The Surprising Finds at Salt Lake's Record Stores!

The family and I went on a trip to Salt Lake Utah and I checked out a record store in the area. While Gus was at work I went hunting for records with the family and I was able to find one near their famous Liberty Park, called Randy's Record Shop. It was small but a lot of interesting albums to look through, lots of known artist, new and used records. I was able to find a few I have been looking for. Oh and I came across a car show in the park. I gotta admit I love classic cars and low riders. lol. On our drive home we stopped by Zion national park and was able to get some shots of it. It was so nice getting home and spending time with my new records.

Thanks for showing us SLC. I haven’t been there in a very long time and the funny thing is my cousin was likely working that same car show. He’s an artist that does paintings of peoples classic cars. He hits all the car shows in Utah and Colorado. The prices were way too steep for new records. $30 or more just seems to be more of the norm😢

Hey, Monie! I find the price of records pretty high, too! I try to keep a limit on what I spend. Your children seem well behaved in the shop, and I know that timing is critical when it comes to shopping with young children...so much so for me when my kids were as young as yours, I became the fastest flipper through record stacks in the West( quite debatable, of course!) Now my oldest son is at that age where we could split up in Barnes and Noble (I can shop in peace!), and we can meet up😅 afterwards. It happens for every parent, eventually 😀👍. Great video as always.

So glad to hear Im not the only one who is picky on prices when it comes to records. I love getting a good deal. I am so thankful the little ones where good on my trip to a record store, I know its not fun for them. Glad to hear that one day the kids will go off to their favorite parts of the store without me lol

Aloha Monica Cool that you found some Record Albums. I never heard of these bands that you bought, but then again that's why I watch channels like yours, so I can learn of Record Albums I never heard of or not into. Still learning about new bands even at 67. Cool French Press, do you grind your own coffee beans also?

Salt Lake City looked nice. So many years since I was in the US. And they have trams! I’m in part an Oslo boy and we love our trams. Love my tiny Danish hometown too, but miss record stores, just riding around in public transport and drinking buckets of overprized coffees and sit and watch people walk by. Must be great to have Vampire Weekend on vinyl. Have you heard a band called Fools Gold. American Jewish band from the west coast who plays music inspired by west/central Africa. Their first album was sung all in hebrew but they switched to English later. Just stumbled across them at a Norwegian music festival. Great if you like Vampire Weekend I’d say, even if both the bands and their musical influences have switched coastal and contintal sides 😊

Probably gotta travel to London huh I was surprised to find a record store and cool little shops in Utah, they have a whole area that looks like Portland. @@MonieMuse I didn’t write their whole name, Fools Gold! Actually just posted a video from my trip to the nearest record shop now. Was such a lovely day so I went to the bigger town just south of here and did some shopping, got a burger and an expensive coffee 😊 As well as a big vinyl haul! I’d love to go back to Portland, I actually know people there now. I’m just not a good flying type person. Enjoying your channel very much 😊

@@MonieMuse i just went to a shop in downtown charleston where i am working these days and i thought they were vinyl only place but they did have used CDs but the prices were crazy. used CDs started at $8.99. I ended up just picking up a 3-LP live record by the Replacements I wanted.

How far were you from where the Jazz play and how far are you from the Ski slopes? Utah is a city most similiar to Portland Oregon!! sweet looking car that Blue one , did any of those cars have 8 track players in them? I see a Pink hat wheres the Dodgers or Angels? is that Black car a 1924 ? did you say Irene wine? Vampire Weekends do any of those albums have any hits on them?

Ohhh I should have looked to see if the cars had any 8 tracks, that would have been cool to see and maybe the owner had some tapes with me. NEXT TIME for sure!! Oh We were in Salt Lake so Im not sure about the Ski Slops, the mountains were beautiful though and had snow.
