I think Tsumugi being so plain and non memorable, to the point where no jokes about those factors are done, is quite purposeful. In universe, she wrote this game's story, and a common error people make when qriting self inserts into their stories is to give too much attention to themselves. So Tsumugi, in her wish to blend in the background and not attract either suspicion or desire to be killed by others by mistake, made the comolete opposite error, she made herself a non factor. Her constant reinforcement of this feels forced and, knowing that she's behind everything, likely is. It's her telling herself and her audience that she ISN'T a worthwhile character. She isn't there to be entertaining to the audience, the other students are. So, she overcorrects the common mistake of giving oneself too much attention, by giving herself none. Ultimately it works. While, when a player reaches the end, it can kinda be obvious that she is behind everything, as nothing has been done with her, in universe the people at home likely know already about everything, her killing Rantaro apart, so it doesn't matter to them. All that mattered for her was ensuring an entertaining show with her characters, and keeping a close eye on everyone as an almost "fly on the wall" deal served her perfectly.

Never have I heard this kind of opinion about Tsumugi and I THINK THAT *PERFECTLY MAKES SENSE* she clearly was a writer in the killing game making it entertaining, she is not there to be an interesting character in the game in the 1st place but more of a "SPY" to see if the viewers were ACTUALLY loving the story that every chapter is made just a background character becoming the one BEHIND THE SCENES I ACTUALLY SEE HER NOW AS A GODDAMN GOOD CHARACTER XDDD

I think my low key favorite Shuichi moment was during case 2’s investigation where, after examining the puddle near the tank’s stairs, he immediately connects that someone was changing their clothes there. If it were Makoto, he’d have Kyoko straight up tell him that. If it were Hajime, he wouldn’t have made the connection until either Chiaki/Nagito would vaguely hint at that. But Shuichi deduced that right there, and it’s a fast and organic way to highlight the differences between the three.

So, I’d like to present a counterpoint I’ve seen floating around about Tsmugi and Sonia. They are actually following the best possible route to survival in the killing game: never doing something to stand out but not enough that they appear dead weight. In Sonia’s case, her lack of presence yet entirely present allows her to survive the game and potentially get back to her people. In Shirogane’s case, this allows her to stealthily lay the dominos and steer the conversation to continue the plot, continuously pulling the carpet out from under the player time and time again. While the strategy works very well, it is continuously written off by players due to the lack of information towards it. The most popular fan fiction thing about V3 actually does a good job correcting some of the problems with Shirogane and giving her a breakdown on top of it.
@somethingsnappytothe2nd2803 жыл бұрын
I agree with this. Tsumugi feels like a joke on the more "do nothing" survivors like Sonia and to an extent Hagakure. She's just relevant and quirky enough to not make her completely suspicious, but lacks any dynamic character arc and does about the absolute bare minimum. You can do her free time events and get attached to her, but otherwise she's nearly irrelevant. It makes the whole reveal of orchestrating Rantaro's murder even more diabolical, because this supposedly one note character played the long con and duped everyone. It makes the bathroom reveal give you a pit in your stomach as you hold the idea that Tsumugi did what she did and makes your reevaluate her otherwise forgettable behavior. Were her tears for Gonta, Kaede and the others fake? I do agree it couldv'e been handled better IE: have Tsumugi do a few more things or form a few more relationships with other characters, but I feel for the whole thing to work, Tsumugi can't be too relevant to the plot or too many major moments.

As someone who loves Korekiyo to death and has been groomed before, I like to think that Kiyo being groomed into that relationship is what the writers might've been going for. Nothing about the relationship is balanced at all and there's almost nothing about him that DOESN'T tie back to his sister in some way. It's super tragic because Korekiyo wasn't ever given a chance to process that what his sister to him was wrong and I think that was COMPLETE wasted potential as something to explore if chapter 3 had gone through with anything it had hinted at (ahem, HAVING TWO KILLERS AND BEING FORCED TO LIVE AMOGST ONE SINCE ONLY THE FIRST ONE WOULD BE EXECUTED) Anyway. Yeah, it's pretty fucked up that the other students held like NO sympathy and just got left with the impression that he was some "sister loving psycho" and it makes me so sad, not to even mention that it was made into a huge joke with the monokubs for like all of chapter 4. (Gonta) as the killer (Tsumugi at least trying to argue against Shuichi in the class trial (maybe as a rebuttal showdown) would have given her some relevance). They could have done so much with Tsumugi (I love her character (and thinking about what they could have done with her makes me love her more, but without those ideas to hold her character up for me, she's just there until chapter 6 and it's so sad because she had potential).

