Seagull actually started playing competitive half life 2 death match then moved to tf2 he played for quite a few teams b4 classic mixup although mix up is probably the most notable. He played demo for them in and then moved to roamer (in the documentary it sounds like he did both at the same time)

Im pretty sure that this video is just mostly about how he pushed overwatch and kept it alive and his impact on overwatch in general. It makes sense that they would just gloss over TF2 because overwatch is what seagull is best known for now.

although i do agree with crazpam in that they should have showed seagull's tf2 history more, considering the video's title and how integral tf2 was to seagull's future career. without tf2, there would be no overwatch seagull.

Justice?! These people had the audacity to use the OLD AND BETA (and yes, I said B-E-T-A) tf2 trailers as references! They don't care about justice. Not even a single frag video too, just a clip of the announcer saying they won, but they had time to fit 20 minutes of Overwatch gameplay but not tf2. That's a sugar coat for the masses if I've ever seen one. Justice? I don't think so.

Watching this video I actually cried. Just brought up a lot of old emotions from OWL. I watched every Fuel game (I'm from the UK so 6am games. not fun) and stage 1-3, it was depressing. But that New York game were we almost won I was so happy just to see that we made progress and might've been able to contend with the big teams. But when it came to the Shanghai game at the start of stage 4 I was so scared to watch because losing felt so possible from my perspective and I didn't want to happen for the life in me. The relief I felt after that game was quite the something. The journey to the playoffs were so scary having to watch London just take a map. THEY WERE 3-0 DOWN, I was so scared. Watching their reactions to the end of that game, was the same screaming call outs and crying when London got that map (my family thought I had problems during OWL, not to mention all the times that I woke them up at stupid times because something happened in game :P). I fell in love with overwatch not by playing the game but by watching seagulls stream, at the time when I got overwatch my friends didn't play it so I had no one really to play with. He always has and always will be my favorite player. I watch every stream he has, if I can't catch it live then I watch the void and even though he doesn't play in OWL anymore I'll still burn blue forever for him. Thank you for the Video :)
@thomasblack85016 жыл бұрын
Being from the UK and being a Dallas fan sucked for the first 3 stages being smashed by any average team and then having to get up hours later to go to college and stuff but sticking with them into stage 4 made it all worth it and watching the last game of the stage before play offs was the best game against la I looked at that game and thought the dream was over and they were just gonna walk all over us but we won and made it to the playoff and from that point I didn’t even care if we lost I was just happy that they were back the old envy who made me love the game
@TheEmo016 жыл бұрын
I'm from germany and had the same problem with the time difference. But I set alarms for every match of Dallas Fuel. I know what you mean with depressing, I went through all of this with Fuel, but no matter what happened, everytime they had a match, I put on my Dallas Fuel jersey and cheered for them. BURN BLUE !

I've been a spurs fan, a cowboys fan, a sports fan in general for years, and never have I cared so much about a single player for a team leaving an organization ever. The dude felt like the heart and soul of Dallas fuel and seeing him go was actually heartbreaking, he's an unbelievable talent, and beyond entertaining. I'm sad to see him leave but I'm even happier than I am sad to see his stream succeed like it is now, he will always be our boy.

@paddy13376 жыл бұрын
It’s really good to see someone outside of the TF2 community even bringing the game up in this context. TF2 in my eyes has the single best competitive scene out there today. It’s grown a considerable amount from when I first started playing competitively in 2013. With little to no support from Valve whatsoever. Every single LAN that has happened has been 100% community funded. I believe that the game has the potential to be a bigger esport than it currently is. The game has the biggest skill ceiling i’ve ever seen in any game, and the ex TF2 players almost always go on to be top world players in their respective games, that they had quit TF2 for. It’s really sad that it wasn’t covered more here, but I can clearly see why. It’s not as accessible as CSGO, or OW. And, this obviously drives newcomers away. But hopefully, in the near future my favorite game of all time will be further represented in the esports community. But one can only hope.

Dallas should never have benched seagull, even in the early stages when they lost faith in him if I remember correctly he had one of the best win rates in their team. He may not have been performing at his very best but their problem was not seagull's performance, it was their tank play and taimou being in some bad form (not that I'm trying to blame him, people have their ups and downs).

I used to play tf2 competitively and i always knew that we never will get big enough to be a actual thing like CS 1.6, Dota 1 or fighting games at the time but i feel bad for seagull and other tf2 players who transitioned into Overwatch because Blizzard doesn't let you talk what you think and do whatever you want being a player with a contract. Its nice that he decided to stream instead on OWL because Overwatch can be forced as a esport by blizzard for 10~20 years but will never be a thing because the same motives tf2 wasnt a thing.
