Just had THR on my left hip. Severe Osteoarthritis and Degenerative Joint Disease. Haven't walked unaided for 10 years. The surgery was no walk in the park. Had tuns of osteophytes along with all the degeneration. What was to be a 2 hour surgery turned into 3. After all was said and done I am sooo happy I went through it. Due for right THR in December. I wish your Dad all the success and speedy recovery. Will be 🙏ing for him your Mom and all of y'all. Love hugs and kisses to ya'll.

Joe, I had a hip replacement eleven years ago and I can't say enough good things about the outcome. I was in the hospital for a whole week and I fell in love with the nurses. One nurse even asked me out on a date and we still hook-up once in a while. Nowadays the hospital stay is much shorter than it was when I had my surgery. Tell your dad I said good luck and not to worry. Oh well, thanks for the motion picture you celebrity you!! Your best pal DB COOPER!!!

For some reasons, these video's always give me different flashbacks of my childhood. I saw Joe using the vacuum cleaner. Suddenly I remembered on our own small farm as a kid, we didn't have one. We had the brooms and a dust pan. But what flashed before me was the fact that Joe does a lot to prepare for his kids to arrive. Washing that sleeping bag. My grandpa used to come out on the weekends and stay with us. We'd go through the woods or walks. We'd pick up wood along the way so we could carry some back. About 20 feet from the house we had a small area for a small fire. We used bricks to form a small C type shape about 2 feet high. He and I would put some kindling in there and then some logs. We'd roast hot dogs which went straight onto a bun. Nothing fancy but pretty tasty. God I loved that guy. He slept in a single bed on a side room off the kitchen. He had a green Coleman sleeping bag with red checked print on the inside. That was an old bed. If you took off the single mattress the frame had holes in it and it had like a rope that was threaded through back and forth to hold up the mattress. We'd put the mattress down and a fitted sheet but he loved his sleeping bag. When I knew he would be coming I used to take that sleeping bag out and put it out on the clothes line to air out so it always smell fresh. This was in the 1970's and I was about 10 yrs old Sometimes I'd throw it in our wringer washer and then dry it. But I recall always making a point to let him know that "I aired out your sleeping bag grandpa". Later as I grew older I could cringe but I knew he appreciated it. It made me feel good. Seeing Joe clean and do that sleeping bag for Sara brought back that memory. It's a good quality in people when they go the extra mile, even though it's family. Not many do that today! He never hunted deer. He was a rabbit and squirrel man. Many times he told me that back in the 1930's, a squirrel or rabbit was dinner when a lot of people didn't even have that. Two squirrels wasn't a lot of meat but he'd clean them and my grandma made squirrel pot pie. Thanks for the upload. It reminded me of his sleeping bag which i had totally forgotten about.

is it just me, but I believe during deer hunting, we must see our breath, have a tad of snow on the ground , and hunt in Northern Minnesota to experience "deafening" silence ?? pure heaven

True, but I hunt in Georgia, and last weekend at the camp it was 81. But I do prefer the cool days, feels like deer will step out anytime

The deafening sound is very nice. I get to experience it where i hunt near cotton on a snowy day. Where i hunt with my family theres a train right across the border about 2 miles away constantly blaring the horn. It is nice because if youre hoofin you know which way is north.
@tomr.63114 жыл бұрын
@@mikbeauregard8493 Wow! I thought I’d never hear someone mention Cotton, Minnesota ! I hunted near there and Shaw, population “2” then. That was in 1965, 66, 67. Had cans of Dinty Moore stew over a fire ! My first experience at deer hunting, and cemented my love of the woods ever since. Hunted in tree stands made from fallen limbs and branches of pine trees. great memories and looking forward to my 48th year in the woods this year more than ever !

Its Its always a pleasure seeing you spend time with your dad and the many memories you have of them. I lost my dad 3 years ago and wish he was still around to go out to his place to go fishing with him on Lake Erie for the big walleye were always exciting to catch and if the lake was to bad to go fishing then we would fish on his 2 acre pond instead. Hope you all can get your deer this year. You should have plenty of vegetables to get through the winter months with what your taking home from the tent.

Thawing the steak on the dash! At least I'm not the only one who does that HAHA! I find these solo cabin vids so relaxing for some reason.