Same. I kinda don't like when people say Hajime is "Makoto but rougher", or he is just another self-insert for the player. His attitude in the whole prologue is the most reasonable out of everyone, which can be similar to Kaede in some way. He suspects EVERYTHING in the island and always thinks about a way out. Both him and Kaede in their respective prologues seems to be bewildered to how people can accept the situation so easily and actively try to find if there is any way for them to get out of the islands/academy. What differs them is Hajime doesn't know shit about himself, making him can't trust anyone or even himself, which makes him parallel with Rantaro in that regard. Meanwhile Kaede besides not knowing how she's there, has pretty solid idea of who she is and has foundation to tackle things more positively.

I feel like a lot of people forget that we are witnessing all of these characters in not their usual state. They are in a killing game and as such all of their feelings, emotions and coping mechanisms are heightened to the extremes. Kokichi first chapter is completely different than kokichi four and onwards. Kokichi first chapter is just doing harmless pranks and teasing and that’s it. He was actually willing to DIE with everyone else in the first motive since it was down to the wire and kokichi basically had no plan and was with a group of people. As the killings went on you can see kokichi get worse and worse as like Kaito falls back on his hero complex, kokichi falls back on his villian complex. Like junko I think that kokichi true feelings are when he’s not really reacting widely it’s why I like kokichi since I really think he was upset that he thought he had to do that to gonta and shuichi roast affected him. Do I think he’s all good, absolutely not. But I think he’s a pretty morally grey character who is just a small nuisance in every day scenarios.

Thank you for explaining Kaito's character so well! Kaito is able to read people's emotions from what I can see throughout the game. In the 3rd trial he helped Himiko push forward from Tenko's death. Himiko would have kept blaming herself thinking how late it was to talk to Tenko. Shuichi of course helped Himiko out aswell later in the trial from what he learned from Kaito. With trial 4 he sadly was right of Gonta being innocent but was wrong at the same time because Gonta lost his memory. But Kaito is someone important to Shuichi. He helped push him forward and be more confident with himself just like how Kaede was doing. Kaede and Kaito's beliefs are very much similar with believing in everyone but also how they both became the blackened. In the 1st trial Shuichi didn't say anything to Monokuma when Kaede got executed, this what triggered Kaito to punch him because he got frustrated that he was quiet the whole time. But when chapter 5 came, Shuichi was literally talking back at Monokuma to prevent Kaito from getting killed. Shuichi was the complete opposite on how he acted in Chapter 1. I honestly love that growth in Shuichi. I wish would have you talked a bit of Kaito's love suite scene. He seems to think the person who he likes doesn't think the same as he does apparently. He likes rivals to lovers but just wants to confess his love to them after a challenge. There's no gender that is brought up at all, he just wants to be with someone who can be his rival. And the funny thing is, Kokichi and Kaito are considered as rivals throughout the game. Hmm. 🤔

For me, Tsumugi has the same issue as Chiaki did back in SDR2. I don’t think Chiaki is a good character by any means, as I find her boring and uninteresting, and essentially waifu bait - AKA, her literal intention within the narrative. Chiaki and Tsumugi are both characters who were let down by the narrative; Chiaki’s in-universe waifu bait role meant they couldn’t write her to be interesting in any way, and Tsumugi’s in-universe role as the plain background character whose revealed to be the mastermind made her fail on so many different levels.

