I’m a traditional wife🙋🏽‍♀️. My husband works and pays all the bills and buys whatever I need . My full time job is to take care of my husbands needs, the house, and raise our son because as a woman that’s what Im built to do, and all I want to do.. my husband is built to provide and protect. My husband needs me, and I need him. It’s a partnership, a marriage.

@@nickijesusislord888 exactly. A wife should always have her own side money; in case the husband decides he no longer wants to be a husband anymore. Always have an exit plan. Too many women end up stuck relying on a man for everything; when shit goes south it’s the woman that ends up trying to pick up the pieces and figure out her next move. Only a fool would rely solely on a man for everything. I’m married saying this.

I can't actually agree (that he's "full of BS")/ say that he's wrong, but it all depends on the region where "Big Momma" resided... Coming from someone who actually had GREAT-grandparents on up into adulthood... The *traditional* woman did NOT work (before the 50s)- at least not any Black/ minority women in the South. You have to realize the rights that were applicable that prevented work outside the home for many women. So, in all actuality, great-grandmother did not work and many GRANDMOTHERS didn't work until they fled North to escape having to help watch all those 10 kids (siblings) her Mother kept having... So, he's not necessarily speaking "cap" (as younger ppl say)... A lot of people *read* about history, but do not have firsthand knowledge... 😘 #Peace and love to all positivity in the comments #Respectfully agree to disagree

I’m in a traditional marriage. My husband works and I make sure the household is good. Women still bring some kind of income because we aren’t going to ask our husbands to give us money for our feminine products. The only thing that’s major in a traditional household is men are paying the household bills and not asking for half.

Facts are the majority of men nowadays make a million excuses why they can’t or shouldn’t have to provide. It’s really pathetic they are allergic to manhood, fatherhood, monogamy, and accountability. They are blame shifting gaslighters and there is always a some silly woman agreeing with their nonsense. My father and grandfather were providers, I don’t see many in the black community today. This guy is basically saying men don’t provide today because women won’t accept cheating. Makes no sense.

I had a son before we got married and he takes care of him and claims him as his own. His money is my money so he gives me what I need and I give him what he needs. I do have odd jobs too so it aint like I am taking him for everything. So it's all about the situation. So I agree except my husband buys my feminine products.

I've always said, many women married that long, in those traditional relationships have gone THROUGH HELL. So many of those men had other families across the way like this guy said or where physically abusive. My granddad used to cheat and take me with him. You're also skipping the fact that people actually got to know eachother before marriage and kids. That's the main issue. We are skipping steps to a solid relationship. If I'm smashing after the first date what do I know about you? Just that I'm sexually attracted? We start there and stay there then once we get married our sexlife( which was the basis of the relationship anyway) falls off, then what? Then we have to try to either find actual love or leave. And most will choose leave.

This! My grandmother was abandoned by her first husband from an arranged marriage after she had a child with him. She then built a fence up with a no nonsense BS it took my grandfather everything in him to convince her he wanted her forever and she finally let her guards down because of his perseverence. He died after they had 6 children, and as a widow, she became an officer and protected her 6 kids, and had income. There were men who wanted an arranged marriage by bribery for one of my aunts, grandma put a pistol to their face and told em to GTFO. Those men triggered her trauma and she was ready to shoot them on her yard. She didnt want any of her daughters to go through that same mess she did.

Big mama also had a husband who was a rolling stone, and she was making money on the side. Big mama was the person y’all dropped the kids off to because you couldn’t take care of them. Big mama had hella stress because her husband had outside children, she had health issues that she told no one about. And most of the time she suffered physical and emotional abuse from her husband. Big mama struggled like nobody’s business, but she never said a single word. Don’t let big mama be the prototype to traditionalism, because black men have lied to themselves that all they need to do is the bare minimum and the black woman will do the rest. Big mama never enjoyed her life fully and she was never truly happy. Remember that big mama was also the one who woke up at 4am to catch the bus so she can help a white woman take care of her husband. Black women, let these White, Latina and Asian women take over, because a vast majority of black women have never had the opportunity to be homemakers, or stay at home moms. The majority of black men do not make enough money to take care of a household with one child by themselves. And when they make money to afford a family, they either stay bachelors right play the field or they marry white and other non black women. Black men talk all this bs about wanting a traditional wife, but they can’t even provide, and they’re not ready to be husbands. A lot of them are in a state of arrested development where their bodies grow, but their mind is still 16 years old. And these men are not married, but they’re trying to shame you into marriage. It may be sad for some of you but the only way that a black woman will be able to be a homemaker is to marry a man from a different race where resources and a good family structure and leadership is normalized. And that’s the honest truth.

