General Hara has admitted this to an interlocutor acting as an intermediary between the General and the Acting Government of the Hawaiian Kingdom, and now has a very critical decision to make, to follow the US Army Field Manual and the laws that are triggered by an occupation, and transform the State of Hawai’i government into a military government that is recogniziable by the Geneva and Hague Conventions that govern occupation, or fail to do it, resulting in possible maximizing of liability for being charged with the war crime of usurpation of sovereignty, but retiring from service without loss of any of the General’s retirement package of benefits, but nevertheless disregarding his responsibility and duty. I would also like to see the treaty. The Hawaiians were not consulted and the US went on to take the Philippines, Cuba, Puerto Rico. Many of the troubles currently can be traced back to allowing the US to get away with overthrowing the popular monarch, hiding the Ku'e petitions and imprisoning the queen for 9 months in her bedroom in the palace. Everyone who spends any time in Honoulu should take an afternoon and go to the Iolani Palace. The docents are prepared to tell you this story and help you understand why it is important for you to know. Oakland CA
@Alahulapuuloakealahelenokaahu7 ай бұрын
Sandra Morey Unless you can cite evidence for the claim that the Ku’e Petitions were hidden, by who and why, the more likely explanation for the Petitions being forgotten is that they were received, and then archived after the time of the seizure of the territory of the Hawaiian Kingdom had passed. They were forgotten also because from 1906 on, a program of Denationilization and Americanization was carried out in the schools of Hawai’i that was so successful that it very nearly destroyed all national awareness and consciousness of the Hawaiian Kingdom in the minds of generations of Hawaiians for the next sixty years-and then some. For the adults-of the early twentieth century-who remembered their nation and national identity, there was a realization that restoration of the government of the Kingdom was not forthcoming and that they would be better off adapting to the present, though their memories of the Hawaiian Kingdom could not be removed from their minds.

The Queen lived across the street in a house named 'Washington Place'... Iolani Palace was the seat of the Kingdom's Gov't, which was dominated by white Cabinet Ministers that had renounced their US Citizenship and had become legal naturalized Hawaiian Citizens. This allowed them to marry wealthy Hawaiian women, buy property and be appointed to Office by the King. The Queen was detained in the Palace in a Corner Office turned into a Bedroom/Holding Cell. She was treated very well, had servants, musical instruments, books, and home cooked meals. It was not considered an 'imprisonment' but more of a 'captivity' to prevent any rebellion. She abdicated and was released, and she went to D.C. & England to rally for restoration. The US did NOT overthrow the Kingdom, the Provisional Gov't (PG) took control because the Queen wanted to illegally change the Constitution. The PG wanted a ceremonial King/Queen, like present England, with the country run by the Cabinet Ministers.
@Alahulapuuloakealahelenokaahu6 ай бұрын
@@AHLUser Abdicated? Queen wanted to “illegally” change the Constitution? Under the lawful Constitution of 1864, Her Majesty The Queen couldn’t unilaterally do any such thing as abdication. Thus to say that Her Majesty abdicated is inaccurate and incorrect, and betrays your distorted understanding of the legal and political history of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Do you not know that the “Constitution” HRH Mo’i Wahine Ke Ali’i Aimoku Lili’uokalani was going to replace was not a lawful Constitution because it was imposed by insurgents who threatened HRH King Kalakaua with a violent death if HRH King Kalakaua did not sign their unlawful Constitution? What was illegal about HRH The Queen changing an unlawful Constitution? Do you not know that HRH The Queen was petitioned by two thirds of Her Majesty’s subjects to do that very thing? And there are no citizens in a Constitutional Monarchy, they are called subjects, who along with denizens constituted the population of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Certainly you and your unqualified, non authoritative, subjective, in personem opinions are not worth two thousand rolls of toilet paper! Moreover, your gratuitous claim that the United States was not responsible for the coup de mane and the insurrection of January 17 1893, has been refuted and debunked by a leading figure in the insurrection, Lorrin Thurston, in his book Memoirs Of The Hawaiian Revolution, and by the memo written by US Minister to the Hawaiian Kingdom John Stevens to insurgent Sanford Dole dated January 17 1893 advising Dole that Stevens did not think it wise for the insurgents to publicly announce that he had recognized them until they had gained control of the police station. This memo was the smoking gun piece of evidence that Presidential appointee James Blount was looking for but couldn’t find that proved that Stevens conspired with the insurgents to overthrow the government of the Hawaiian Kingdom, and it was also evidence that Stevens lied under oath when he testified before a congressional committee convened by US Senator John Morgan. Your gratuitous claim of no US involvement in the insurgency is facetious and falsified!

