This is one of the best videos ever. I love seeing able men doing things well. My dad was good, but you guys are great. I remember Zach when he was around 14? You're a great dad, Joe, and you taught him well. He's grown into an exemplary man. Nature, in all her glory, showing you the way. Poor Chester just wants to be *with*, included in whatever you're doing. He's a great dog, friend, and companion. Your dad's 'little project' turned out great! Thanks for all the years of wonderful glimpses into an alternate reality. So different from my own.

How wonderful you get to go away solo for just a few days to check up on the cabin and tent. Lots of work to keep up your far away setting. I do not know what keeps me coming back to the videos I so love to watch. I miss hunting, fishing where it's totally secluded. Awesome you have the talent and professional sense to do this. I hope someday to afford some land and build an off-grid lifestyle. I have friends in MI. Maybe, I hope my partner and I can visit see how you build both your parents and your tent. Just to get ideas!! God bless you all!

Fishing, hunting and the appreciation of the wilderness, and respecting nature is really nice to see especially having a good relationship with your family. Everyone has problems in their lives, but the bond you have with your nearest and dearest is a joy to watch (especially in the UK with miserable snow, cold winds and the fishing season about to close) many thanks for the U.K.

The sound in the early evening (frogs?), oh wow, so relaxing. The ONLY thing to interrupt that is the whiz of 10lb test flying off a reel and plop, bloop of the bobber hitting the water. Excellent video. I've been binge watching them lately and can't get enough. Kudo from Peterborough, Ontario, Canada (south and very EAST of the TENT!) Lots of good fishing in the Kawarthas, need to get out more this year.

I find it so interesting the procedures you have to go through there to secure your property from the elements. We have a weekend place on the north Florida gulf coast and have completely separate issues to worry about. For instance, we would not want to leave our canned goods down too long because they will rust and spill out. The thought of them freezing and splitting just blows my mind. I can't fathom the kind of cold y'all must have there. Or how you have wolves roaming around your back door where down here it's black bears that drive us nuts to the point we have to have bear proof garbage containers. This country is soooo vast and covers so many different climates that it's just really neat to see how other outdoorsmen handle the various situations thrown at them. But at the end of the day we are all just that, lovers of the great outdoors, whatever our particular slice of paradise may be. Love the videos!
@JoeandZachSurvival7 жыл бұрын
Thank you. When I am in Louisiana with Melissa it is totally different like you said, so much humidity to deal with. up here it is -30 winters. The outdoors is beautiful though wherever you can get out in it.
@edp22607 жыл бұрын
Out here in the west in my 'off grid/on grid' cabin (ie I have power like you, but it is rustic) we have a different situation. Heavy rain in the winter, then NO rain for 5-6 months. Can't have a campfire in the summer. Everything's dry as a martini. 12 BIG fires in the area in the last 2 years.

Thank you for the nice comment John. I am like you, if the video is long I know I will be skipping through it. People seem to like the longer videos on The Tent so I try to keep the video long and the clips short. If I get bored editing it I know others will get bored watching. Thanks again.

Great video!!!! I just may have to take a trip to camp this upcoming weekend since it is mine and my wife's 38th wedding anniversary. Of course our camp as you know Joe is a deer hunting camp, but it is only a 5 minute drive from camp to Sherwood Lake. We need to do some things to camp, clean up around it and work on a porch we are starting. Really enjoy watching you and Zach out there fishing and love that pontoon boat!!! Like to know more about it. Those are some nice fish you guys caught. That is a nice bass you guys caught and looks like you guys were really having some fun. It is just so peaceful looking up there!! Looks like a lot of work filleting those fish!! Never had pike before. I figured you would of used that big frying pan you hung on the porch of the tent Joe!! Man those fish look tasty!! I always hate to hear that your getting ready to head home, that means I have to wait for another episode of The Tent!! Thanks for sharing your trips to the tent Joe.

Thanks Joe and Zach for sharing your father, son trip. I enjoy watching your video Joe. They are very educational. I was thinking, when you were using the four wheeler, why doesn't he use his truck, then you did. Haha! Shouldn't leave the diesel at home Joe! Just kidding with you. When you cook on the campfire, what wood do you use? I know you have apple wood but wasn't sure if you were using it. Take care Joe, Zach, Pop, George and the rest of the family!

I have to say watching this episode brought many memories of my father and I doing stuff in the backyard messing with trees and cars and such. I found myself reliving my youth and wishing my kids had done stuff like that. Maybe when they get older. But they are to much into gaming and staying inside. I guess times have changed. I will admit that ever since I have joined Joe's channels I have been making up more excuses for my family to ne outside more. My dad passed in 2012 and I have seen myself change (for the better). Next stop is a camping trailer and some road trips are in our near future. Thanks Joe and Zack for being your selves and sharing it with community. We need more real people in this world like you all. Keep up the awesome work! Love the channels!!!

Thank you for the nice comment, The whole gaming thing has changed everything, kids stay inside, the outdoors ends up being a chore. I am not a gamer, Zach is not a gamer, some of my kids are and you can see the difference. I am glad you are taking the initiative to get them out on some future road trips, they will remember them and cherish them forever and maybe...... just maybe.... they will do the same with there little ones and the traditions will continue. Thank you again. Joe
