The story behind alien isolation is sad. Before ripley boarded the nostromo, she had the main character Amanda. Anyway, Amanda lived with Ellen ripley(mother) in Vancouver Canada. With her husband Paul Carter. Ellen told Amanda that she would have to go on a two year journey to thedus. It made Amanda sad, but Ripley promised Amanda that she would be back on her 11th birthday, on the day ripley went to board the nostromo, Amanda got to meet captain Dallas, Paul didn’t like Dallas. Anyway, Amanda sent messages to her mother throughout there journey before hypersleep. Nearing Amanda’s 11th birthday, someone from the company notified Paul and Amanda that they had lost contact with the Nostromo (the events of Alien) so Amanda grew up and became an engineer for the company, she met a droid named Samuels. Who told her that the Anesidora Salvage ship had recovered the flight recorder for the nostromo and brought it to the Sevastopol station around KG348. She took the courier ship Torrens to the Sevastopol station to find the flight recorder to only find it had been corrupted. After the events of Alien, Ripley went into hypersleep for 57 years, in which Amanda died of cancer in Wisconsin during that time, so during the events of (Aliens) Amanda had already died, and thus, she would never see her mother again.

Beat this game on Hard mode in 2020 for the first time and it was a rollercoaster, won't be playing this game again, it gives me chills and anxiety. Edit: even tho this game gave me anxiety, the ending left me wanting more, so I replayed it a second time but felt less stressed about it.

@@MatTechSwahili IGN is one companies opinion, they gave The Last Of Us Part 2 a 10/10 definitely not for me, more like 7/10 but that's one man's opinion but yes definitely agree with you, Alien Isolation is a Masterpiece, recently playing it on the Switch and the graphics are amazing.

The game managed to fool me 4 times to think the game would end: 1st: When the Xenomorph got trapped and launched into space 2nd: When the Apollocore was reached to attempt to stop the androids from killing everyone 3rd: When overcharging the powergrid to eliminate the aliens and their hive 4th: When she managed to contact the ship she came with

I played the game and afterwards went back to watch Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) and I must say that the developers stayed very true to the source material. Music and sound design (like the terminals) evokes nostalgia If you previously saw the movies and the art direction is ON POINT with all the lights of the computers, inclusive APOLLO core that is very similar to MOTHER core from the Nostromo. Also, as a side note, in the 1st movie (1979) they pick up the "distress" signal but in the 2nd movie (1986) it is actually never mentioned, like a plot hole (?). This is actually addressed in the game! Marlow deactivates the signal of fear that other bounty hunters pick up the signal and steal his score, thus the company does not realize that the planet they are making habitable is where the first alien encounter happend. The level of detail this game has is amazing.

I played the game fairly recently and I'm definitely going to play it again some time. I really hope a sequel will be made. Imagine that with what they can do with graphics and so on now, even though it's hard to imagine a game that would look more real than 'Isolation'.

Excellent video. Good editing and choice of cutscenes, describing all of the biggest moments. I'm still not sure why the crews don't feel like they can trust each other (do they think the killer is one of them?), but this was super informative for someone who is definitely too much of a coward to play this game :P

This game just still has one question to be answered: There obviously was an Alien Queen on the station since eggs were laid with face huggers, and there was an hive in the reactor. Patient Zero from de Anesidora spawned a regular Alien, the one that's been terrorizing the station for over a month (and that we flush out from the station while detatching the amovible lab). So here's the question: where did that queen came from?

We flushed A drone from the Station while detaching the lab, but the Alien that burst out of Foster BECAME The Queen and Sevastopol is completely infested by the time Amanda arrives. From a gameplay perspective, one drone follow us through the game.... BUT FROM A STORY PERSPECTIVE, we encounter several drones. Just one at a time though.

Creative Assembly studio made isolation, there was a sequel for PC/Consoles in the works but then Disney bought 20th Century Fox...and it was put on hold until now, they dont know if the new owners of the franchise, Disney, will give the green light to actually resume work..

So, what now? What about the 2nd Tomb Raider video? Am I supposed to assume that at this point I should just stop waiting for the 2nd Tomb Raider video? Or should I keep some hope for it? (I hope it's the latter) While I would've preferred it to the Darksiders videos, but I didn't mind that much since I simply viewed it as you focusing on the series while it's a hot topic(which is understandable). As such, I didn't mind patiently waiting for the Tomb Raider video. But with this new video, I'm not sure anymore. Do you intend to only focus on new games for a while and come back Tomb Raider later? Or is the Tomb Raider video still being worked on alongside the ones for the new games that you've posted since the first Tomb Raider video?

Tomb Raider ran into some continuity issues regarding the novel and subsequent comic arcs. I was trying to figure out the best way to avoid or include it while continuing to read, but ultimately got flustered with it and all the info I was absorbing. I've been considering an alternative approach to the videos and releasing a single video covering all the games without the book or comic tie-ins, and leave those optional for the viewer to read. Mainly I learned trying to combine 3 games, like 6+ DLC's, 2 novels and 30-40 comics into a series in chronological order will drive you crazy. So I'm thinking of going back and simply making a The Story So Far for all the Tomb Raider games once the last DLC for Shadow of the Tomb Raider drops! I hope that is satisfactory! =D

I've played the games and read the comics, but I had no idea there were also novels in the new Tomb Raider reboot story line.

It's a possibility! Yes there are two novels! Ten Thousand Immortals takes place right after the first game, but a lot of things mentioned in the book are retconned in the comics, BUT the developers still insist it's canon. So it's hailed very weirdly in the community, The second novel Path of the Apocalypse is a prequel to the game Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Pretty fun reads overall, just the weird continuity thing! =]
