Great, detailed review. It’s a nice truck, I like the burnt orange but I’m still not tempted to replace my FJ, lol. I believe the C Channel frame was Toyota’s fix to the rust issues of old. Nice to see the return to the stronger box frame, hopefully they’re better treated against corrosion now.

Agreed, it would make more sense but I think part of the TRD Pro’s appeal is that it throws in everything that Toyota could think of. It doesn’t really bother with trying to make sense. I think the trailhunter is the slightly more sensible one id recommend to more people.

Yeah, I just opted for the Sport with the Sport upgraded pkg. Sticker was 48.5k, walked out the b door for 43.5k. I'd buy the OR before the Pro...no way I'd pay that much for a midsize.

@gxkjerrygao7635 i reached out to every dealer within 30 miles, 5 of them. Let them know exactly what i wanted. Went to the first dealership, and while there was in text negotiations with another letting them know i was at their competitor. They gave me a 44.5k offer over text with picture of price and truck. I told dealer i was at I'd think about it and dealer over text had to have $1k down to transport the truck i wanted over state lines. I took the picture proof to another dealer and walked in very stern and told them straight up somebody was selling me a truck just depends who wanted it badly enough. Showed them the picture evidence and they gave me the 43.5k deal. Played em at their own game.

Telling them I was at a dealership gave them the incentive to offer me a 44.5k Sport with verified pictures thru text. I told them both I'd think about it. I took the pictures and walked into the dealer I have a history with and told them sternly I was buying a truck but it just depended on which dealer. Showed them the text msg with the offer and they beat it at 43.5k. Gotta play them against each other.