My opinions on each character- Kaede - Kind! I sort of wish the plot twist started with shuichi as the protag and he's revealed as the murderer, but I guess kaedes death has significance. Tenko - I think she's really kind and kind of panicky and ecstatic, and kind of childish but she's okay! I like how in the 3rd chapter she seems more comfortable around shuichi, and other people almost as if she's getting comfortable around male characters- Angie - I think that she was genuinely trying to make it so no murders happen anymore. Because being put in a situation like everyone in the killing game, probably the best thing to do to avoid more murder is blissful ignorance, or being in a cult for example- Rantaro - He seemed very mysterious when we first saw him and I thought he was extremely kind and calm and I wish I was able to see his character more Gonta - something that I thought personally of gonta is that he didn't do things like hit shuichi in chapter 2, and he didn't do things like throw keebo because it makes you as the player feel kind of scared and uncomfortable- but he's still kind.. Shuichi - shuichi in my opinion was more interesting before chapter 2 because he was calm and collected and he seemed very kind and mysterious but I do understand the character growth after kaede died.. Ryoma - I genuinely wish ryomas death had more significance with his classmates because he was already suicidal and if I were a student there I would cry because I enjoyed ryomas significance and his company, he was very wise and nice and I'm sad he died Kirumi - Kirumi is the most justifiable murderer in the entire danganronpa series. She is extremely smart and her execution shows her devotion to saving people. Which is so sad because monokumas execution gave her despair because he pushed her to a point where she would do anything if it meant escaping the prison of killing game.. Korekiyo - IM UNCOMFORTABLE but also I feel bad for him.. but the danganronpa team is BAD AT REPRESENTING TRAUMA AGAIN!! Demonizing people with mental illnesses! Miu - Miu is actually way smarter than alot of danganronpa characters take credit for, but everyone focuses on her being fanservice-ey and I guess it's kind of true.. I also cried when I saw her dead with her crying.. Kokichi - Kokichi lying is genuinely terrifying because just like nagito, it gives you a lingering feeling after they died which is scary. But hes kind! Maki - She is kind I guess- but she is also scary lol Kaito - OKAY SO KAITO is a very kind character, but sometimes his kindness is too much in class trials- but something I like in danganronpa is how in trial 4 kokichi and Kaito represent shuichis mindset, kokichi being his mind and Kaito being his emotions- Himiko - himiko caring for tenko after she dies is really sad considering tenko cared unconditionally for himiko which is also one of the games mind/heart significance Keebo - KEEBO IS ADORABLE AND POLITE AND KIND AND I HATE how everyone is such a jerk to him and I hate how kokichi and Miu sexualize him on the basis of him being a robot. Kokichi is a Character I wanted to like but can't due to how self-contradicting he is and how lackluster his plans are and require the help of the other students. But my main problem lies in the game's lack of decision on what they wanted to make him, a amoral villain with a lack of care in the world for how his actions affect others. Or a nuanced character who pushed himself too far into a corner and but did what he did out of fear and desperation to end the killing game. Which could of been fixed if they made him a 1-dimensional villain with no chance for nuance whatsoever or elaborate on his backstory and who he as there's nothing to really work with. As when I saw Kokichi's motivational video, I felt nothing for him couldn't muster any sympathy for as any moments that might of felt genuine for him is ruined by his lack of meaningful characterization. I can see how he can be found to be a fun character and you've done a great job painting the good some might not see in his character. Overall, great job on the video and keep up the great work.

....so are we not acknowledging that these characters are actually in-world fictionally written by a team of people who make money on peoples fetishistic obsession with hope vs despair, on their 53rd season? (minus tsumugi, who is an actor, and thus her character won't always make sense either- shes not just a mastermind, shes a mastermind trying to fade into the background for an audience so theres yet another thrilling twist at the end, as must be rote for these killing games) same with korekiyo, actually. stuff like 'we have another mentally unwell serial killer with a split personality' 'these twists were only included to make him a twisted psychopath', i thought was the entire point. maybe this is kind of 'its so bad its actually good!' of me, but that was the point of the game where i was like 'this seems ridiculous, repetitive, needlessly extreme, and kind of doesnt make sense'.....which weirdly DOES makes sense; the team writing it is running out of ideas, reusing old ones, and reaching far beyond acceptable limits to create wilder, more 'despairful' characters to keep viewer interest. at least, thats what i took away from it, and i hope it was intentional. otherwise, spike chunsoft is ironically just as bad a writing team as the team danganronpa the characters were fighting against.

