This Miami hurricane team had 4 NFL all pros on it. A total of 15 players that played in the league. When the game was on the line in the fourth quarter, Garrard called his own number and ran over Dan Morgan.

I'll never forget this game. The people of Eastern NC needed something like this to happen. Times were tough. And The Pirates got it done. Great game, with 2 fantastic football teams. And what can you say about The Great Steve Logan. No one wanted to play that Team - or face that guy. LOL Good times for Pirate football !

Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium had been flooded by Hurricane Floyd so they played on the home field of their arch rival NC State. I was out of town and saw they had won the next morning at the airport. I let out a vocal cheer right there.

I remember storming the field with my two boys after the game. We were congratulating players and almost got hit in the head with the goal posts. That's because we tore them down because the ECU fans were so happy. We played that game in Raleigh because Hurricane Floyd had left our stadium in disarray. I will never forget how loud that crowd was. One of the best games ECU has ever played.
