Sweet. I will put the Gibson spacing on the other side of mine also.

I had no idea about these tools. Good stuff!
@GuitarGoomba6 жыл бұрын
If you want to do your own setups, you need the right tools. And to use them correctly.

Cool! These are necessary, good, affordable and useful. Nice DIY 🤘
@GuitarGoomba6 жыл бұрын
I try to be relevant. Plus, anytime I can make something useful out of what others consider trash is a win for me.
@MStone-im1mu6 жыл бұрын
Kudos to you! Beats paying high dollar when you can DIY. Enjoying the videos!!!

Thank you. The next home made tools will be a honing block and a fret leveling beam.

I try. The price on the StewMac one is a bit steep. Don't get me wrong, they are nice, just pricey.

I've always just stretched a string between two frets and measured the clearance over the frets in the middle (or lack thereof). Granted the guitar I used that method on the most now has a backbow that makes it look like an actual archery bow... (which is why I no longer do my own adjustments ;))
@GuitarGoomba6 жыл бұрын
LOL. Have you tried adjusting the truss rod?
@garrettodonnell41776 жыл бұрын
Yup... though I eventually realized it was actually a nut issue. Success is built on failure.
@GuitarGoomba6 жыл бұрын
That is so true. You learn more from one failure than from ten successes.

Good info, you certainly got the tools for the job.

My wife likes to say that I have at least one of every tool known to man, and a few known only to God. I'm actually limiting my tool usage on this build to make it more approachable for beginners. How am I doing?
@davidadams95786 жыл бұрын
You doing a good job, I go to Memphis often, always wanted to go to the Gibson Factory and museum to see how it’s done but between time spent eating BBQ and visiting other places, haven’t made it there yet

I lived outside of Nashville for a year and practically lived at Gibson.