Don't worry, I plan on acknowledging the implications of Chapter 6's reveals on the characters/backstories in the future! For the sake of this video, I wanted to focus on how I perceived them *as characters* before finding out everything was fake. (Otherwise this video would've been even longer lol) But on your point with Korekiyo, I agree that's the entire point of it. For some people it's less of an issue for them! My main issue is that it relies on tropes and stereotypes that are considered harmful to certain groups (especially people who have DID or experienced s*xual abuse) and I wasn't sure if I felt like it was worth the end result. But that's just me! Either way, I kind of like your interpretation of the ending and how characters were written! It definitely kind of feels like "so bad it's good" kind of writing, lol.
@ohthisguyagain53863 жыл бұрын
@@thetiniestleaf well, small correction, but Korekiyo doesn't have DID, he has what is called a Tulpa. It's kind of similar in concept, but actually completely different. DID is a mental illness and, well, you know I dont think I think you know what you should about it so I won't waste anymore time. A tulpa is more of a cultural/spiritual practice. It's a manifestation of an imaginary being willed into their mind. I guess you could think of it as an imaginary friend. A good example is the Babadook from the movie of the same name (except, you know, the creature isn't actually real). With Korekiyo it's handled weirdly. It has the undertones of DID, which makes it accidentally misleading and that in of itself is an issue, but Kodaka did confirm he meant for it to be a tulpa. It's more like Korekiyo started practicing it after his sister died and because he's clearly mentally ill, he started believing "Sister" was a real person. His mental health is kind of tragic when you think about it, and I think the writers could have done something really interesting with it, because we haven't actually had a character that, in a real court, would be deemed not guilty by reason of insanity. Korekiyo is actually a pretty realistic presentation of an insane serial killer. He sort of reminds me of Ed Gein (not that he deserves any kind of sympathy, but you get what I mean).Unfortunately, however, we got what we did and it wasn't handled well at all

...Okay? That doesn't make it good tho. And I've played enough spike chunsoft games to know that these tropes are basically part of their repertoire. Regardless of the whole 53rd killing game twist, their shitty writing of certain characters shouldn't be hand waved away with "oh, but it was intentionally bad" Sorry but no, I can't get on board with this take at all Thats my thoughts on the matter, anyways

While I agree overall the cast of Danganronpa V3 are a bit underwhelming due to some of their major shortcomings, like Korekiyo, the 5 main character(Kaede, Kaito, Maki, Shuichi, and Kokichi) I find to be brilliant. They are easily some of if not my favorite characters in the series. And many of the other, like you mentioned, have incredible personality and development, their shortcomings are just so large they fall short of both of the other casts as a whole.

Honestly in my opinion v3 has more better chracters overall in the series and yet also has the most lost potential. I think also another problem is that all the good chracters (besides maki) have already died so tsumugi's reveal feels weak and especially since practically we only have three students left and personally i wished himikyo never lasted as long since after chapter 3 she really doesnt reclaim the momentum she had coming out of chapter 3

