The family and I went on a family trip this summer in Monetary. I was able to find a small vintage record store. I was so excited to see the store was full of old records at decent prices. I share what I picked up from the store.

Great to get a new video Monie. Good prices on those finds. Yeah, the 70's was a mixed bag of sorts. Some of the big stars of the 60's could not adjust to the changing music scene and lost their way.

Yes the music changed so much in the 70s, and it makes sense that affected the artist and their life style.

Hi Monie! That was a wonderful trip you took with your family! Monterey is beautiful! I love digging for records on road trips too! Thrift stores are my favorite on the road. Some of my most prized records were acquired at small town thrift stores. One of those stores was a tiny bodega (market) in a little nowhere town in Colorado. They had 2 crates of records on the floor in the middle of the market . I found the rarest record in my collection in one of those crates! So cute to see your family enjoying record collecting together. Bye for now. Steve

thank u for watching some of my episodes! We had so much fun on this trip, my husband and i would go out record shopping all the time when we were dating, and now having three little ones it hard, but taking turns for now gives us time to find some treasures haha team work! :)

I learned that you can find good vinyl records at places you least expected. Especially those that might be on your wishlist at cheaper prices. I know for sure I did.

I think that Righteous Bros album was on Moonglow which was before their big hits. I graduated high school in '72 so I can testify the 70's were definitely a time people went crazy. I was trying to remain sane but with roommates who were growing pot in the closets, having relations with underage girls, and having partying neighbors (I turned off the electric to their apartment!) it was difficult. In '79 I met my wife and started a new job, new school, new area.

The 70s always seemed so long ago but really not that far away as movies made it out to be. my parents were young adults too, And they were crazy lol in the 80s they started going to church, the 70s life style wasn’t good for a growing family. Good you were able to stay out of trouble. The 80s was indeed a new era . I love that music is able to unlock history and becomes a way to get insight on a generation

Hi Monie 🌞 - Monterey is amazing .. so beautiful & such refreshing air. Definitely a fan of Marianne Faithful & her deep voice. She did a great album in 2004 Before The Poison that PJ Harvey , Damon ( Gorillaz & Blur ) & Nick Cave wrote songs for her. She's a tough cookie. Keep Smiling 😃

Seems like a great place. I was wondering price of some of the Hendrix material. I do remember that cinderella record from my childhood. Faithful has a very interesting voice

I think the Hendrix albums were around $20, I also don’t know how rare they were either. I think next time I gotta get at least one Hendrix album in my collection.

How's Northern California doing? when you think of Monterey you think of Eastwood? I see Cd's ? nice 5th Dimension , Righteous Brothers , any hits on that 5th Dimension album? never heard of the sea? Did I hear you say Lana USED for 20 . 00 bucks? I heard of Marianne Faithful , So i've been at my condo's pool , gone out for ice cream , went to Atlantic City for the national sports cards and collectables.
