Hi, I just got a wrx, and have been taking a deep dive into it, its a sickness I guess, lol!! Trying to learn as much as I can, I am curious what fuel injectors are you using with this turbo? Also what fuel pump?

Definitely is a sickness haha, I have DW 1200cc injectors and an AEM 345 lph pump. The injectors are perfect for this turbo on gasoline, but on e85 I'm reaching the end of their capabilities, but I should be able to achieve my goal by increasing base fuel pressure

@SWSpeedCo thanks for getting back to me! Wow that big of an injector ? Jesus. I watched the video, that car seems to also ride quite "normal" also? As in you could still take it to the corner store and it drive well? Great job with the parts you are making also!

@robmassicotte4889 thank you!! It is a big injector, and it does drive quite well on the street for the most part. I think that mostly comes down to having a good tune, and I spend lots of time getting everything dialed in.

Went from install straight to driving; was hoping for a deep dive tune with the new mods! Got a cable and ecuFlash and I'm eager to learn how to dial in a tune.

The only tuning I really had to do turbo wise was wastegate tuning but there wasn't much tuning to make a video about so I was going to wait till I go back on e85 to make the turbo tuning video.

@@SWSpeedCo So AFR and timing transferred over pretty seamlessly to the new setup? I think a lot of us know the basic idea of tuning but seeing how you do it step by step for the different tables would be so helpful. At least your last tuning video was very helpful for logging and MAF scaling but now we need to see how to fine-tune each table to "turn up" in a safe and effective way. Looking forward to watching when it drops.

So I had to tune afr at wot at higher load cells that I wasn't reaching with the stock turbo, but that is the same process as the maf scaling video I made. I may have backed the timing off a few degrees just to be safe but my 91 tune is very conservative so I just left it. I'll take a look at the videos I got from tuning and get back to you on weather I can make it islts own video now or upload it later with e85 tuning

@@SWSpeedCo Sounds great! And no rush we can wait NP

I uploaded the 91 turbo tuning video today

That wagon pulls ! It so much easier to swap turbos without the inlet
@SWSpeedCo2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's why I decided to do the fuel system at the same time so everything was out of my way

Just got my legacy hopefully I can figure out the evap code so I can start buying fun parts and not maitnance parts.

Fun parts are definitely better than maintenance parts haha!

That std turbo hot side looks like you was runing very lean its so white...
@SWSpeedCo2 жыл бұрын
It was white before I installed it, must be from the previous car because im definitely not running lean

Which hose did you use for TMIC to turbo?
@SWSpeedCo4 ай бұрын
This is the part number for the hose I used on grimmspeed: GRM090060 Thanks for watching!

u should've coated that turbo before installing it i did it to mine with VHT black coating to repel the heat and it really does a good job avoiding high temperatures , nice video great job , i also like the tomei wrapping video you did i have the same turbo, header and up pipe ,tomei is awesome, i bought the same unequal header and up pipe u have
@SWSpeedCo2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I really like the turbo and header. I have a ptp turbo blanket which works really well for keeping temps down so I didn't see the need to coat it
