If anyone is creating an atmosphere of slander, I would agree, it's the individuals making the decision. As for Colin Firth, he's a professional, and will do his job as an actor. That is to build his assigned character, and make his character believable. Years back, I did a small scene with Colin Firth, and the impression I got was...Professional. As we stood waiting - for the Director - Colin looked at me and said..."I'm ready for my close-up Mr DeMille" Well, as "Sunset Boulevard" is my favourite movie, I liked him immediately. Anyway, after a couple of minutes the Director walk towards us, and said, (In a blaming tone!) I Paraphrase. "Come on, let's get on with the work." Huh! Was my thought. But, Colin, whom could have told him not to transfer his failings on to him...Us...Lowered his head in acknowledgement and got on with the scene. The action of a professional. The part was his number one concern...Not his...Ego. I have, in the past, worked with actors that want to use the big screen, or television, as a political tool to promote their views, which I disagree with completely. I am an entertainer, not a politician. My job is to tell the story, to follow the script. As for its effect on the minds or behaviour, as some would profess to be detrimental, well, the Verdict, I leave to...The individual. Succinctly, Colin Firth, is a true actor...And I would say...A believer in...FREE SPEECH.

The stairs scene in "The Staircase" was more than I imagined it would be. That was so traumatizing to watch. I cannot imagine those being on set, and seeing this when it was being acted, and filmed. Very disturbing.

Toni Collette is just a stunning actor. She is underrated as heck. She makes everything so believable. Her acting in each death scene was so good.

Listening to different podcasts, various actors and the showrunner definitely spoke of this.

I think the thought was the woman connected with the staircase documentary had feelings or a bias in favor of Petersen( believed him to be innocent) and therefore perhaps since she was the one editing the documentary edited it favorably towards him.

They dated when he was in prison. She moved in with him when he got out. After the filming finished they broke up! 😐 He used her. Just like he used his kids. Michael thinks he is a king and his wife and everyone should bow down -without even letting them know anything about anything he did not want to share. Please! 🙄🤮 His son Todd has a video where he calls Michael a serial killer. Guess the Stockholm syndrom is finally wearing off..

Totally agree on this. I think Peterson completely used Sophie, the editor. Once he was a free man, it looks like they went their separate ways. Peterson is a narcissist through and through. He used everyone around him, including his family. I think it’s very telling that his children are not there at the end. I think they too have figured him out or at least have doubts.

I love both shows. I decided to binge the whole docu on Netflix before the new show is finished so I can kind of get the whole story. Toni’s Kathleen lying dead is just gut-wrenching. I can see how she’d have hit her head on the lift chair, and scalp lacs bleed heavily. Looking forward to watching the rest of the show.

the director did a great job...Colin Firth is so creepy it's great acting. tell the director to stop being a baby. it's so well done it is so well cast...let it go. And you are a good looking man, next time shave. its all about presentation. JD Roberts always looked great and he ended up on CNN Thank you. Toni Collette was AMAZING in the role. the death scene was mind blowing to watch.

I watched the first episode it’s a great show. I think what Toni was saying was more about the hbo show being immersive and realistic to the viewer. Just a different experience from watching a documentary
