Chunky is such a beast. He plays so optimally. Honestly impressed he did as well as he did. Falco is such a terrible matchup for DK.

Commentators saying tildes camping but he was the one starting almost every interaction as well. Chunky sat at center stage almost the entire set and hardly ever approached. Id be shooting lasers too if they're gonna try to force me to be the one to approach 90% of the set.

Indeed. Those are 2 characters with insane advantage state and poor disadvantage, it's optimal for both of them to stay in neutral for a while, waiting for the safest opening. Falco has a projectile, it would be stupid to not use it.

Exactly. People always accuse the person with the projectile of camping but chunky literally doesn't fight you until you give him an opening or reversal. If I ever played him I'd go for the timeout

Well no shit Sherlock, astounding that the character without the projectile doesn’t want to engage the faster character that also has a projectile. You’re a real savant aren’t ya? Chunky plays how DK needs to be played, Tilde camps in pretty much every matchup these days, he no longer is a rush down type of player. He just needs to stop going to tournaments and retire, he’s boring to watch and never gonna win a major again 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@TheMedicinalMan was the agressive tone necessary ? If DK makes the choice of staying in neutral, why would Falco commit, and take systematically the huge risk of getting wrecked by a grab, combo or kill confirm ? And while he was using his projectile often, Tilde also tried a lot to approach in this game.

My apologies, but do most melee players enjoy Ultimate very much? The last Smash game I tried was Brawl(a long time ago) and I didn't like the feel of it. Is Ultimate pretty similiar?

it's just a very different game. Better than brawl and smash4, but definitely nothing like melee either. Play Rivals of Aether 2 though :)

I absolutely love it as a Melee player. It has WAY more viable characters, and they got rid of that cheap Melee ledge trump that I used to hate. I wish the online netcode was better, and I wish the buffer system wasn't so intense, but I srsly love this game. Also they made my girl Samus sooooo much better than Melee. The only thing I don't like about this game is Steve.

I could never get past ultimates feeling of having that split second of input lag. It feels like inputs aren't registered as immediately as even brawl and smash 4 though I still like the game.

Ultimate is nothing like brawl, which was designed to not be a competitive game. Ultimate has a buffer system, unlike melee, so it certainly feels different, and doesn't have the same level of tech depth as melee. But the cast of viable characters is enormous, and even bottom tier characters aren't trash.

Mechanic idea: Damage/push* to shields should vary on depending on the size difference between characters. Dk would do a LOT of damage/push to pichu's shield. The effect is as it is in the game if both characters weigh the same. *edit: idea added from the comments

I like this idea, but I think it should affect shield push and not affect damage to shield. I feel there is not enough shield push in the game.

To be honest, Chunky was camping as well. DK just doesn't have a projectile to make the best use of camping 😅furthermore, with the insane advantage state (and poor disadvantage) of those two characters, you have to be sure about your approach when you commit... in this case it's optimal to stay a while in neutral.

He started pretty much every interaction, chunky relys on people going in then monkey mishimaing them. If he's just going to sit in the corner or center stage and blow you up if you ever overextend or miss your advantage once why would you not camp.

@@JohnSmith-gi2oy tier lists are inherently subjective, and even then I see absolutely no one at high or top level place Falco top tier. DK bottom 10 used to be common but it's not so anymore.

I really like watching chunkykong play, but I think this is the most boring game I've ever watched. Falco is so boring. Like I've enjoyed watching dabuz play min min more.
