I moved here in 1973 and used to take it for granted. Now older, i realize just how blessed I am to be here and have raised my children here, away from the hectic kaos of the outside world.

the first of the events depicted reputedly happened around 1900 - but the book wasn't published until 1953 - by author Henry Colp's daughter Virginia - whose mother found the manuscript shortly after her husband died - - the daughter lived in Petersburg - a town near Wrangell - where the Colp narration begins - (i was born & raised in Wrangell but haven't been there in decades) not mentioned in the narrative - the creatures are presumably Kóoshdaa Káa (KOOSH - ta- kaw) - the tlingit (klin - kit) indians' resident big-bad-wolf - my full-blooded tingit grandmother would try to scare us by saying the Kóoshdaa Káa would get us if we did something bad - we were never scared - and it never caught us this story is passable horror - written by an amateur - the lack of polish makes it seem more - well - authentic? - horror is measured by how much fun the terror was

I once knew a territorial assayer of Alaska. He told me of a large tree, surrounded by a vast green impenetrable forest tuft, struck by lightning and up rooted, fallen over. The earth was exposed and he saw chunks of quartz heavily ribboned with gold. It was near the coast, 1/2 day by boat north of Ketchikan.

@tech5298 Gemstones and metals grow from the ancient trees that are now petrified in the forests and camouflaged as mountains. I am not surprised about your true account of the guy who told you about a "large tree, surrounded by a vast green impenetrable forest tuft.... the earth was exposed and he saw chunks of quartz heavily ribboned with gold". Miners know this and they mine the ancient trees , including digging into the roots of those trees. You will find diamonds, gold, rubies, lots of quartz veins because quartz is the petrified sap of these ancient trees, amethyst, citrine, and any other gemstone and metal you can imagine.

@@RemoteCabinRadioThere are many strange things all over the world no doubt. I remember hearing a story about a giant snake in Vietnam. So big it used it's head to crush a cow and carry it away. A group of soldiers saw it and were told they didn't see anything by their superiors. Also there is that cliff in India I believe that looks like a giant petrified snake. It's uncanny how much it looks like a snake. It has literal scales which a cliff should obviously not have. There's also local folklore in that area about it being a giant snake that was turned to stone. Anyways, there are things humanity wants to ignore and people, some of who have never left there small town or big city, claim does not exist, but reality is stranger than fiction. The strange foot prints were never described. Were they split hooved like deer? More like a dog or bear? Did they have distinct toes like a raccoon or opossum?

Caught the narrator in a lie. The account of the trapper, told in the first person does not add up. How was his account of the trip recorded if he went in alone?
@shelahansuriza94632 ай бұрын
The voice narrating this story didn't bother me. It's interesting these many men experienced the same strangeness proceeding years. Not coincidentel, the magnetic fields the unusual layout of the land. Feels like that whole area has portals. The creatures feel it and are using the area to protect themselves. Still a creepy story I wouldn't go there.

This is literally the first time I've listen to something like this and obviously I'm ignorant about this complaint but I honestly had no idea this was not a real person reading aloud. Only found out it was AI when I started reading the comments. I went back to listen again and can't figure out what the complaints are all about..? The voice is very clear and pronunciation almost perfect, maybe a little monotone and doesn't express much of emotions but not enough by any means to get sp fed up that I couldn't finish and start bitching about it in the comments...maybe you all are just a bunch of Karen's and are prone to making a big thing out of nothing. There are bigger things in the world to worry about, honestly.

I think most of these channels are now 90% ai. Ai chooses the shoes, writes the shows, makes the shows, reads the shows. People have multiple channels being run by ai. If you have 25 channels each getting 100k views/month, all being run by ai, then you’re not working much and you’re making good money.

The way I listen to determine if it is chat GPT is by the pronunciation of words. Instead of a thoroughbred horse, it might be pronounced through the bread horse. Something like that anyway, I'm no expert. Just watch KZbin instead of channel programs. I asked a friend of mine if there was a way to tell if a program is Chat GPT or not, and he runs a Christian radio station. He told me no, not yet, but right now, they are trying to pass legislation so that when someone produces something like this video, they will need to inform us that it is a Chat GPT program, or book whatever type of media that they are replicating.

Why does the title on the book in the thumbnail say "Strangest ever story"..am the only one that bothers? Well, obviously not as much as AI appears to bother everyone else..its amazing what we allow to get under our skin but the AI is thdre for a reason whether it helps in the production, which takes time theyre offering up for free to give us a good doc, or if they prefer keeping anonymity, I think it suffices to say that other producers dont really get bothered cause they understand. Why dont ya'll make 10, 2 hour videos and we'll see how many cede to using one as well.

most by the inconsistent pronunciations - altho humans will sometimes make the same errs - but they'll notice and stop and correct it - there were a few here - but i can't recall what they were - i particularly noticed that time when they occurred a few seconds apart
