I would love to see a united project with the Surfrajettes and Phuong Tam. PT was Vietnam's first female rock singer. She's close to 80 now but I think the combination of generations and music styles and hometown locales would be just an amazing project. The Surfrajettes always do instrumentals, why not give Phuong Tam a chance to sing with a band? She lives in the Bay area and her family her children didn't even know about her past until a couple of years ago when a documentary filmmaker wanted to use some photographs and some recordings. They weren't even aware that people all over the world were collecting artifacts and memorabilia from her fame in Vietnam. I think it would be great.

I think those amps are valve( tube ) set ups. But they have designed the pickups to give a sound they want, I think there are better matched pickups about.

@@highpath4776 You're right, there are a huge number of pickups out there, and note that many of them can fit the SURF sound. But they will need to be selected after the sound and sound amplification system is selected. This, so to speak, will be the final signature of the artist in the picture. I heard that there is a pedal that very subtly shapes the sound of germanium amplification stages. This pedal is a must try. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpC6YmCApq-Lj80 There really is "that sound". He is barely noticeable to young people, but he is "real" and at high amplification in the hall his voice will be heard like a journey (immersion) into the past. SURF does not need high values of overdrive and distortion, and modern singles with good and even average sensitivity on nickel-cobalt magnets of the 2nd and 3rd varieties will fully convey the dynamics of sound production. But the low noise level and dynamism of the lower formant of the string sound will be important for live performances. The girls chose combo amplifiers correctly, they have the right sound, only stands for combo amplifiers are desirable. This will clear the color from the proximity of the floor surface and make the sound deeper, and therefore more old-fashioned.
