Green Ham Gaming hello green ham gaming. First i just want to say i love your vids. Watched all of them and was very entertained. but i would like to ask you a question if you have the time. I've been looking around about my optiplex 380 mt case to see if it can fit a dual slot gpu and haven't really found anything. I would really like to know because i want to get a gtx 750 ti and the dual slot version is like $100. But the single slot is like $200. I thought that you might know something about that.
@GreenHamGaming9 жыл бұрын
raven still Well, from what I know- the 380 MT has the same layout as the 745 MT. This means Single slot GPU's are your only option if you want to go all legit. though you do have two other options. 1. Some Dual slot cards don't actually have any I/O in the second slot. e.g the EVGA GTX 750. This means if you remove the bracket and have some skills with a screwdriver- that you can use one of these GPUS and just use cable ties to hold it in place, though this would instantly void your warranty and I don't recommend it unless you know what you are doing. 2. Get a PCI-E Extender, they exist and i've seen them around on the internet. www.amazon.com/PCI-E-Express-Extender-Flexible-Extension/dp/B008BZBFTG They look like that ^ You can then use the card but mounting will be another problem. Let me know how it goes. Hope that helped.

This is so crazy..... the video cards that i have are in order of what you have. I had a 8800gt, replaced that with a hd 5770 when the 8800gt fried.... upgraded to a gtx 750 ti.... now i recently upgraded to a gtx 970. I have the same backup cards that you frequently use on your older pc's lol..
@Greyghostvol19 жыл бұрын
8800gt>hd 4000 series (can't remember which, was lower mid range though>gtx 460 sli till once card got fried>gtx 670>r9 290 currently. I'll probably end up picking up another 290 and crossfire it in the next few weeks, as the 290 is just barely starting to finally get long in the tooth after having it for two years, and AMD seems to finally start caring about driver updates. Plus, they're quite cheap to find used after that giant bitcoin phase a couple years ago had people snatching them up left and right. Either that or save some money and pick up a R9 fury or gtx 980 ti (depends on how much I'm willing to save).

I just recently bought a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R with a Core 2 Quad Q9450 and 8 GB of DDR2 RAM. One thing about this motherboard is that it can take both DDR2 and DDR3 so I have two sticks of 4 GB DDR3 clocked at 1333 Mhz. I just bought a Radeon R7 250X so that I have more room in the case. Will be turning this system into a Windows XP/Windows Vista [7] build. I payed 45 US Dollars for the motherboard with the processor and I paid 30 US Dollars for the AMD Radeon R7 250X.

@thedebug38669 жыл бұрын
+John Smith It's what's called a "Riser" card. Computer companies have been doing that for the longest time, I think they've stopped now. Packard bell and compaq used to be big on that.

VintagePC's alike Hehe, I guess they thought just being able to put the card in the motherboard slot was too simple.
@thedebug38669 жыл бұрын
It's most likely due to the formfactor of the PC, even though compaq and packard bell did the same thing in their normal size PC's, the formfactor is probably to blame for something like that.

You managed to fit it in without removing the plastic shroud? Just to confirm, this card ACTUALLY runs at x16 right? 381silent It's super low. The PSU isn't the issue! If the framerates go from good to terrible and then stay that way, Heat might be an issue as the card underclocks itself. @michelemarrazzo41679 жыл бұрын
I still have a q6600@3,33ghz with 8gb ddr2. I'm using it for basic videoediting, photoshop, lightroom, and gaming with an old hd6770 1gb gddr5 occked as much as it can. But with modern games I've not good performance as I'd like to have. With gtaV I'm cpu limited, and I have 30fps not much stable (sometimes 40+, sometimes 25). Similar with far cry 4, or watchdogs, but I'm gpu limited in these cases. With the other task I've not problem at all. According you, it's reasonable to buy a powerful gpu, as r9 270, or gtx960? For now I want to wait for dx12, they should lower cpu load, but what do you think about changing GPU on my rig? Thank you, I love your music and videos of course
@z609-subscribe49 жыл бұрын