He’s talking about Great & Grandparents age range. My Granny worked til retirement, raised 6 children and stayed married for 64years. They passed away in their 80’s. They went their issues but never gave up on each other nor their children and grandchildren. I’m almost 45 and my generation is still partying, still flip flopping in the sheets and not wanting to be responsible in a marriage. This is the problem!

People focus on too many movies and nostalgia they never even experienced. The average white family in the those days had the comfortably of making 400 grand (in todays money) a year, grants from the government for houses, and welfare. Their weren't as many millionaires also. Everyone is in love with this life style of being traditional that really didn't exist in the 40s and 50s. A lot of people had 2 parents working and the laws weren't the same. Dad had kids around the corner and mom had that one kid that didn't look like the others. It all was a fairy tale. What made it hard to divorce or leave was the judgment people would face in those times so parents stayed together. Now couples can split for no reason. I agree 100% people actually need to do research about these traditional relationships. A lot of bad things happened in the old days.

I really don’t know what kind of “grown women” are out there today but I’m 20 years old .. been with my boyfriend for over 3 years in that span of time I’ve watched him lose his father suddenly, purchase a home by himself and MAINTAIN his bills and household! Every relationship has there ups and downs but we don’t fight. I’ve seen him at lows and highs and I love him more everyday! I appreciate him as well he’s definitely a GREAT MAN!!! He doesn’t make 100k a year but he still makes me feel SECURE in all aspects and that’s what I can respect the most! I agree with a lot of men today the pool of women they have to choose from is very poor... when I met my boyfriend I was a virgin.. I was scared to even kiss anybody. I didn’t even really date in high school until I met him my senior year and been together ever since. I watch my mom who just turned 40 struggle with dating so much and I think its these unattainable/ unrealistic standards y’all are setting for these men and YOURSELVES when you already 1,2,3,4,5 kids especially by different men and all you can bring to the table is a “bag” or your body (sex).. also a lot of women nowadays are extremely sexually promiscuous and LOUD AND PROUD about it and then on the other side yelling somebody needs to wife them when you’re a whore🤦🏽‍♀️ why should he wine and dine you when he knows he can have you by the 2nd or 3rd date lol..I think a lot more women need to put themselves in men shoes! This is why I'll never marry or have children it's scary out here, they're trying to shame us into marrying a ran through woman who thinks she's born again her past should matter. It really does but thank you for seeing what we've been seeing and saying for years. They can keep their "bag" and date the guys who are ok with getting with them Nd that baggage they come with. They'll never care abt what it takes for us to want them but yet we become providers to take care of ourselves ofcourse, but also for our family if we have one. They can't even save themselves or atleast respect their bodies for themselves and their future husband.Theyre reckless

My grandparents had a severely toxic relationship. He kept cheating having side kids along with the 10 kids they shared together. My grandma was a G...she left him, made him take the kids and went to live her single life for a few years. Her kids weren't mad cause they knew my grandpa cheated and abused her.

Abuse is the worst. Especially alcoholics who don’t care. They are unendingly selfish when they have a kid that they need to provide for.

Men say some women say they don't need them if they have their money. You guys made up that statement instead of being better men to women....that's the easiest excuse to fuss at some women. Most women don't say that. Most women are just saying since we don't have to stay under negative circumstances in relationships like big mama and some traditional women of the past did (such as abuse, forever girlfriend status, cheating, infidelity, unappreciated, overworked at home, common law titles, disrespect) they rather stay single until someone suitable comes along.

He is absolutely correct. I see NO holes in his explanation. I grew up in the 60s I witnessed many women, Black, White and Latina, tolerate a massive amount of disrespect, physical and verbal abuse, infidelity etc. because their husbands were the sole breadwinner. They had no income of their own, unless their families had money. Divorce was for the rich. Now, thank God, women have more financial independence, and opportunities for higher education. Let a man tell a hard working, educated Mom that HE is king of the castle......that guy will be waking up in the ER!
