I had to reupload because Manic Street Preacher's compared Slowdive to that Austrian painter on that beautiful review in the intro so the whole video got flagged. Sorry to anyone who's seen it already.

My favorite stuff from Slowdive has been their recent stuff, and Slomo is in my opinion one of the best songs ever created and easily their most impactful for me.

“saved their career” is crazy as if they were some forgotten band before tik tok 😅 silly take
@krysiss4 ай бұрын
okay i exaggerated a little bit but its not like they were some massive band

i don’t think the band would’ve kept going for longer without the help of the song going viral. The definition of “saving their career” differs from person to person but i think the extension of their band’s lifetime is save

Slowdive were smart to end in 95 & move on quickly with Mojave 3. Grunge exploded in N. America in the fall of 1991 & hit the UK in the spring of 1992. After releasing Souvlaki in 1993 "Britpop" was around the corner. They were already working on Mojave 3 as a side project while working on Slowdive's pygmalion which is why less than a year Mojave 3 first album came out featuring an "Indie Rock" sound that was gaining popularity in N. America by 1996. In 1992 Slowdive opened for Ride in my city, in 1996 Mojave 3 opened for Lush.

I love that it happened organically, i hope they enjoy their well deserved success! An interesting genre to check out is Dangdut, (it had its roots in a kind of PsyOp)

Great video again. I would a video on my other 90s obsession, Madchester. I know you covered The Stone Roses but I’d love one on Inspiral Carpets. Thanks for all the vids.

Cocteau Twins I consider pretty shoegazy. Their album Treasure is one of my top 100 or so albums 👍
