I'd have loved it Had Ash kept One pokemon per region with him instead of starting over as well. In the anime specifically, electrical energy is vital to the Pichu line's health and overloads/underloads affect their physical health beyond electric attacks. In the line of Zekrom blowing Pikachu's electric circuits, Snivy should get as much credit for this win as Sasuke does for packing up Orochimaru when he was on his deathbed and down two limbs... Now, the league battle in this season (you know the one) is _actually_ the worst fight in the entire narrative and that cannot be defended against, but we don't (want to) talk about that. Also the anime doesn't follow game conventions like levels (aside from that one time in season one, but the first two seasons were essentially the writers on drugs/making up everything off of the top of their heads), but i think everyone knows that at this point. Edit: The Leon vs. Diantha fight might actually be worse than the one that I mentioned, but you can't even make a KZbin short of that fight because there wouldn't be enough footage.

My headcanon, the Zekrom basically debuffed Pikachu so that Pikachu can rebuild its entire strength. This was done because Pikachu reached his full potential but it could grow even further. That's why he reset Pikachu's level so that he could grow stronger than he was in Sinnoh. It's like you've played Fire Red once and now you're replaying the game with cheats and experience from the start. And maybe this was the reason Pikachu had that yellow aura in Pokemon JN. Nah, I'm tripping.😂😂😂😂 Pikachu should have speed blitzed that green snake. Like a quick attack and Snivy should have died. I don't give a rata** about how he was held back. This rat defeated Regice, Latios, etc. That Snivy should have died. Trip was nothing like Paul. There were better ways to make this work. Like say that as soon as Ash sees that Pikachu is suffering from some condition, he immediately stops the battle and takes his Pikachu to the lab. This makes Trip think that Ash is a scaredy cat while Ash doesn't care what Trip thinks as he cares about his pokemon more. That's it. You wrote both characters without making them ooc.
