my guess would be, the toddler was left alone (abandonned or parents died or whatever) and that in that time in the past, no one would have taken one more person to feed. Or it was sick and his only way to survive was getting transformed... Some shit like that, and some vampires fell for that and do the mistake, surely especially women who aspired to be mothers and can't anymore.. or were mother but watched their childs still human die of old age... or some shit like that. Like, depending on how it's narrated, i could see some valids reasons.. or simply... they didn't know they would be stuck in a fcking toddler state for eternity, and maybe just keep the shape, but still mature with the years. But yeah, once you know why it shouldn't be done... it become obvious... IT SHOULDN'T BE DONE.

did we read/watch the same story because it was about more than just a love story. the first part of Twilight was about Edward's attraction to Bella because he couldn't read her thoughts. the second part of twilight was about James being drawn to Bella because of his gift. it's like a game to him and the Cullen's killed him to save a human life. New Moon dove deeper into the love story i will admit but it was more about the introduction of the Volturi Coven and Victoria finding out James was killed/ her path for vengeance. Eclipse was about Victoria creating an army of vampires to kill Bella and the cullen's settling their differences with the wolves to protect Bella and it showed more about what the Volturi Coven was created for. Breaking Dawn was definitely more love story driven in the beginning like New Moon but it still wasn't "only" about their love story, it was more about Bella getting pregnant, no one in the vampire world thought it could happen and Bella's transformation into a vampire. If you don't like the saga, that's completely fine but don't use something that isn't true to justify your hate.
