Growing up poor We ate whatever mom could afford Alot of soups a few canned goods discount bread We never went hungury, Later years I cooked for myself And money coming in was much better I bought a book at a used book sale ..It was Michel Roux cook book Alot of the items i never even heard of ..This was my start to eatting great foods And prepping them the right way This morning I wanted to surprise my girlfriend with homemade Brioche bread Montreal smoked meat, And a creamy cheese found in Normandie Lightly toasted..very french lol I might not have 3 michelin stars in a resturaunt But i got 5 stars in the bedroom when i served it ..Merci Roux family

I’ve had the pleasure of dinning at Le Gavroche and The Waterside Inn many times, for both business and pleasure. Aside from all the obvious accolades, both Michel Jr and Alain are wonderful people. They are perhaps the best face of London’s premier restaurant scene. I love Michel, nobody can argue he has such vibrancy and noticeable passion for his craft. He has a gift for inviting people into his realm, unlike many of his peers with pretentious attitudes. You notice this right away.

The current Roux is appalling. I ate there & the service was appalling. The food was poor. Not as good as it thinks it is.

What do the French think of Le Gavroche? Oh, these poor deprived Britons, they know no better. Or is it? La Gavroche is beacon of hope to an otherwise bleak and bitterly cold isle. It makes us proud.

kind of late with this, in fact 7 years late, but whatever. The Roux bros. were well respected across the world, they hold a competition every year for young restaurant cooks, and the winner gets to work in any Michelin starred restaurant in the world, of their choosing, for 1 year and they will pay for travel and housing

Amazon should commission Michel for a show of his own. Why did the resturant lose a Michelin Star? I believe it now has two stars, once three.

Regarding the loss of the third star Michel Roux Jr said that "Certainly I would love three stars. I believe in the system and the recognition would be wonderful. But I am not cooking that style of food. There are dishes that are worthy of it but my style really doesn't suit that status."[3] ---- Whoops. Nope.

It seems to be like an internship that means that you likely can make it as a head chef at a prestigious restaurant relatively quickly. Since slavery is illegal at this point in history in the UK, I imagine they pay a wage that ensures that they get enough employees who are up to their standards.

Once you work in here..No one w'd hear abt you young chefs..It is only made for this family...U'll always live on bread line. As self employed chef.I jumped from £270 pw to 400 a shift . If you have a good culinary culture and you food tastes good ,clients don't care who you worked for..so dn't get slaved by these tv chefs

'Fine-dining' is a horrible experience. You are under constant observation by poorly-paid, terrified, waiters and obliged to dance to the chef's tune and consume on command. Awful. The diner should call the shots and eat and drink as he or she pleases.
