Nancy Pfister was a well known socialite in Aspen. When she got into arguments with a couple renting her house, she returned from vacation early. A few days later, she was found tied up in her closet. But who could be responsible for this? An unlikely suspect would confess, but was he taking the wrap?

God I hate these condescending bastards who think they are better than 99.9% of humanity, just because their grandaddy lived in a wood hut on worthless land that - Oh lucky me ! - became part of a boom town and struck it rich. Hobnobbing with the rich and famous ("My Daddy sat on Bing Crosby's knee when he sang 'White Christmas'"), they treat all the rest as lackies and slaves ("Fetch the Champagne, mon cher....mais rapide, vite vite !"). I remember seeing an American Greed episode on this and from the sound of it, Pfister herself had a horrible reputation around town despite her charisma and philanthropy. It really baffles me how the people that know an individual who is known to be of poor character and/or horrible reputation can memorialize them as a saint when they’ve passed when knowing that was not who they were when they were alive. Still sad that Nancy was killed but given the factors and circumstances that lead up to that point, her death could have been avoided.

@@mylesepps4950 Normally, I would agree with you, but in this case I think they were right on the money. There is no way he did this alone. He was way too old and frail. I don't think Kathy was involved, or else they would've turned on her when she "turned on them", but his wife definitely was. If it was just him, why wait so long to confess? No. They were trying to hold out, maybe use Kathy as a scapegoat, but when things were looking better for Kathy, they decided (or he decided) that they really weren't getting out of this, so better the one with much less to lose takes the wrap for it all. It all fits. Nancy got away with murder. And that's the truth.
@dascorncakes1151
@dascorncakes1151 3 жыл бұрын
@@mylesepps4950 I need to correct you here because this is damaging information. Police do not benefit from arrests, fines or anything like that. They are payed a standard wage /w benefits like most other decent jobs. The money from fines is collected by the government, and when people are arrested they may preform prison labour in private prisons which go directly to the private owner, which usually they use to pay the wages and what not. In both of these cases the money is taxed, in the case of fines I believe it all goes directly to the government, which a small portion does go to the police, bust most of it goes to other sectors. In the case of prison labour it goes again either directly to the government or the owner of the prison.

No we don't know she was there. The problem with assumptions is that you're assuming based on what you are hearing and not on facts and evidence. Too many people do that and it ends in wrongful convictions and sometimes wrongful deaths. Too many cases are tried in the court of public opinion and by the time the case goes to trial the defendants have only a slim chance of getting a fair trial because the media love to put a sensational spin on these types of stories and that's what the jurors judge them by instead of on facts and evidence. BTW: Men, especially frail looking elderly men, are often a lot stronger than they seem.

I met Nancy Pfister once several years ago when i lived near Aspen and my experience was that she deserved her terrible reputation. So often in murder cases the victim was a sweet high school girl or woman just walking home from work and it really makes you mad, but in this case, is was a spoiled rich-bltch who finally pushed the wrong people and ate some Karma in the form of a hammer. No tears shed for her as this was avoidable by simply acting like a decent person.

I used to live in Denver & Golden Colorado, I moved away a few years before her murder. I was nowhere near as wealthy as Nancy & they say you shouldn't speak ill of the dead. However, I've long been a believer in death does not improve one's disposition & reputation lives forever. There were definitely 2 sides to Nancy. The side rich people saw & the side those she viewed as beneath her saw. Allegedly I moved away from Denver before she was murdered but even having never worked for her myself I'd heard enough about her that I wasn't surprised when it happened.

@@dreamsofsnow6521 Aspen residents like their privacy, so they probably won't allow anything being filmed except maybe glamour shots to entice tourists. I read a lot about Aspen from Hunter S. Thompson, the gonzo journalist that Mike mentioned in the vid. According to Hunter, a bit over half of the residents are wealthy conservatives that enjoy defiling nature in the name of farms, fishing and skiing, and that hate hippies; a large chunk are lukewarm democrats, also wealthy, but the quiet type that like nature, don't like anything raucous, but have tempered reverence for people like Thompson (so, drugged-out, wigged-out hippies); and a smaller percentage of residents are the aforementioned drugged-out, wigged-out hippies that are left-leaning nature lovers who do wild things like gift each other raw animal meat and blow off fireworks without permission. (then there's the less wealthy margin, which mostly exist there to serve all the rich residents). Maybe things are different today, but from the 1970's through to the 2000's that was how Aspen was according to Thompson. A strange haven where corporatists and acid-trippers were neighbors. Lots of Hollywood people like to live there (or used to at least), not just Jack Nicholson but also quite a few others, like the screen writer Dale Launer (until he sold his Aspen mansion a few years ago). It's curious that Nancy or her daughter (or whoever) wrote that she was a friend of Thompson, given that Thompson never mentioned her in any of his writings, and he had a habit of name-dropping every body that he shared drinks with, did drugs with or generally commiserated with. I also find it hard to imagine that Thompson would be friends with somebody like that lol.

I saw this on forensic files or something and they totally skimmed over Nancy's behaviour and the best friend's interrogation. They focused more on the evidence found. I think all 3 of them acted on it somehow and he took the blame to get taken care of in prison, and the wife divorced in order to protect their assets, as is common practise. Sounds like the best friend had a bigger role than she's letting on.

Interrogator: So how many strands would you say that you saw? Answer: Well, I personally counted them with a pair of tweezers at the scene and then spread them out, before taking some macro photography pictures to independently verify the fact that I saw exactly 234 strands of hair. Interrogator: How much blood would you say that you saw? Answer: Due to the differential absorption and evaporation patterns, it's difficult to tell. But I asked some CSI's I know and, after looking at the video evidence I took, they surmised that it was around 250ml. Interrogator: It's been a long night and I've been called in from my dads retirement party. I'm trolling you!
