I've often wondered if Fire Release could by applied in a similar manner to the Raikage's chakra cloak? We know from other Jutsu that the heating of Chakra tends to have a powerful effect on physical abilities so it seems like there would be some reasonable application.

Well it’s never used with just fire but the jinjuriki of 4 tails (the ape son goku lol) uses his lava style in that manner. Idk if it’s roshis or gokus technique though I don’t remember. Plus you can do it with sand and boost your defense, so who knows what else you could do lol.

The ability to create and manipulate the element of fire is my favorite in any form of elemental magic in any kind of fictional setting, and yes Fire Style, Scorch Style, and Inferno Style are all my favorite types of ninjutsu too see in Naruto because of that reason, Scorch Release is a more powerful form of Fire Style for two reasons, it's a kekkei genkai nature release meaning it's already more powerful than the base five nature types, and it takes advantage of Wind Styles ability too amp Fire Style, and Inferno Style is just better Fire Style, giving the fact that it is dojutsu kekkei genkai and Sasuke made it a nature release one too is already insane, but its a nature release one too because its so powerful, Sasuke can preform Inferno Style jutsu with greater control because it relies on his two Mangekyo Sharingan abilities, Amaterasu which is the highest level of Fire Style a person can preform, and Kagutsuchi which allows him too bend and shape the flames of Amaterasu giving better control and versatility, another thing too is that unlike regular Fire Style, Inferno Style techniques can't be stopped normally because 1, they can't be extinguished by anything unless the caster dissipates them, and the flames created from Amaterasu will also burn forever, 7 days and 7 nights

The reason why fire release is so weak or “nerfed” like how some people label it, is because unlike chakra based fire, real fire is stupidly dangerous. It doesn’t even have to touch you in order to be lethal. The gases alone kill people most of the time before the actual fire does and heat alone is capable of killing you in the sense that the fire doesn’t have to be on you. Now picture all of this and amplify it by 1000% via chakra (throwing out random numbers but you get the implication) and you have fire users being the most op mfs in the verse. AND on top of all of this, amplify that by 1000 more% due to amaterasu, which has clearly been shown to burn fire. Completely away. Amaterasu without a doubt should be a guaranteed one shot, no questions asked. I’m not saying fire kills instantaneously but if anyone has seen severe burn victims, we know how fucking awful fire is. If fire in Naruto didn’t kill people, it should have at least been powerful enough to render people into severe critical condition. The only guy we’ve seen badly burned was Yagura.

Amaterasu doesn't have a "travel time." The flames generate at the focal point of the users vision. It's akin to spontaneous combustion. The only way Raikage and Naruto were able to counter it were shedding off chakra cloaks to protect their fragile flesh. Also, I'm going to disagree with the assessment that Madara's variant of Great Fireball was somehow "better" than Amaterasu. There have been so many asspulls with Amaterasu, so many times it was used either by someone with nonlethal intent (Itachi) or inexperience (early MS Sasuke), and so many times the opponent "just so happened to have a counter" that its groanworthy. Yet as recently as Itachi and Sasuke vs Sage Kabuto, it was called (by Kabuto, who knows a lot about ninjutsu!) the ultimate attack technique. Not just the ultimate FIRE attack technique, no - just the ultimate attack ninjutsu. Period. Yes, it has been given a weak showing, but that is almost entirely due to plot. Kind of like Itachi himself, who is always fighting opponents who he's not trying to kill, or who just so happen to have a counter. And even when Itachi used it one time with lethal intent (Nagato) it still killed Nagato and his summon - the only way Nagato could regenerate is to disperse it with Almighty Push, and the only reason he could do that is because he's literally immortal. Another asspull circumstance. Thought experiment: replace all fire jutsus used by Madara with Amaterasu, and tell me that regular fire is better.

Something has bugged me ever since that Jiraya vs Pain fight. Why didn't the absorbing path guy turn into a turn from absorbing the sage art goemon technique. That was a huge amount of sage chakra after all. Yet nothing happened.

That is true, because only sage mode moves work on 10 tails jinjuriki and even otsutsuki isn’t just absorbing sage mode attacks (I don’t think, I don’t remember) and even called mitsuki sage mode dangerous even though he scaled no where near sasuke and naruto even in that mode. So the sage art jutsu should have been more than enough for a path of pain.

Katsuyu's acid is the most potent acidic/burning technique in the series. It vaporizes stone on immediate contact, can affect truth seeking orbs and dissolve them as its senjutsu, can one shot orochimaru and we all know how hard he is to kill.

One trick I was kinda disappointed to not see is cigarette fire style. Basically instead of creating fresh fire every time, instead the control and amplify the embers of the cigarette. It has been stated that controlling existing sources of an element is both less chakra intensive and more powerful, part of the reason I suspect temari carries a giant fan. this could also be applied to Shinobi carrying fire bombs. Now that I am thinking about it fire is the one element that grows on it's own. a fire user could shoot a small D rank fire ball then, if it wasn't put out, would grow exponentially throughout the fight until a fire user has a forest fire to through at his opponent, all for less chakra than the great fire ball.

So, I'll be that guy (or one of those guys since someone probably all ready said this somewhere) but flint does not spark. Flint is able to be made very sharp, and therefore is able to cut off very thin slivers of steel. The cut surface of the steel "flakes" oxidizes (aka rusts, which is the exact same chemical reaction as burning) and therefore generates heat. Since there is so little volume of steel in the flake to heat up, and such a large surface area (relative to the volume,) the steel goes to a high temperature, which is the spark that we see.

Technically, water release users could make steam jutsu without fire release. Same with earth users making magma with just super fine control over the earth to condense it and make magma. I just thought about it in Sage Art Guema (15:35) why does Ma produce the fire when she is a toad and Jiraya can produce fire and it makes like no sense. If a Toad Sage can produce toad oil why doesn’t Naruto or why wasn’t he taught that. At first I thought maybe Jiraya incomplete sage mode might force him to create toad oil since he becomes so toad like, but incomplete form having an ability the perfect form doesn’t is weird.

Burning ash has to surround its opponent and then go off. Doesn't really make sense to put it higher than a fire jutsu that is already fire when it surrounds the opponent. Think about it. If you made contact with a fireball, then you'd burn the opponent. But you make contact with burning ash, your opponents like, "oh shit, I should get out of here." Before you can commit to the jutsu. Any ninja worth their salt wouldn't just stay there and die. Lol
