Liked that wee trick with the eye brush will surely use that one, always encouraging to take a cast when you see the fry driven up on to the beach like that too. Thanks for sharing.

Great videos. Cheerful with good humour. Would love the name of the track playing in the intro if you get the chance.

I tend to use the darker feathers from the teal when i'm tying this one. Good medicine for sea trout after midnight in June.

Thank you for this tip. Will try it myself. I was given this pattern by my old mentor and friend Edwin Dixon on my first ever visit to Ireland in 1979. We used it to do night fishing for sea trout in the Eany River, Co. Donegal. I'm tying it this way ever since.

Very nicely done video! Although, as mentioned, the teal feathers could be marked better (narrow black-white bars) on this pattern. Nevertheless, this video made me anticipate my upcoming trip to england and ireland end of august this year :)

Thank you, Ryan. End of August should be a good time. Tight Lines.

Hi Dietrich - which estuary is this exactly?

Hi Mark, that is one of the best kept secrets in Donegal.

What kind of thread are you using? it looks extremely thick for fly tying!

Just ordinary black twine.

@@DietrichBohnhorst Exactly! I've been tying for forty-odd years and my methods are pretty refined compared to yours. But I love your no-nonsense approach. Wish I could tie like you! Maybe if I had access to fishing like yours I would. Who wants to be faffing on when there's all them fish out there?

@@callumclark3358 Thank you, Callum. My tying is sort of pragmatic, like, not to impress, but to be fished. All the best and take care.