@@AHLUser Your ridiculous and gratuitous assertion that USA Incorporated didn’t overthrow the lawful government of the Hawaiian Kingdom is falsified by a memo from John Stevens to Sanford Dole that says to Dole that Stevens didn’t think it wise for the insurgents to announce publicly that he had recognized them as a de facto government until they had taken control of the police station; that memo, the original and genuine document, was discovered by Ron Williams among a box of documents that had been donated to the Mission Houses Museum by a descendant of William O. Smith, one of the insurgents and a PG member. This was the smoking gun piece of evidence that James Blount had been looking for to prove that Stevens had collaborated and conspired with the insurgents, enabling them to carry out their insurgency. Your falsified assertion that USA Inc. was not responsible for the insurgency and the overthrow of the government of the Hawaiian Kingdom is thus totally discredited and debunked, and is dismissed with prejudice, as are your other false and gratuitous accusations and assertions. But the Acting Hawaiian Kingdom Government’s Council of Regency is making steady progress in its strategic plan to expose the unlawful occupation of the Hawaiian Kingdom, bring the United States and the State of Hawai’i into compliance with The Hague and Geneva Conventions-the laws of war and occupation, and ultimately bring an end to the unlawful American occupation of the territory of the Hawaiian Kingdom.

The fact that this “Republic” of Hawai’i was about as democratic as Banana Republic a corporate institution of self election… Can’t you all see, just as the Hawaiian government was overthrown by oligarchs, look at Americas government today. The Big 5, 3 of the 5 owners of HECO all participated in the overthrow. Why should any American care about Hawaiis history and injustice? Well how do I put this an injustice anywhere is an injustice everywhere, and the American addiction to expansionism forces American taxes to fund endless overthrows while it’s people are amongst the sickest amongst developed nations… no annexation of Hawai’i is a myth. Hawaii remains an American occupation. When you visit YOU and YOUR family are visiting an occupied country. Remember you can ovethrow a nation’s government but not the nation itself! Just as America invaded Iraq and Iraq remained a foreign sovereign country, how is it different for the Hawaiian Kingdom where is Hawaiis treaty of annexation?

In Nomine Justitia To the august halls of Congress, where democracy's voice resounds, To the venerable chambers of the Supreme Court, where justice's gavel pounds, And to the highest office, held by President Joe Biden's hand, This mystic document, a plea for justice, across the land. In the sacred echoes of history's pages, we find our tale, A saga woven in the fabric of Hawaii, where shadows prevail. From the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, a cultural program took flight, In the embrace of justice, guided by the National Park Service's light. Bishop Museum's native culture and arts, a testament true, Funded by foundations noble, like the Gerbode and Pacific Isles crew. The symphony of justice played, through the Hawaii Committee's grace, And Pacific Islanders in Communications, a bridge to justice's embrace. Yet, in Honolulu's streets, where rifles stood tall, A tale unfolded, a kingdom's fall. The rifles, outwardly loyal, veiled in a conspirator's oath, Justice dimmed, as the Bayonet Constitution took its oath. In the year 1993, a centennial lament, For the overthrow of monarchy, a moment to repent. A retelling of stories, of a queen and conspirators unseen, But unearthing the truth, justice's path in between. From New England's shores they came, with dreams of destiny, A shadowy conspiracy, in the birth of a sugar industry. Luther Severance spoke of annexation, a last resort's plea, But Hawaii's sovereign dream, a vision not to be. Reciprocity, a dance of geopolitical stakes, Pearl River Lagoon, where ambition awakes. Major Schofield's reconnaissance, in a harbor's embrace, A strategic move, justice's veiled face. The Bayonet Constitution, a dark decree, Forcing submission on Kalakaua, a king's decree. A figurehead crowned, power in the shadows, Wealthy elites, white and sugar's meadows. Jon Kamakawiwoole Osorio speaks of consequence, Democracy diminished, a nation's recompense. Reciprocity's renewal, a storm unfurls, American pressure, on the islands swirls. Harrison, Blaine, and Stevens, their plans unfold, Tensions rise, in a sugar market's hold. Pearl Harbor and protectorate, a cruel trance, Native voices protest, justice's dance. Blaine's stall, a treacherous wrong, Reciprocity dies, depression's song. Kalakaua's journey, a quest for grace, Reciprocity's hope, lost in the San Fran embrace. Liliuokalani, on a throne rearrange, A traditional constitution, in the winds of change. Anticipation looms, a power in descent, A diverse myth of overthrow, malcontent. Missionary descendants, in conspirator's seat, W.O. Smith, Thurston, Dole, in shadows fleet. The overthrow unfolds, in justice's lament, In the halls of Congress, Supreme Court, and President. We, the seekers of justice, in mystic decree, Plead to Congress, Supreme Court, and Biden's decree. In Latin's whispers, a timeless plea, Let justice reign, in Hawaii's legacy.

The U.S. is illegally occupying the Hawaiian Kingdom. Some of us may not be able to live within the pae aina, but still we thrive, we are kanaka maoli through and through and we also honor the diversity of our other ancestral lines. What about the many treaties that were signed between European Nations and Hawaii when Kalakaua went on his trip around the world? They signified that Hawaii was a sovereign nation . He was the first ruler of any nation to go to secure treaty recognition of established nations so as to guarentee protection for his nation. The Ku'e petitions against annexation were "lost" for 40 years, but now have been found and relatives of those original signers are signing in again. This is not over. Anyone trying to understand Israel/Palestine should look to Hawaii for precedent.
