. I forgot the name of the playlist but the video was about how the Delica is completely irrelevant now with the P3/p3 lightweight and how life can go on better tossing the Delica out of our lives. Funny stuff and the info he also has goes in one ear and stays instead of some info out there where it goes in and out the other ear. Anyway, if I may trouble you with just one more question I’d like to ask a silly question: Is the Orange sprint run of the Manix 2 a limited run? I am obviously clueless and I am assuming Spyderco will restock the Manix in Rex 45 ..Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanx for taking me under your wing and tolerating a newb to the Knife game. 🤘🏻

Of the 2 I am much more a Manix 2 person than a PM2 person. Although the Native is more my go to choice than any of them. I was gonna get this one but it was sold out before I had a chance. Did get the Native Lightweight in REX 45 at least.

So I just bought the Boker Kalashnikov automatic, I love the way it feels in my hand , not a big fan of the black and red color scheme. I was never a leaf shape guy but after all the reviews and Spyder love in the EDC family I decided to try it out with my first (and recent) purchase a G10 Tenacious. Now I'm a fan! Since then I've gone back and forth between the Manix 2 and the Para 2. I have handled neither but am leaning toward the Manix 2. I agree, I think the ball lock system seems cooler than the compresssion lock (fidget factor). Thanks for another great review. BTW what do you personally think of the lightweight???
@mildmannerededc
@mildmannerededc 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I think if you're OK with a bit more with when closed, which I am, you'll really like the Manix as a slicer and fun edc. I've only handled the lightweight a few times, but liked it a lot. Manix can be a bit heavy so I definitely see the appeal of the lightweight model. I may just need to pick one up as well!!

A Manix or a Native 5, looking to get high cutting performance..
@mildmannerededc
@mildmannerededc 3 жыл бұрын
Guess it depends what you mean by cutting performance. I think the Manix2 is a fantastic slicer if that's it's primary task (breaking down boxes etc), but the blade is a bit thin, so if you looking for something a bit more hard use the Native 5 is an idea choice, especially considering how many steel variations it come it.
@nOObels1

I go both ways, or really all ways..military nothing beats the thunk of a well deployed military, except the K2, PM2 a good thunking fidget knife, manix fill the hand and a challenge to fidget, endura 4 spydie flick this, domino now that’s a slicer but often a tad small for my ad hoc use.... so many good choices, so few sentence breaks... now can we talk steels....
