I didn't realize he was so young and early on in his career though. What a fuckin time to be alive it was back then. The small/local music scene was prime everywhere too. It was so easy for dudes like that to try to tour.

So my brother growing up was a friend of the drummer from Nevershoutnever. My brother always had dreams of being in a band of his own. Around 25 he moved out to the shit town of Joplin MO to pursue that dream be around those guys and he formed a band, played a couple shows, and shattered his knee doing a stage dive. Had to get a fucking knee replacement or some medal in his knee and was basically fucked for a long time on unemployment before having to move back home. He changed careers but still picks up his guitar every now and again. He never became a rockstar like he wanted to, but he did get to see some behind the scenes of bands like NSN and get a taste of what it must be like. I still kind of feel for him, but his life is good now. It’s interesting to look back on bands like this and be reminded about how much he tried for a music career like that.

I super rarely comment on KZbin videos, kinda just watch 'em, leave a like or a dislike, and move on, but I gotta say: You put in a lot of work into editing your videos. It's a wonder why you don't have more subscribers than you do (182 as of writing.. Hey, ain't that a cool number?) but I'm sure they'll all come in time. If I could suggest -one- thing that doesn't at all have to do with your content, though: Your videos are all shot in front of a door, and there are some things to the side of you, and I get it if you don't have much room to record, but if you can find a way to record in front of a blank wall (maybe a book case of something off to the side, like TheNeedleDrop) it'd help sell your presentation more But, as it stands, great content. You don't really have to change anything about the way you gather resources for your content, or how you deliver it. Either way, given that it's hard to put ads on content that have copyrighted material, maybe you should make a Patreon or something
@thecozyrep5 жыл бұрын

This was sooo fun for me to watch. When I stopped using MySpace my screen name was “nevershoutCarly”. I saw him in concert only once but at the time he was the love of my life. This is weird because I thought I discovered him through trouble, but I remember 30 days to Christmas coming out and listening to it immediately. So now I’m not sure how I discovered him afterall. The passing time song you played was so far in my memories I barely remembered it. Thank you for making this!!

I used to listen to him, but, when he started getting tattoos and openly being a hippie, he was less relatable for me so I was more of a passive fan. And yep, during the good old myspace days 🙃 .. MySpace was superior to Facebook, I don’t know why the world shifted.

MySpace was so customizable. I was starting to get into some basic HTML so I could do stuff with my profile, and really enjoyed it. I bet I would have gotten way more into other programming languages if we'd kept up with MySpace.

@Ren Raz yes im aware of that and the reason i said what i did was mainly based on the usage of 'openly', it sort of makes an implication as if it's somehow shameful or a bad thing to be one

This entire video was like a trip back in time. Every word you said seemed to pull out a new memory out of the depths of my mind. Even the reference to photobucket...I completely forgot that website existed.

Love the way you did this. You are insanely well-spoken, and so great at this! Just found your channel. This video was blasts of nostalgia, and I am extremely impressed with your presentation. Subbing now. I almost didn't feel like a 29 year-old "adult" for a few minutes, and I needed that.
