True story... Went to a Mexican restaurant in Tuscaloosa Alabama to pick up some food I ordered to go. A white lady comes in and instead of ordering food or ask to be seated, she asked is she could hire any of them to do some yard work for her. Racism in Alabama is as real as it is bold.

But just like other races, individuals(particularly, their children) have taken offense to a certain term......simply calling them “Mexican”. “I’m not Mexican. I was born here. I’m Latin American.” Blah blah. Where I live, if you’re in my town it’s mostly white. If you drove 10 miles to the next town in the valley, it’s overwhelmingly Spanish-speakers and Latin Americans.
