The only issue I ever have with this knot is that tag end hitting the guides on the way out. It’s a strong knot but I switched to the fg to remedy the problem. Give it a try.

this knot failed miserably - i used 80lb braid and 40lb fluro - the fluro was line with knot, and upon testing, the mono easily pulled through/loose.

Seems good, but the FG is less bulky, and looks a lot easier to remember and tie than that, not that I've tried this one. I pulled in a 32" (wide) bat ray on 20 lb gear with an FG knot braid to fluoro leader, just takes a little practice, but with braid, it's pretty darn easy. Braid just sits where you wrap it, so it's not hard to tie a good FG. I do it on a moving kayak regularly.

Really should lubricate your knot before pulling it. tightening without lube will cause friction and does damage the line. Very simple to just spit on it!

I promise you'd catch more fish if you learned to tie line to line. I used to be a swivel guy myself, but ever since I switched I catch twice as many fish. I only use swivels when I throw spoons so the leader doesn't twist.

Swivels do not fit through the small guide on the tip of the rod. Even if they are very small in order to fit, they will severely damage the guides after some period. You can only use them only if you don't feed the connection through the guides. Even so, it's proven you have poor results compared to line to line connection.