TinyLeaf, when I watched your first video of how Mikan’s trial could have been renovated to be memorable, heartbreaking, and amazing if they actually did choose to write it amazingly. I thought about how I would change the survivors of each game, and this is what I came up with for each game and my justification/lore THH: Makoto, Kyoko, Byakuya, Aoi, Toko, and finally.. Kiyotaka. Explanation: Something that bothered me in the first game was how they handled Kiyotakas death, because usually the true importance of the survivors in Danganronpa is how they keep the memory of everyone who they lost, I feel like Yasuhiro is sort of like the Sonia of this class. Sort of like a waste of a character, they both barely mourn and keep the memory of other characters alive compared to the other’s. (Makoto is the protagonist, so he’s a exception but I would say Sayaka is the person he mourns, then Kyoko was there as the support, then Byakuya went through better character development, Aoi is a interesting character because she lost her friend or possible lover committed suicide in order to help everyone, Toko didn’t really lose anyone, but she’s important for future games, albeit them being kind of BAD, but let’s continue… Yasuhiro had no place with everyone there. His most important contribution is that he played a role in chapter 3, and chapter 1. If Kiyotaka survived, it would mean grieving for not only Mondo, but also Chihiro. Kiyotaka would have to live knowing that his CRUSH or friend had killed someone, and it would be better well executed compared to Sonia’s. In my opinion). GD: Your video explains it mostly, but the best points are that there is a better arc compared to Sonia’s, and it would actually be really cool to see if Kazuichi and Gundham actually became friends in chapter 4, and he could be the replacement for Sonia. Also Hiyoko and Fuyuhiko could bond over how they are both pieces of garbage that accidentally got someone important to them killed, and instead of hating each other forever because they were constantly being awful to the other in the past, because Sato killed Fuyuhiko’s sister, which caused him to kill Sato, which caused him to attempt to kill Mahiru after she said that you shouldn’t hold biases towards other’s, that got Peko killed instead, and traumatized Hiyoko who was on Mahiru’s case the entire time. They both could say “life is too short for stupid things like this!” And they both become best friends who make jokes and insult others in a funny way. KH: (There would be a option at the beginning of the game that tells you “would you like to play as Kaede, or Shuichi?” And depending on who you pick, it changes the outcome for the entire game. If you pick Kaede, she will be culprit of chapter 1, if you pick Shuichi he will be the culprit of chapter 1 and the role of the protagonist will switch to Kaede. The death order would be different as well, so there would be different survivors, victims, and executions. But basically at the end, it would have these people as the survivors. (If you pick Kaede). Shuichi, Maki, Himiko. (If you pick Shuichi). Kaede, Rantaro, And Ryoma. Just like how Kaito is the support for Shuichi after Kaede dies, Rantaro could take that place as the support. I also chose Ryoma because his character development could be how he was suicidal, but his friends and everyone else gave him the will to live, he learns that the point to living doesn’t go away once you feel like you have lost everything, you can make new reasons to live if you are strong enough. But anyways yeah,

minor nitpick. split personality disorder isnt really a thing. for disordered plurality its either DID (dissociative identity disorder) or OSDD 1-a/b (other specified dissociative disorder 1-a and 1-b) some dont mind the term split personality but i and many others find it more stigmatizing or harmful overall as a general term. (also for those over 20 years out of the know multiple personality disorder WAS a thing but was changed for either the dsm 4 or 5 i forget which it was lmao.) though i do think syokawa are really fun and i love them and theres actually things in fukawas backstory that make syos methods pretty ironic. i also like shinguji himself (as most others pre trial 3) though we have had talks with other systems who found him and syokawa kinda bad portrayals or just gross lmao. overall decent video though gjgj

(especially looking forward to hearing what you think about the ending because Man) i agree that tsumugi's not very likable, but i do think that she's an interesting character. i think her plainness works in a lot of great ways: as another commenter pointed out, it keeps her alive, but it also keeps her out of the forefront of the actual story, which i think was part of her primary goal she's part of the production team, and because the mastermind reveal has the potential to alienate the audience members who liked that character before their evil reveal, she made herself less noticeable and less appealing to the viewers of the show. also, in a sense, she was a viewer too- she wanted to watch the show that she was putting on, and if she became a central character in the story she made, it would be less interesting to her MAN i have so many thoughts about drv3, it's so good

It's interesting. I had a completely different take on Anjie. I actually put her into a similar camp as someone like Sonia. Having an extremely western first name, I viewed her more like the So Cal beach girl. Sure she's darker than the other cast members, but with her sun bleached blonde hair and tendency to always be in swimwear, to me that just seemed like something you'd see of white girl who spends a lot of time out at the beach, or in her case, growing up on an island. She struck me as the type of girl who got really caught up in nontraditional religion or maybe even founded her own since she also claims to be the prophet of her god. So rather than being a stereotype of dark skinned people, it felt more closely related to religious colonialism when she attempts to spread her beliefs through the rest of the cast.

