One thing I love about Mikes videos, having just watched through them all, is the different approaches he takes to cases. Sometimes he's up front with what happened, so when the police/public are trying to figure things out we know the sad truth. Sometimes he reveals only what the public would have known and we piece it together how it was discovered. You never know what kind of mystery the case is going to be, and this constantly changing approach keeps things so fresh.

Remember Stephen McDaniels? He was the bushy haired guy who almost fainted when the news reporter asked him how he felt about police finding his missing and murdered neighbors body in the trash bin. Like AJ, Stephen went instantly weak too. But something tells me this isnt AJ's first kill.

The police don't have the resources to follow up on every missing person's report, especially since many of the cases end up not being crime-related. Overall the police did a good job in this case.

@@abcdefg-xm7dc It's true though. Many people, especially in Western countries, ghost their family and friends from their hometown the moment they turn into an adult or get a job. Ghosting has become this popular degenerate stuff of losers who doesn't have the decency to just say it to their face. Even before this phenomenon had a name, people used to do this. Hundreds of cases comes every month for a Police Station of alleged missing persons. It's impossible to give full attention to every one of them.

Thanks for covering this one, I remember it happening and never saw the outcome of the trial. Glad this guy is off the street. Forever. One of the creepier parts of this to me was that he got rid of a mattress on Craig's List, by giving it away free. The police appealed publicly to whomever picked up the mattress and they returned it to them. Just another reason why getting something "free" isn't always what it's cracked up to be. I think this guy was a disaster in the making.
