Chris didn’t tell Ethan because of plot reasons. If he hadn’t there would be no game as it is now. And they wanted to confuse players and question his motives. Now is that a dumb reason as most people assumed there was a twist? Yes but blame the writers. They should've made it seem like Chris just found out and he was trying to bring them in quietly to be 100% sure. But then the op went badly. Maybe "Mia" attacks them and then she's "killed" And he's about to explain when the convoy is attacked by the village monsters.

Well, Chris would've had to wait to tell Ethan until they got to whatever safehouse they were being transported to. Chris mentioned that they simply subdued Miranda, didn't kill her, so with her being in the immediate vicinity and within earshot, if she heard that she had been found out, she probably could've just mutated right there with full power and murdered Ethan, Chris and his team, and proceed to kidnap Rose and go unhindered

So, this is my guess; I think Rose IS the megamycete now! The ritual didn’t work because it wasn’t intended to turn Rose into Eva... it was intended to turn Rose into a full copy, human form of the megamycete; and in that sense the ritual worked just as the megamycete intended... It tricked Miranda for 100 years into doing its bidding. She thought she could control the mold, but it was just using her to be able to spread and so she could find the perfect vessel for its human form. Now that it is in a human form, “She will grow to fully control the masses” (This is just my theory anyways lol; but if you think about it, it makes sense)

I’m of the belief that Ethan *IS* with Rose, in general. Just like how it’s Evelyn who tells Ethan about the stark realization of his scenario- Ethan will be a part of Rose & be able to converse with her, seeing as the Megamycete *DOES* catalog people’s collective memories & the pure consciousness, it’s NOT outside the realm of possibility that “talking” to (the ability to talk with) her father IS a legit skill of hers... I don't believe Ethan is totally gone and I think this is indirectly given away by the choice of still not revealing his face. Since he has a partial face model in the data files, I imagine they were planning on revealing it in the ending, but then stopped development on that when they planned out their future DLC. It's my speculation that they are going to use Ethan's face for a character claiming to be someone else but then is revealed to be Ethan. How they go about that seems tricky as Mia and Chris know what Ethan looks like and I'm sure Rose knows from seeing photos, but it's not the characters that are in the dark when it comes to his likeness. We are. So, there can be a situation where these characters know who he really is and is in on the charade then it's more of a revelation to the audience as the plot folds out. I just don't see why they would continue to hide his face when his story has supposedly ended. His story has ended, but that doesn't mean he will be excluded from his daughter's story.

You're right that he may not be dead, although I don't think that's likely. Saying "The Father's story is done" doesn't necessarily mean he's dead/gone, it could just as easily mean that he won't be a protagonist/playable character anymore. I just think it's more likely that he's in her head in some capacity rather then still physically present.

I think that the giant freakish baby was a manifestation of Mias fears about any future children she may have with Ethan. Ethan makes references to Rose being the baby the never thought they would have and I think it means that Mia had one or more miscarriages before Rose was born. Here's my theory. Everyone says that Rose will never had the memories of his father because the Megamycete which is like a storage of memories was already destroyed but I think Rose is the new Megamycete. If you will analyze more mother Miranda failed to bring Eva and her powers was sucked by Rose so I believe she is now the new host of the Megamycete which means that she is the most powerful Bow alive right now. Hey small contribution to the discussion, but, without bringing Miranda’s resilience and longevity into consideration, the way that [Mia] barely reacted to the first shot through her shoulder was actually very realistic. A person of experience and reputation once said “It’s not the impact of the bullet that knocks you down, it’s your reaction to the bullet’s impact that knocks you down.” So with [miranda] Mia shrugging off that first shot to the shoulder, it’s actually quite realistic to how someone reacts to ballistic impact.

It depends on how the bullet goes through the body and it's size. If it doesn't deform and passes through, it transfers little energy. Same if the bullet is small, but even a small one, if it is stopped in the body would have and leave at least the same energy as a reasonably heavy punch. If those bullets were of small caliber and the first one passed through widout hitting any bone, that reaction would be possible, but it doesn't mean that's always possible.

@shin jinyi. For the head, this can actually be explained relatively easily. When doing first person games, the head is usually removed so that the camera isn't obstructed. If the head was actually there, well, think the nightmare fuel facial glitches in Assassin's Creed Unity, but right in your face and backwards.

It's more a reminder that Rose isn't supposed to eat this. - Babys can't process raw honey or shrooms(or raw food in general) and it can be bad for a baby to eat honey bc it can give them something called botulism, which can be lethal.

I predict that she will have some supernatural interaction with him in the future. She probably has some of the datastorage of the megamycete, and since a copy of his "Soul " or engrammatic imprint of his mind and personality was absorbed by the molds weird hivemind thing, she could have that data saved into her somehow. If she gets powerful enough to just summon molded, and imprint thought into them, she could make a copy of him.

I think that when rose was put back together, she immediately begun absorbing the information and overall power of the mold. Evidenced by how as soon as maranda pulled her out she instantly began to weaken. This could also be the reason why ethen dies after defeating maranda, after all he's defeated everything in his path up to this point but this crow b*tch is the one to do him in? Nuh uh.

