People at times don't realize the kind of sacrifices doctors make to reach somewhere. They look at doctors and think of a high paying job. My father is a surgeon; I've witnessed the amount of hard work, passion and time he has put into his profession - that too, to make other people's life better. Some days he comes home and just lies down on the couch, doesn't even walk to his bedroom because he's so exhausted from standing and doing hour (most times even 3-4 hrs) long operations. There are days I still find him up early studying surgery or some medical journal. During the COVID-19 pandemic, his spirits never faltered, not even for a second. I've never seen someone so devoted to their work. Doctors deserve every ounce of respect one could possibly give.

The indian doctor you see here is none other the most well known cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty!! He's the CEO and founder of Narayana group of hospitals, a chain of 27 top class hospitals and over 110 clinics in india. And through his methods he has lowered valve replacement surgery costs for pediatric patients to as low as 2000-3000 US $. And let me remind you with that amount you can't even get a good refill of your prescription drugs in the US. So glad to see Netflix creating a documentary on the people that actually made a significant change into the lives of thousands of people

This is an excellent documentary featuring 4 doctors with a BBC production quality standard - need to say no more. The 4 docs shown are the best of the best of the best of the best, not only in what they do but the lives they live. I have to say that the first surgeon who operates babies inside the mother´s belly and the third surgeon - a woman - who I think invented the method of cutting the liver of a live donor (liver regenerates itself) and transplanting that 2/3 of the liver into the recipient - are the most breathtaking to me. The second story of the illegal immigrant who became one of the best brain surgeons in the country is also amazing, and the fourth story is incredible. Netflix keeps on coming with these high-quality documentaries, and I am getting addicted!!!

Netflix should bring a 2nd season of this marvelous documentary series. In one of the episodes, they can feature urologist Professor Dr. Kamrul Islam, who has done more than 1,000 kidney transplants without any cost.