My only problem with shuichi as a protag is that after chapter 1 he does nothing until someones been murdered. In chapter 1 he is proactive and finds the masterminds secret lair, but as soon as the player takes control, his skills become limited to what the player clicks on and his actions are limited to what other characters (mainly kaito) tells him to do. In a later chapter he even says "im only useful during a murder" which. Just isnt true. I understand him being too depressed yo investigate in chapter 2 after kaede died, but afterwards there really isnt any justification for him to just hang around and not investigate the school further, especially since he knows that the secret door in the library is right there. I like how hes more observant during the investigations which gives the writers more flexibility to make cases harder, but imo that isnt worth sacrificing shuichis proactiveness to investigate the rest of the school like he did in chapter 1 (Gonta found writing ona rock and shuichi isnt even going to compare the handwriting of the other students to see if anyone wrote it? They get new info from flashback lights and shuichi isnt going to research in the library to verify it?? Monokuma straight up gives them a keycard and shuichi doesnt immediately go "gimme the card i wanna see if it works on the masterminds secret lair"???)

i feel like a good solution to the Rantaro problem would be such an easy fix. just quickly shoe-horn in a tutorial showing the player how hit things to get coins then force the player to buy 'taro's free time first. it's so common in games that the player wouldn't expect anything, makes sure they actually relate to him and tells the player how the game mechanic works.

I think V3 has the most solid characters, for me. And it actually felt like none of them wanted to compete in the killing game (like in 1 and 2) First trial: Kaede only killed to try and end the game, she did so reluctantly. Second trial: Kirumi only killed because she needed to help those outside of the game Third trial: Korekiyo went crazy Forth trial: tricked into “mercy” kill Fifth kill: tricked to try and end the game. In 1 and 2 it feel like the students just give in and willingly kill each other. You might be able to make a case like this for the second game but it doesn’t hold up as well.

15:58 okay okay OKAY BUT THE IDEAS YOU TALKED ABOUT FOR ANGIE ARE SO COOL??? It would’ve been super interesting if during chapter 2 (before befriending Himiko most likely), maybe after making a small artistic alter for both Rantaro and Kaede when walking into the dining hall (when he took off his hat), she then asked Shuichi if she’d like to pray to Atua with her - maybe saying to do it for protection? Or as a way to pay respects for both Kaede and Rantaro? (Maybe because i just loved the illustration used lmao) It could’ve been an interesting way to get to know more about Angie and her beliefs without the FTE’s if you don’t get to do hers during the game before she dies, and maybe if she did that “hugging” thing, she’d speak with Shuichi and encourage similarly to Kaede, reading into his feelings and empathizing his grief and sadness, and telling him that he’s not alone, he has the others to help him grow, and live on for Kaede’s sake, because that is also what Atua thinks as well (subtracting the whole “brainwashing” thing that she was somehow able to do with these hugs - call me crazy but it feels less believable compared to DR3 Despair Arc’s subliminal-brainwashing cop out, which I’ve always had somewhat mixed feelings about but don’t mind it as much tbh haha) and it really helps Shuichi feel a little better. And of course he doesn’t become devout like Angie and eventually the other Student Council members, but Shuichi would thank both her and Atua (more so to be nice maybe lol-) for what she told him, which could’ve been the starting point for her to spread her message even more (not going as nuts as in game). I could go on about somewhat rewriting Angie to make her more likable, but this comment would be WAAAAY too long, haha. But I thank you for providing some more ideas for rewriting her because despite her being so overly and detestingly religious (because I never liked these type of people) I can’t bring myself to hate her - i just love her happy and cheery personality and she’s also a fellow artist :>> It’s also for the same with both Kiyo and Tsumugi because they both have soft spots in my hearts and I also love them to death-
@DrGriff3 жыл бұрын
I’m actually mixed on Angie. During my play-through she was one of my most hated characters and I didn’t care that much that she died. But when I actually did her free time events I got to know her better and by the end I was crushed she died. She was raised to believe her thoughts were a god’s thoughts and no one ever told her no. Ans when Shuici does tell her no, she begins to admire him. And her free time events prove to me that she really was trying to save everyone during chapter 3. It’s such a shame that none of this is really shown, and even Himiko winds up focusing on Tenko’s death more than Angie’s.