That Rose's Consciousness, was still semi-active even when sectioned up, and therefor, she was able to, through the megamycete influence him just a little bit. Stabalize his failing mold body just a little bit. That being heartless hould have killed even him, but she kept that from happening. And when he finally gets her back she is essentially like "Okay daddy, you can rest"

Its possible that Rose can see/remember Ethan's memories due to the mold, since the mold does store memories as mentioned in the game. Thus why she was so fond of her father, running away from captivity just to give flowers on his birthday. Even if she couldn't have known him personally, since he died when she was just a baby. Also her response to the agent gives a hint to that. Agent: "You are a lot like him you know?" Rose: "I know"

I think it's more they're scared of what she's capable of, and they have people on hand ready to kill her if they think she's about to turn into a danger to other people. Although whether or not they'd actually be *able* to kill her I have no idea. So I guess for now she's useful to them but they're also acutely aware of just how dangerous and powerful she can be. Especially if she does have the ability to infect and create an army of molded like Miranda seemed to imply.

I'm more curious of how they'll handle the survival horror elements in the next game with Rose as the protagonist, if she will be one. By now we all know she'll at least have some of Ethan's regenrative powers so expect limb reattachment. Other cool powers would be the one from Siren where you can see through the eyes of enemies. Maybe she can see through the eyes of mold based enemies? It's really exciting tobsee where things are headed.

I don't know. Sherry had High-Speed Regeneration as shown in RE6 but other then that one cutscene nothing was done with it. I think it'd be amazing if you actually had powers to work with, but I feel like even if they did give her powers they'd only be used in cutscenes and/or puzzles, but not combat.

What if Miranda's ceremony worked in a way and Rose was affected by the essence of Eva? When Miranda first takes Rose out of the mold altar she refers to the child as "My Eva" and seems to recognize her. I also saw the odd angry outburst of Rose to the secret agent as eerily similar to Mia's snap at Ethan early into the game, when she was actually Miranda. Also the outburst was at a joke calling Rose Evelyn, another creation of Miranda's. Could Rose be aware of the influence of a second personality within her, that being Eva?

He probably can speak to her, and she can hear him. The same way that Miranda knew her daughter was in the Megamycete and was attempting to remake Rose into her. Rose now has signs from all branches of the mold/Megamycete, from Ethan and Evelyn to the (for lack of better terminology and safety) Reforging at the end of Village, she now has control of the mold, and can manage some of it's effects. She said, "things even Chris doesn't know", and that would imply that she has some deeper fusion of the Mold's mind warping and the Megamycete's genetic rewriting abilities. Modification of certain aspects, such as defensive, and strength enhancement. To be fair, though, she may not have complete control of these abilities. Hence, her getting "tested"

I honestly believe that the reason Eva’s resurrection failed was because she never came into contact with the megamycete as the game states that she died as a result of the Spanish Flu. Regardless if Miranda used Eva’s DNA, there was no body/conscious for her to return which may have just created an empty “husk” (think of how the tyrants were mass produced by a single man’s dna). Eveline was created using bioengineering and merging her with the mold thus creating a new person who shared Eva’s DNA but wasn’t Eva though. Eveline may have so far had been the only “successful” experiment in creating a human with consciousness and feelings as what we’ve seen mostly in Resident Evil that genetic experiments just create an “animal” that reacts impulsively and has no human intellect. Since supposedly the megamycete stores the dna/consciousness of those it infects, I believe Eveline survived her death in RE7 just through her consciousness which is how she was able to communicate with Ethan in RE 8. This would also explain how the sane Jack Baker was able to communicate with Ethan in RE 7. This plot also kind of reminds me of Alex Wesker’s where she thought she would succeed but her transplant failed in which Natalia (now the new Alex) “unconsciously” kills her in the bad scenario and also intervenes after the incident at the hill. It’s funny had Miranda accepted Eveline, she would have had her “daughter” back and the Lords would’ve been her family. Makes me wonder if Mia may still be infected or have mild in her as well since despite being cured, she was ambushed by Eveline and trapped in mold again. Wonder how the future games will follow through with this new plot with Rose

I don't think Mia was worried about what Ethan or the mold in him was going to do to Rose, I think she was worried about what the mold was capable of doing to Ethan himself. She knew he wasn't like her, that he died and was resurrected by the mold while she was just infected by it, and she was afraid that he might either start to lose his mind or even start to fall apart physically. She was scared for him, not of him. And I think that she was right to be. Ethan proved he was able to recover from just about any damage he took, until his heart was removed. However, I don't think it was the removal of his heart that killed him, I think that it was the revelation of being a mold person. I think Ethan's ability to recover was tied to his mental state, so long as he was determined to keep going, to shrug off all of the damage and soldier on, his body reacted in accordance with his wishes, but once he realized he wasn't human anymore, his body could no longer recover that form, and he either had to die by rejection of the mold or possibly embrace the mold and become your typical Resident Evil BOW boss monster.
