Just to be very pedanntic: Blizzard was not known to do this kind of business. After all, Blizzard was one of the companies that got bought. Activision came on in, bought the company, so then owned the game, added micro transactions and got review bombed. :) I miss my old Blizzard. All hail our saviour Microsoft! Kind of. I couldn't imagine creative ape having stardew valley for sale because he says he has enough money and it's a passion project he won't put down. They'll do this for anything that can be purchased. Thankfully, for now, they haven't found a easily repeatable successful way to just take the game away from people. Even Minecraft's sale for Microsoft was a surprise to the people at still at Mojang because it was a betrayal of trust from Markus who was done with it after community backlash got stupid on changes to TOS type stuff and was inconsiderate to everyone he worked with on his way out.

Satire and cabaret are dead in this age. You just can't top an extreme. Those people are actual incarnations of the concept of greed. It's impossible to show something more greedy than greed itself. I used to think this was parody, but recently I started to notice that *every* meeting I had at work people would say they understood the decisions we made and that we were all on the same page, but when talking to people outside of the meeting *everyone* had a different interpretation of the decisions we made. I work with a lot of smart people too, but communication is a lot harder than people think. I don't know how we function as a society, to be honest.
@VolatileRed
@VolatileRed Ай бұрын
IMO we don’t function as a society it at all. Our “society” is a bunch of individuals each only interested in themselves, and what affects them. It’s more like a multiverse of abnormal, unhealthy, antisocial control freaks without the ability to listen or comprehend to anything but themselves. But don’t take my word for it, read the news, or open up social media. What I want to know is: were humans always like this and if so, how did we survive? I feel like people are mostly themselves online and in videos games, and one step into Rust, DayZ or GTA will show you anything you want to know about how ‘society’ is functioning. Maybe I’m jaded?

That we only ever see these characters in meetings is actually quite realistic. It's not because VLDL only shows us the meeting bits of their daily work life, but because their entire daily work routine consists of meetings (or scheduling meetings).

Then the two sentence half-baked summary to their personal assistant who has to figure out what the f they meant and who even would handle it, then off to get a drink and that daily afternoon massage being paid for by the company and then a few holes of golf with the boys also on the company time (and it's only ever the boys) that all get time-coded as "meetings." Or maybe that was just the exec above me.

I love hearing about indie game success stories! For a small group to make it big because of their unique ideas is really inspiring!!! I can only imagine how thrilled the team that worked on Among Us was when their game took off after being out for a couple of years, or how exciting it was when Minecraft when Minecraft gained traction so quickly and led to the development of Mojang! I hope people remain inspired and excited to bring out new ideas in the gaming community. There are some super awesome Indie games out there!

I tried looking up Hero Clicker, but kept getting results for Clicker Heroes which was still a really neat looking game with some fun designs! One of my friends is actually obsessed with Factorio and loves to tell me all about a bunch of different playthroughs they've had on the hardest difficulty with their engineering friends! It sounds pretty complicated, but I bet it's really satisfying getting a huge material farm up and running once you've gotten the hang of it! 😆 Cookie Clicker looks a lot like a game I had tried making when I made an attempt at learning how to code games myself! I really just made a low quality pixel art coin that you would click to make a counter go up hahaha Cookie Clicker looks like it has a lot more fun elements in it!