I'm used to just accepting the characters as they're given, so your ideas on how to further deepen and flesh them out is very interesting to me. It's making me think a lot about motivation for the characters and motivation for the player and characters around them to care about them. I think your outlook on what you like in a character in Danganronpa may be satisfied in a fangame called Super Danganronpa Another 2. It's a fangame (now translated into English) that I feel gives every single person some meaning for their character, their motivations, and how they change in the killing game. I recommend looking at it if you get interested.

If there's one thing I can say about Kokichi, it's that he actually does somewhat care about the other students and is actively trying to help them in his own way. He actually has their best interests at heart. That's something that I can't say about either Byakuya or Nagito. While you do have to look past the lies in order to see that Kokichi really does care, once you realize what he's been doing all this time, that's when it becomes clear. The Japanese version (from my understanding) even puts extra emphasis on the fact that he's actually against the killing, hence why he's always on Maki's case.
@Tarien0013 жыл бұрын
31:52 I understand your points. My opinion is that I love Tsumugi, unlike others, I see only an ordinary girl in her. People can't say much about her, just that she likes anime. I'd say he doesn't have a personality yet, because she's a teen.Or she tries to pretend to be a teen (her age is unknown) and their personality is still being formed. For those who go to school, no one has a girl like her? Which you don't really know about her and practically she's not much interesting? Now I'm talking about Tsumugi who is a character in a killing game. It's a fictional character written by a real Tsumugi who just plays her. In my opinion, Tsumugi is simply a normal girl who loves one show and can act as one of the highest-ranking characters in it. She is hardworking and a good actor. Yes, the character she played is not significant or amazing either, i think this is a point. Make the figure look flat on the outside.

Especially Makoto may appear somewhat plain and lost without Kyoko and Byakuya, but I feel that especially since it was a very special situation they found themselves in and Makoto being just a regular student that wound up in it thanks to his "luck", it was nice that Makoto wasn't that superbrain that could solve the cases on his own. Rather, he got Kyoko open up to him and they led Byakuya to a change of character since he never liked the idea of friendship during the killing game (up till Sakura sacrificed herself). His optimism eventually led to DR2 despite the consequence that awaited him at the Future Foundation (see the Danganronpa 3 anime for that). So for me personally, Makoto is the best protagonist but not by THAT much compared to the others (excluding UDG, Komaru probably ties with Makoto or is even better, but the game is different so that's why I don't count her in). Also I will never forget 11037 and how he used that number as a code in DR2. 2. The romantic feelings between Kyoko and Makoto are evident, especially when Kyoko blushes while apologizing to Makoto for overreacting when she was mad at him for not telling her the truth about Sakura being Monokuma's spy. This goes further with Kyoko showing her burnt hands to him (which she only does to those she sees as family). It goes on in Danganronpa 3, but I won't type anything spoiler-y about that one since I don't know if you have seen it. The Makyoko ship is real for me. 3. Kokichi is a very good antagonist because he is unpredictable and you can't tell when he is telling the truth or not. But for what he is doing, he got punished a bit too much. I prefer Nagito among the antagonists because not only did he make use of his luck several times during the game, but he also knew something the others didn't (being the Remnants of Despair) and thus trying to get Chiaki out of the game with the Remnants just dying. His case was by far the best in my opinion and the end of it was probably the most shocking in the series. These are just my opinions but I like to see how other people are as passionate about Danganronpa as me, so - if you ever read this - you don't feel offended or anything (at least I tried not to be offensive) - I look forward to more Danganronpa content both from Spike Chumsoft and you. Cheers :)
