This is shaping up to be great. Adam as the co-founder who's really into the game and the code. He thinks getting rich hasn't changed him, but in fact it's just enabled all his personality quirks to turn up to 11. Rowan as the co-founder who's the artist and visionary. He will go along with whatever, because yes, he's just loving life. He feels getting rich has liberated him to become his best self. Alan as the guy who probably hates that he has to deal with founders like Rowan and Adam, but as long as he keeps making more f-ing money, it's fine. The second they stop though, it's over. Abby as the bright-eyed kid who grew up with these games, and is in her first Real Job. So much room for each character to grow from here.

If you're an indie dev and want to make an outstanding game, don't listen to feedback from gamers. You'll end up with a game that covers the lowest common denominator and won't ever become great. Instead become a gamer yourself and make the game YOU would want to play. You will take a risk, but without risk there is no great success story.

I’d have been thrilled if I could’ve bought my mount. one of the reasons I quit playing Warcraft was I spent over a decade farming a mount from a holiday that would not drop for me ever. And if I complained in trade chat swarms of trolls would fly it around my head in a circle and laugh at me. I want a mount in Star Trek online no problem it’s 30 bucks.

The DEV series has so much potential! With a bit of fine-tuning, thoughtful writing, and that signature Viva La Dirt League humor, it could truly become an outstanding series. The possibilities are endless! They could even mix in skits and episodes tied to an upcoming game, building anticipation over a couple of years. Not only would it likely become a massive hit, but the team could also gather invaluable feedback from the community throughout the process. The future for this series is incredibly exciting!

ok, so when do we get a devs meeting with a behind the scenes on why the NPCs are self aware? Do the devs know about it and put it in there on purpose, or was it accidental and they don't know what caused it? Or are some devs trolling the others with their amazing AI? I feel like Rowan's character is the kind of guy who would accidentally code a self aware NPC in completely out of the blue, and might not even realize he did it.

Mr. Dalvin appears to suffer form amnesia. He did add (approve) a machine gun firing magic bullets that never run out and totally mow down orcs, likely totally... in a good way. There was an update where a fix removed the possibility to add the gun permanently to player's inventory. In that regard, it's very safe to say: big guns are very established, a true lore element of the game... Yet he fails to remember, perhaps he does need a break.
@maxpower3990Ай бұрын
That wasn’t a gun, that was several wizard staffs strapped together.

@@maxpower3990 the quest itself was called 'minigun madness', and the weapon is ref.'d as 'minigun' verbatim (that cannot leave the area).

To be fair he says "no guns in Azerim". Maybe the quest is based in another nation or planet or something. Also we don't know when this sketch is set, it may have happened before the minigun mission.
@calronkeltaran493Ай бұрын
"no guns in azerim" is plural. this means, one gun is ok
@stanimir4197Ай бұрын
@@IamGrimalkin it's absolutely, most definitely in Azerim - as much as Greg is. He is featured in the original quest and then in update (where he also loses his 'wife' and newborn). So the location is settled. The timeline - I did consider it quite extensively prior writing this - up to the point to finding a date on the board. Few giveaways. -- Abby talks about playing the game as "kids" along with her brother . There has to be enough years passed, esp for her to refer to herself as a kid. -- The badge design strap (the one around the neck) is 2023 (if produced by the same "Candy Land" company) -- Diversity quota, and the "woke" use as pejorative would imply 2023 as well (even though 9% feels on the low side, so it might be bit earlier?) -- I can't recognize the Mac model at 0:41 -- The phone at 0:02 is 2022+ -- Dragons of Shmargonrog singing at the start, however, feels like anachronism as the same theme song is featured in one of the expansions/massive skips earlier episodes.

The toxic player community in MMOs these days is one of the main reasons I no longer play any of them. I played pre-CU Star Wars Galaxies, EverQuest 2 up to the desert expansion, WoW from vanilla through Battle for Azeroth, and Star Wars: The Old Republic from stress test beta until the forced server merge, so I think I have a pretty good feel for how the community has changed. The mmo player communities are a totally different kind of animal compared to the communities of the 2000’s. Honestly, I blame platforms like Facebook and Twitter; the toxicity of social media has bled into gaming and even real life too. Truly unfortunate.
