I agree with what Kevin Nash said about the PPV. If you're going to play in to the faction's cool factor, why not have the PPV in Las Vegas or Miami? And if you're going to have a Miss nWo contest, why not get some of the most beautiful supermodels at the time to be a part of that? Hell, in one of WWF's worst years of 1995, they were able to get Pam Anderson and Jenny McCarthy to be a part of WrestleMania. You're telling me Time Warner couldn't get anyone of that caliber to take part in a beauty contest during one of WCW's best years? There were things I liked about the PPV like the announcer making fun of the WCW wrestlers on their way to the ring and I liked the WCW guys being in the crowd but they should've been more involved and having verbal altercations with the group when they were on the outside or making their way to the ring. This PPV could've been used to ramp of tension between the two factions of WCW and the nWo but instead it was a pompous ego trip and was the first real sign that Eric didn't know what he was doing. In hindsight this feels more like an Aces and Eights PPV than an nWo PPV.

They did the nwo girl as a joke. As you can see by the woman and who won. They didn’t want any pretty girls. I wish they would have went a different routine though.

The nWo was extremely good at its peak, but it always worked best as a threatening heel faction within a WCW package. Basing an entire show around heels fundamentally doesn't work, there's got to at least be hope that the babyfaces can overcome.

Don't get me wrong, it was far from some great idea to blow up the NWO up so bloated like that, but it was far more than just that, that ruined the NWO. Most of all how long it was dragged out for. Think this PPV would made more sense if the story was that the matches where trials for some WCW wrestlers that wanted to be part of the nWo and for the nWo to get rid of some members that they would consider "weak links" if they lost. That way you can have legit matches and build rivalries of the results.

In recent years NJPW and AEW have brought me back and I'm happy to call myself a wrestling fan again. What always bothered me about the opening is that they were soooo close to it being great. If the garbage trucks had had WCW flags and when they pulled into the arena, they dumped out a bunch of WCW branded stuff, which someone from the NWO set on fire. Something along those lines, instead of, "oh look, the NWO are riding garbage trucks to the show because...reasons!"

Souled Out is a perfect example of why doing something different just for the sake of being different is always a huge gamble. Likewise, it’s also a good example of how WCW would’ve benefitted from having someone to reign in Bischoff’s more grandiose tendencies even when they were killing it in the ratings. He’s always had a better head for the boardroom than the wrestling business, and he really put the cart before the horse by doing an nWo-branded PPV before having them take over Nitro.

15:53 I know Konan was born in Cuba then grow up in Mexico ,but I didn't know he raised in Mexico back then. I was like in 4th or 5th grade so I likely thougth so back then ,but me now would think it be especially having a USA residence due to most WCW shows being in the USA.

I liked the fact that there was so many members in the nwo. It was crazy to see who would jump and why. Also it made it fill like a real threat out taking over. Who is gonna beat a entire roster of guys with a group of 3 or 4?

An interest rose to watch this ppv & thank you for this match by match breakdown to show why that wouldn't be a good idea. Guerrero ( R.I.P. ) vs Syxx & The Outsiders vs The Steiners look like the only good matches. Syxx's jumping kick off the top of the ladder looked awesome! Surprised to see the crowd didn't pop for it. The production is reminiscent of V for Vendatta

the experiment didnt work but i always thought it was worth trying again. the idea sounded great at the time and i remember being all for it, it was the first and only wcw pay per view (though technically it wasnt wcw). the presentation itself left a lot to be desired. still i cant blame Eric for daring to try something new even though it came off as more odd and awkward than cool

Crowds sometimes chant USA not because babyface is american but because will annoy the heel in theory as they usually sre portrayed as american hating foreigners.. aside from that Jericho was born in ny so it would make sense even if just for that reason

Amazing how big DDP was in WCW and then how he just got trashed in terms of storyline in WWF. I can't forgive them for that. Among other failures on WCW's part like billing for Eddie/the Chris' and such, they really failed Scott Hall by not helping him enough and instead basically kicked him to the curb because they had such a stacked roster that they didn't care. Not ok.

“The standard stalling to waste time...” Let’s not pull punches. The stalling isn’t to “waste time,” it’s so Hogan can catch his breath. While I can respect wrestling promotions for trying to keep their older stars in the mix (and thus keep them employed), sadly most times by the time they reach 40 they get winded quickly. And just drag the shows momentum down...

Yeah, I remember watching all this during those years.. I even asked myself what they would do if everyone was in the nWo because that’s what it appeared to be headed towards. Then the spinoffs with Wolfpack and Latino World Order was just. too. sweet!!.. I mean too much 😅. The nWo was their own downfall adding too many members and more story telling with less actual wrestling. It was entertaining early on but more so annoying later into it. By early 00’s I couldn’t watch it anymore. I’ve had enough.

Jeff Katz wasn't only a producer at New Line Cinema with Freddy vs Jason and Shoot Em Up, he proposed Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool after he stole the scenes as King in Blade 3. Unfortunately Katz would later work at Fox and unfortunately have to defend Wolverine Origins and their treatment of Wade Wilson having his mouth sewn shut.

Dude, I was there before the NWO and still here after you know what I am? NWO 4 life. Hall and Nash made WCW great. They botched a lot of things, they should have had Sting and Hogan in a cage, they should have put the strap on Scott Hall atleast once. My God, they put it on JEFF JARRET, I haven't met a Jeff Jarret fan yet. Without WCW wrestling went straight to sh*t. The Sold Out PPV had trouble because the Outsiders lost, Syxx lost and Hogan didn't win.. How do you have the heels losing at their own PPV? It doesn't make sense, even if they have to cheat to win they should have won. It's not like Sting was there to clear the ring and make a stand, that would have made sense.
