A day and a night at The Tent. Checking the deer stands. Taking a look at Dad's wrecked 4wheeler. Getting the firewood loaded onto the front porch. Tent cooking.

@@SuperSlappy25 In this last video you may have caught him taking butter out of a jar for his potato (aka "canned"). Joe did a video on it awhile back. He took several pounds of store bought butter & boiled it down. A process that in the end, can be put in jars & is shelf stable for a few years (depending on where/how it's stored). It's great for the tent (we know how he loves his butter in his veg & potatoes)!!

Joe: I sure wish we would have started a journal like yours when we built our camp in 1989. My buddy has a camp started by his dad and several other friends shortly after WWII in the north woods of Pennsylvania. Whenever we would go up there as young men I would always entertain myself over several nights by reading their journals. Some of the entries were very colorful. Lists of the guys who made it to camp for trout season, grouse hunting, turkey, bear and deer. New hunters, old hunters, card game winners and losers, special recipes, great meals, good booze and bad booze. Dirty ice and hangovers. Getting lost in the flats on top of the mountain. Special places to hunt and deer stands that always produced the biggest buck. Who caught how many fish, who bagged the big buck and won the buck pool or who got skunked. Almost all of the entries in their journals ended with: “And a good time was had by all.” However, some of the entries were kind of sad. Over the years some of the guys moved away, and jobs or distance kept them from coming back to camp. And, as the years caught up the the original members of the camp, some just couldn’t make it into camp due to poor health or an inability to travel. The saddest entries were those about the guys who had passed away over the past year. Journal entries reminisced about what a great guy Joe was, or how hard a hunter Stosh or Paul had been. Finally, the last original member died and his family memorialized him and his hunting exploits in the journal. Fortunately the descendants of the first guys in camp have kept up the tradition of hunting and fishing camp. The building is on state forest land and the 99 year lease runs out in 2046. The cabin roof has been repaired many times, replaced at least two that I know of. The porcupines have chewed away the porch posts and the old wood shiplap outhouse has been reborn with heat and a light in it. In the next 26 years I only hope the new guys have as many good times as in the old days and that “a good time is always had by all...!” Cheers! Whipple

@Brisdad53 sure. Has nothing to do with them being from the city and not having much experience and just make a bad decision. They must be degenerates and hooligans that intentionally almost kill themselves so they can damage peoples property. The word accident should be stricken from all books, its intentional carelessness! Everybody seem to be a bunch of judgemental jackwagons, mistakes were made, but to assume that people aren't going take responsibility for their mistakes tells me more about you then them.
