Chris, I too once lived at Canyon where I was working as a research technician on a marten study. Today I work in both GTNP and YNP, so every working day of my life I’m in one park or the other. This video was absolutely captivating. No doubt, this place has many deep, strange mysteries, and I suspect the NPS would just as soon keep them on the down-low. I’d be fascinated by any other accounts of such things in the GYE you can find. Thank you.

Chris, in 2011 my wife and I stopped at the last pullout on the south end of Jackson Lake so she could take some sunset pictures. Everything was quiet and still as the sun went down and there was nobody else there and no other traffic. As we stood on the shore,, from behind us approximately 100 yards back in the forest there came a single loud wood knock that echoed across the lake! Needless to say our stop was over and we got the heck out of there! Yes, he is present in GTNP….

My husband and I went to Yellowstone for our honeymoon way back in 1976. If I would have known about the volcanos back then I would have refused to go there. My husband wanted to drive all the way to California. We made it as far as Idaho. I got homesick and missed my Mom. I had just turned 18. I just graduated from high school that June. Got married the same month. It’s now 2024 I have finally matured. I have 4 adult grandchildren. I tell them all these stories. They think these stories are funny. There grandpa passed away when the oldest grandson was three. None of them knew him so I tell them stories of everything we did . I’m not so sure they believe I have finally matured though.

My brother took a job at the Patton ranch next to Yellowstone when he graduated from college. It’s located about 25 miles from West Yellowstone the town. Spent time there with them and took horseback rides up into the mountains of the Gallatin Gateway. That was when I was about 16 years old. Went back out when I was 63. Visited the ranch and enjoyed conversations with the Patton descendants. Lots of memories flooded back. So enjoyed my time there.

Bob Action Jackson was the most decorated Park Ranger - ever. I first heard of him and listened to a brief interview with him back around 2010. When I first heard Chris speak about working in Yellowstone some months ago, I figured he must have known and/or knew Bob, as he was a legend. You are correct about the horrendous noise he heard and he heard it several times before his sighting. Currently he and/or family own a Bison Ranch north of Des Moines. It would be fantastic if some researcher would go there and try and get a lengthy interview with Bob Jackson, so I noninate you Chris. Also I would think that when the rangers found that trackway, they would have noticed the individuals steps had no straddle, that is they walked in a straight line. I found such a trackway that was very fresh on the outskirts of the Huron National Forest, Iosco County Michigan early Feb. of 2011 just after a 20 inch snowfall.

First time watching Base Camp Chris. My first impression of Chris makes me think he was a elementary school teacher at one point. Easy to listen to, easy to follow, and well spoken. Maybe a tour guide? Interesting enough I noticed a few things that caused me to pause and think. We tend to look to the right when we are imagining things, but towards the left when we are remembering. However, it is also thought that looking to the right and downwards suggests self-doubt, while looking to the right and up indicates that a person is telling untruths.

My Sunday afternoon is waiting for my 2 favorite KZbinrs to post their new videos. My 2 favorite KZbin channels are Base camp Chris and Mr. Ballen. I enjoy your humor and story telling. Love from Maryland.

Hey Chris et. al.......once again another great show!...Thanks for keeping sasquatch in the forefront, I know the forest workers are trying to keep things quiet so as not to spook the public. I think things should be talked about though to keep vistors safe, especially the kids! We would run all over the , campgrounds trails by ourselves and never saw anything dangerous! good storys!

We ❤ the cabin wall behind you and love your talented story telling with captivating facial expressions. Really wish you could run camping expiditions in these national parks. 🌺

Chris, those stories about Yellowstone confirmed my opinion that Yellowstone has always been a place where BF has lived for hundreds or thousands of years. Great stories as always !

I love it that there are a whole bunch of "camp fire story" people out there like me. And I love the way Chris regales us with tales! You nail the whole vibe, Chris.
